Is Yellowbook.com gone?
-
I recently moved from the US to Israel. I'm looking for citation opportunities for a client, and I can't seem to access yellowbook.com . Is that because the site is actually gone, or is it just blocked by my ISP? If it is blocked by my ISP, does anyone know of a workaround?
Thanks,
Adam -
Hi Adam!
Yellowbook still exists and is accessible from the US. I'm sorry but I'm not sure why it wouldn't be so from your location.
As for workarounds, I can suggest two:
-
Infogroup feeds Yellowbook, as far as I know, so if you have something you need to do on Yellowbook, you might want to take that up with Infogroup.
-
If you need a citation built only on Yellowbook, get someone in the US to do it for you. Of course, if the business you're promoting is in Israel and there is some reason Yellowbook isn't accessible to anyone from there, having a citation on that platform would be of questionable value.
Hope this helps!

ExpressUpdate.com Down, any other options for updating NAP
It looks like ExpressUpdate.com is down and while I know nobody actually uses Citysearch anymore I was wondering if anyone else had a solution for updating NAP data there.

How to set-up international URL structure for e-com shop?
Hi There We're currently running a successful international online store on a .com domain. We are located in Europe but most of our visitors are coming from the U.S. We display all the prices of our products in USD to all our customers. We are considering to set up multiple stores for different regions, so we can display different currencies per region, shipping methods, banners etc. We were thinking about the following set-up: eu.domainname.com (for EU excl. UK, currency €) uk.domainname.com (for UK, currency GBP) www.domainname.com (For rest of the world, currency $) All shops are in English. Would this be a good set-up? What should we take into account to avoid duplicate content? Kind regards Jerome

Google Reviews From Around The Web Feature Gone
Hey All My Favorite Local Community Members! I think we might start having questions come up about this, so I thought I'd do a quick post. Google has just confirmed that they have removed the 'Reviews from Around the Web' feature that has so long been a part of their local SERPs display. Mike Blumenthal confirms that this is official, here: http://localu.org/blog/google-more-reviews-links-removed-from-knowledge-panel/ Apparently, you can still see your reviews from around the web in your Google My Business dashboard, but they are gone from knowledge panels, etc. This may not be a feature greatly missed by many, as the business owner had so little control over what was displayed in this section. So ... upshot is: if you've just noticed that this feature is gone, it's official - it's gone.

YP.com cloning my site! Will this hurt my original content?
Client was in an obscene YP.com contract. Now they are cloning the site I built for client, inserting the phone number that gives them credit for the leads. It's harvesting content immediately, loading pages I created just today. Client site : http://www.shephearstmeadows.com/
