Anyone seeing ose csv exports hanging?
-
None of my reports are completing - even if left to run overnight - anyone else seeing this?
There was mention of this in http://www.seomoz.org/q/problems-with-ose-downloads but I get the sense from that thread that the problem was solved back in August.
-
All working now, thanks!
-
Just to let anyone else watching the thread know, the solution has been started, but it may be until Monday before things can be finished and this fixed -- but it has been started.
-
... but this is an urgent issue. It shouldnt be monday to begin to solve that
Thanks
-
Same to me... email to help@ is out...

Thanks! Sorry to make you go on two places, but the Q&A system and help desk system don't have a function where I can turn this into a help desk question. You might not hear back from the help desk until they officially open again on Monday, but there's a good chance there's a staffer or two hanging around the help desk and avoiding holiday shopping, so you might hear back earlier than Monday.

have logged on zendesk. thanks keri.

Hi Jassy,
Could you also send an email to [email protected] so this can be logged with the help desk? That will get a help desk person to respond to you, and also help us with any trends that might be going on.
Thanks!

Struggling with the principle of backlinks, all i can see for the competition is directories?
Hey everyone, I have been using the open site explorer to check the linking domains/inbound links of competition for window suppliers. I've read that directories generate pretty much no link juice, yet all i can find for pretty much all of the well ranking competition (other than few very major companies) is directory listings. This leaves me wondering whether just submiitting to 5-10 good relevant directories would help tip me above some of the competition... I've read quite a lot about generating quality backlinks but i still haven't got my head around how to actually do anything myself that would be potentially useful. All i've done so far is post to relevant high authority directories and a couple relevant forums. I have pretty much £0 budget but a decent amount of time and strong graphic design and animation skills so feel like i can put that to use but again would have no idea what to do even if i created something share worthy. I can't imagine succesfully contacting anyone and getting them to link back to me or share my content.. Thanks for any advice...

Anyone using Yahoo Small Business? Not sure if SEOmoz works with YahooSB
I am not sure if SEOmoz is compatible with Yahoo Small Business. The crawl states that the title page is too long for over a hundred titles, but they are not. SEOmoz is taking the title page and the parent or catagory page and grouping together. Please only respond if you work SEO for Yahoo Small Business accounts. Would be glad to take discussion thread off line or show the SEOmoz report.

Poor OSE results on my links
I am really disappointed with the "return on investment" I am getting from being a Pro member and using Open Site Explorer to analyze and remedy my inbound links post-penguin. My site has been crawled for over 4 months now by seomoz and OSE reprots that I have "external links" from just 25 or so domains - whereas Google webmaster tools has accurately identified well over 270 domains that link back to my site. How can do any sort of link removal strategy using open site explorer? I am paying $100/mo for SEomoz, and nothing for Google. What is the problem?

Press Release - using moz bar/OSE is reading domain not page? How? Why?
A question posed by Christopher Glaeser from early today:low PA high DA, had a follow up response from him providing 2 urls from PR WEB for separate press releases: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8923419.htm (HP White) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 47 DA - 36 http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9051351.htm (Golfer's Advice) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 1 DA - 96 I kept scratching my head as to how a press release of 6 weeks ago had garnered such attention from a company that would not seem to have a huge traffic due to more obscure product offering and scientific subject (Analyses of Armor Industry versus Golf Advice).

Then I realized that for HP White, Link Data was not about the PR. The url from mozbar was HPWhite.com not the above, I did not notice until I used OSE where same thing was happening. When I cut and pasted the above press release url for HP White and placed it in OSE this changed: PA - 49 DA - 96 (2 links 2 linking root domains) For Golfers advice (0 links from 0 linking domains) Note to all: the links to the PR WEB release for the HP included a low end directory type link and a link from PR WEB (. For Golfer's Advice there was not a link back to the release from PR WEB: Note that Golfer's Advice is a newer release (6 weeks). So, any link from HPWhite release would equal more juice to HP White and PR Web and Vocus. Any link to Golfer's Advice from release offers......???? to Golfer's Advice and who cares to Vocus and PR Web. So, I guess this begs a couple of questions: Why the mozbar link analysis difference for one versus the other? Does PR Web treat some differently than others? Who benefits most from me paying a PR Web to do press releases for a client, PR Web and Vocus or my client and I???? I have tried to order the images to make sense: L to R top, then bottom is last. SEOmoz Crawl CSV in Excel: already split by semicolon. Is this Excel's fault or SEOmoz's?
If for example a page title contains a ë the .csv created by the SEOmoz Crawl Test is already split into columns on that point, even though I haven't used Excel's text to columns yet. When I try to do the latter, Excel warns me that I'm overwriting non-empty cells, which of course is something I would rather not do since that would make me lose valuable data. My question is: is this something caused by opening the .csv in Excel, or earlier in the process when this .csv is created?

Can I see backlinks to a specific URL, not including redirects?
Does SEOMoz have a tool that allows me to see backlinks to a specific URL sans redirected URLs? So, URL is www.website.com/search. www.website.com redirects to www.website.com/search and I want to see how many people have linked to the /search, the resulting URL. Thanks for any help! Erin
