What do I do about multiple listings for doctors on InfoUSA?
-
I'm doing local SEO for a chiropractic clinic that has four chiropractors.
On InfoUSA and therefor on CitySearch, Insiderpages, Healthgrades, etc, there are individual listings for each chiropractor with the clinic's name, address and phone number. Google places pulls reviews from those other sites and I don't think they will make the connection on the listings.
The tricky thing is that health-care review sites such as healthgrades.com have reviews for doctors and not for clinics necessarily.
What's the best way to organize this? Should I get all of these listings consolidated into one listing for the clinic in general that has the same info as the Google Places listing? Should I get the individual chiropractor listings deleted?

Hi Jason,
I'm following up on older questions that are still marked unanswered. Did you figure out what to do here (and if so, what did you do) or are you still looking for some advice?
-
Thanks for your help.
By consolidate the listings do you mean delete the individual doctor listings or let Google do its consolidation that it seems to be trying to figure out?
As i mentioned in my original question, health care review sites such as healthgrades.com do reviews on a per-doctor basis and there is no ability to leave reviews on clinics. As long as Google can figure out the doctor reviews are traced back to the clinic's main listing I think I should just leave everything as-is.

Yes. It looks like it might be best to consolidate with one outstanding listing. If they are under the same business name and URL then I think you have no choice.
If you list the practitioners at or near the top of the description then you will help the listing when people search for the individuals.

I just noticed this right now:
Google seems to have figured out that two of the doctors' Google Places pages are related to the main Places page because they share the same reviews. The two other doctors for some reason have no reviews and don't seem to be connected. It seems Google is seeing them as related listings (they all have the same business name and URL connected to the listing).
For that reason, I'm not sure if putting different info in all listing would be a good idea.

I would get the clinic its own listing and then one for each of the chiropractors because some users may look specifically for a particular chiropractor. Having a listing for both the chiropractor and the clinic they work in probably contributes to the overall "local authority" of the clinic and the chiropractors.
I would also make sure that the content used to describe each is distinctly different.
One catch though... do they all use the same phone number? That could be a problem with verification.

Canonical question for cross-listed product listings
We have products that are listed across multiple categories. This results in muliple urls for the PDP, for example: mystore.com/shirts/shirt-101.html mystore.com/shirts/pink-shirts/shirt-101.html They make use of the canonical tag and point back to only one product listing url, however Google has indexed both urls in some cases. Has anyone else run up against this and does anyone have advice on how this should be handled?

Will this affect the local SEO listings in Google?
So, I'm trying to list the same exact address across all local listings for a client. How "exact" do they all need to match in order for them to be optimized for the 7-pack listings? Here is an example of what I'm dealing with... 999 Cherry Ln #1 Dallas, TX 75238 - Address on Google Plus page 999 Cherry Ln Ste 1, Dallas, TX 75238 - Address on every other business listing Is this close enough or is this inconsistency really hurting this client?

Duplicate Page Title for a Large Listing Website
My company has a popular website that has over 4,000 crawl errors showing in Moz, most of them coming up as Duplicate Page Title. These duplicate page titles are coming from pages with the title being the keyword, then location, such as: "main keyword" North Carolina

"main keyword" Texas ... and so forth. These pages are ranked and get a lot of traffic. I was wondering what the best solution is for resolving these types of crawl errors without it effecting our rankings. Thanks!0 -

Would duplicate listings effect a client's ranking if they used same address?
Lots of duplication on directory listings using similar or same address, just different company names... like so-and-so carpet cleaning; and another listing with so-and-so janitorial services. Now my client went from a rank around 3 - 4 to not even in the top 50 within a week. -- -- -- Would duplication cause this sudden drop? Not a lot of competition for a client using keyword (janitorial services nh); -- -- -- would a competitor that recently optimized a site cause this sudden drop? Client does need to optimize for this keyword, and they do need to clean up this duplication. (Unfortunately this drop happened first of March -- I provided the audit, recommendations/implementation and still awaiting the thumbs up to continue with implementation). --- --- --- Did Google make a change and possibly find these discrepancies within listings and suddenly drop this client's ranking? And they there's Google Places:

Client usually ranks #1 for Google Places with up to 12 excellent reviews, so they are still getting a good spot on the first page. The very odd thing though is that Google is still saying that need to re-verify their Google places. I really would like to know for my how this knowledge how a Google Places account could still need verification and yet still rank so well within Google places on page results? because of great reviews? --- Any ideas here, too? _Cindy0 -

Multiple pages - Similar keywords
I'm working on a site with a parent page and two minor pages all dealing with the primary/root keyword "log siding" - How do I optimize all three pages without bastardization of the primary keyword? Parent page - keyword: half-log-siding and log-siding Child Pages (linking from the parent) cedar-log-siding and Pine-log-siding. They all feature "log-siding" and grade well for that keyword (as well as their own long-tail keywords), yet I think based on my rank tracking that Google is unhappy with the multiple pages all (seemingly focused) on log-siding. Any ideas how I can effectively target all the long-tail keywords within their respective landing pages and not draw a penalty from Google towards my parent page and the root keyword? Thanks, Bill
