Why is Link Explorer showing the same domain strength for domain and sub-domain? Shouldn't it be different?
-
I believe in the past the sub-domain score was different than the domain score in Link Explorer. Now I am seeing that it is reporting the same score. I have to use exact page to get a sense of how strong the sub-domain is.
-
Thanks for the quick response. If that is the case why is there a sub-domain option? Is it only to have the ability to see linking domains and links? Not to have the ability to see authority? I then typically default to page authority to have a sense of the authority of the sub-domain.

Hi - Thanks for posting!
Domain Authority scores are representative of the entire root domain. Sub-domains do not have a separate Domain Authority from their root domain.
Link Explorer will always show the same Domain Authority score for any URL searched on a root domain, regardless if searching by domain, subdomain, or exact page in the tools.

We hope that helps to clarify!

Open site Explorer Facebook Shares
In open site explorer I have been trying to increase my Facebook Shares and likes. I recently posted my URL and got over 150 likes but none of that has been showing up in open site explorer. I noticed my profile was set to private so I went back and made sure it was public and the shared link was public but nothing. Can anybody explain to me what exactly the Facebook share is measuring? Because the explanation it gives me isn't working for some reason. Perhaps it takes a bit longer for Facebook measure than Twitter or Google Plus, but it has been a few days and I would expect it to have registered by now. Any help would be great. If it helps you can help check it out. My URL is http://www.baselinedental.com Thanks!

Feedburner Links Showing Up In OSE
I, for years now, have been seeing lots of links from http://feeds.feedburner.com/ showing up very high in backlink profiles. Why is this? And if these links are not passing link juice why are they being reported on in OSE? Seems like there should be some sort of filter for these, or that OSE bot should follow robots.txt directives as googlebot does.

Total links
Hi there, Root domain metrics I do not understand the "Total links" metric. I was checking this domain: domesticviolenceuk.org. The total links value (11k) is huge compared to the sum of external and internal links (429 + 221). Why? Is that because 221 is the number of internal links to the single page and not to the root domain? If so, it would mean this domain has 10k internal links. Thank you. Willy

How to check what websites your website is linking to
We recently transitioned away from a third party website using a different domain. A lot of our blog posts still link to this domain. Is there a tool offered by Moz that crawls your website and provides a report of all websites that your website is linking to?
