Designed new website with new domain has more than 24 million links over night on seomoz, how has this happend?
-
I recently added http://www.ard.uk.com to seomoz, its a new site with a new domain. on the first overview its saying it has more than 24 million links and has a mozrank over 7, how is this possible?
-
It appears that you have a sub-subdomain of the domain uk.com; not a unique domain.
Thus, your data reports that uk.com has 24 million links; but this data does not reflect links to your little subdomain of that bigger domain.
You may have meant to buy the domain http://www.ard.co.uk
{ www.ard. <-- the subdomain(s) } { uk <-- the domain } {.com <-- the TLD }
vs. { www. <-- the subdomain } { ard <-- the domain } { .co.uk <-- the TLD )
-
Hi Francesco,
The problem is that .uk.com is not a true TLD, like .uk.com, .com, or .org, it's actually a subdomain of the domain uk.com. So those 24 million links you are seeing are for the domain uk.com and not your site. The true TLD for the UK is .co.uk and not .uk.com. So your website is really just a subdomain of a very big domain. To get information for your site you will only be able to look at the subdomain information and not the root domain level.

This might sound daft but just to be sure, is this perhaps an old domain that you have purchased on an auction, or one which has expired and you have re-registered? If so you can certainly inherit links which other people have built up.
-
Hi Francesco,
I can't see why this is happening, but I'm going to fire it over to the customer services guys to take a look. Sorry the response is slow in coming - I'm still getting used to the new Q&A system.
-
i dont understand how
-
I see you have Domain Authority of 71! Thats mad!
-
most valuable link / phpBB • Free and Open Source Forum Software www.phpbb.com/
-
ive had a look on whois and carnt find any past history
-
Saying No Data Available for this URL when I tried to look at it on Open Site Explorer. Perhaps someone at SEOMOZ has spotted that there is an issue here?
I would look to see where it says the most valuable of the links are actually coming from.
-
Is the domain new or did it have a site on it maybe before you got it?
-
Ive just deleted the campaign started a fresh and its the same crazy!!
-
That def seems to be an issue - as daft as this may sound - could you double check the URL?
If thats OK - try creating a new campaign and see if that replicates - if it does, it may be a bug with the campaign tool and one for the moz staff to look into.
-
this should load up the image, im probably doing somthing daft but ive checked everything and it all looks ok
-
Could you add a screenshot - I may be being thick - but I still dont get where you areseeing info - a screenshot may help a bit
-
no when I go to competitive Link Analysis in my clients campaign were it shows links and moz rank it has 24 million links and a mozrank of 7.6? its only been live a day

Only 2 Inbound Links which are the Redirect 301 Links
Hello Everyone, We're having a serious Problem with the ranking of our website so we started testing the website in different Tools. Almost all of the tools say our website works great and in comparision to our competitors we win in almost every test – but we rank behind them. The only thing that makes me wonder is the fact that our website has only 2 Inbound links (Open Site Explorer) when the link source is set to only internal. And the only links shown are 2 links that come from the old http (we're using https) and redirect 301 to our https. No other links – in other tools we have around 80 internal links to our rmain https-webadress. Does anyone have an idea where that comes from? I'm afraid this might be our issue in ranking behind of lots of our competitors. Lokking forward to your ideas and suggestions.

How bad are poor link profiles for a website?
A client has recently switched to us for their SEO and is hugely concerned about their previous company's link building efforts. They say that they have recently removed over 300 links but OSE still lists 160 links. So three questions: How long will it take for OSE to recognise if the links have been removed? How great could the effects of this be on the site's rankings? If we continue to struggle with getting the links removed would Google's disavow tool make much of a difference or are there negatives that sould be considered first?

Is www.domain.com/page the same url as www.domain.com/page/ for Google? (extra slash at end of url)
Dear all, in open site explorer there is a difference the url's 'www.domain.com/page' and 'www.domain.com/page/' (extra slash at end). There can be different values in pageauthority etc. in the open site explorer tool, but is this also the case for Google? Thanks for replying, Regards, Ben

Why seomoz crawler does not see my snapshot?
I have a web app that uses angularJS and the content is all dynamic (SPA). I have generated snapshots for the pages and write a rule to redirect ( 301) to the snapshot in case of find escaped_fragment in the URL. E.g http://plure.com/#!/imoveis/venda/rj/rio-de-janeiro Request: http://plure.com/?escaped_fragment=/imoveis/venda/rj/rio-de-janeiro is redirected to: http://plure.com/snapshots/imoveis/venda/rj/rio-de-janeiro/ The snapshot is a headless page generated by PhantomJS. Even following the guideline ( https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/docs/specification) I still can't see my page crawled and I also in SEOMoz I can only see the 1st page crawled with no dynamic content on it. Am I doing something wrong? SEOMoz was supposed to get the snapshot based on same rules of GoogleBot or SEOMoz does not get snapshots?

Hey from a New guy to SEO
Hi everybody!!! Hope everybody is dandy. Have spent a long time looking into SEOmoz and decided to just take the plunge and see what happens. Im quite new to the world of SEO but I really want to get good at it. Hoping Moz and this community will aid with this! Currently in the process of reading the SEO beginners guide and the SEOmoz user guide! The two sites that I am currently working on are: 1. www.advanced-incar.co.uk 2. www.advanced-incarcamerasystems.com The first site seems to have crawled well and have entered my competitors and am getting some info back (looks like I have a lot of work to do judging by the errors D'oh) In the world of Google what is the best way to ensure you have authority on certain terms. For instance if I search advanced-incar we are top and we have all our sitelinks underneath etc etc, but when I search advanced incar we are second and as such we don't display sitelinks. Any ideas? The second site was built using 1&1 and gives us a good little site for what we need. I have found out through research the most popular keywords are in car camera & in car cameras. Currently Im using Adwords to get us sponsored hits which is getting us some nice traffic but costing a bit. Those are the two main keywords i want this site to really hit home with. Any advice? Also on this site, when I go to SEOmoz and select Link Analysis I get no info. It just shows 0 or 0.0 wheras my competitor sites all have values against them. Is something wrong with my site or what im doing? (Have added an example screenshot) I appreciate its a long ended question but would really appreciate some help. Hoping that the guides will help me understand all this linkjuice stuff etc as well! Thanks guys, really appreciative of any info you can provide. Need a Google Doc That Imports List of Links From SEOMoz API
Does anyone have one they'd like to share. I've seen the great ones by Tom Anthony but I am looking for the list of the first 1000 links that are available as part of the free API to be brought back into a Google Doc.

Tons of Crappy links in new OSE (Open Site Explorer)
I am starting to miss the old OSE. I've found that for a lot of the pages on our site, the new OSE is showing WAY more links and most of them are garbage nonsense links from China, Russia, and the rest of the internet Wild West. For instance, in the old OSE, this page used to show 9 linking domains: http://www.uncommongoods.com/gifts/by-recipient/gifts-for-him It now shows 454 links. Some of the new links (about 5 of them) are legitimate. The other 400+ are garbage. Some are porn sites, most of them don't even open a web page, they just initiate some shady download. I've seen this for other sites as well (like Urban Outfitters) This is making it much harder for me to do backlink analysis on bc I have no clue how many "Normal" links they have. Is anyone else having this problem ? Any way to filter all this crap out ? See attached screenshot of the list of links I'm getting from OSE. NHXnn
