Google+ and Google Search Plus Your World. Are the results served actually the best results?
-
I recently started a discussion on Google+ and thought I would get some feedback from the SEO community.
https://plus.google.com/106060287111641282262/posts/Hpak5R6uY47
This article suggests that Google Search Plus Your World does not improve search quality for users. When a search is performed, I can imagine that results would be skewed to Google+ content and +1s from people in your circles. Doesn't this mean that if you only follow not-so-influential people who share and +1 not so quality stuff that your new "world" results are just going to be low quality? Doesn't this mean that SEO and traditional linking methods are dying? This would mean that the bigger chains will have more advantage just like what happened after Panda. How does the small business compete with this?
Any insight would be of super appreciation.

For now, I don't see any changes needed to traditional linking methods. Most people who are not marketers probably are going to be slow to use Google Plus, since they've already invested their time into Facebook.
You should always be building links to your site as if search engines didn't exist anyways - that's just a good practice for link building. You should be getting links on topical sites where your target audience already is.
Even if Google Plus does somehow get anywhere near the amount of users as Facebook, I just think the privacy issues and monopoly issues will surface. That will force Google to ease up on the forced exposure of their own products in order to make it look like they are being fair in the eyes of the Government.
But, stranger things have happened!

What metrics does the fb:admins Facebook Open Graph tag actually provide?
I'm considering implementing the "fb:admins" Open Graph tag on our website to provide our social media team with additional analytics. We already have the other standard OG tags in place. My question is twofold: Can you use a Facebook Page ID rather than an individual user's account ID? What data, specifically, will this tag provide? Our site already has an official Facebook Page and I'm curious whether this tag would make any NEW information available, outside of what we can already get within the Page Insights. I would love to see a screencap if anyone has it implemented! Facebook outlines the tag usage here, but it's not exceedingly helpful: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/insights/ Thanks guys!

Has the World moved on or is it in the same place?
The question is, do I build my personal profile or company brand profile? I blog, I tweet, I facebook, I G+, I use LinkedIn, I have accounts with other social media platforms and I am still not sure whether the most effective route to drive traffic is to use my personal or brand profile! My face is v much part of the brand (launched June2013), I have a Disqus account in the brand name and i have joined other communities in both brand & personal names - it occurred to me whether I am diluting my overall "authority" by using both. It also occurred to me that when signing up to new forums by using my brand Twitter account to register this will leave all comments as the brand, when perhaps others will be looking for a "real person"? Previous advice sometime ago was to use both, but I wondered whether expert thinking had moved on? Thanks Ash

Doctors in a Hospital - Setup Google Local or Google+ Profiles?
Hello - I've been running this over for awhile - so I'm curious to see what the community says about it. I'm working with a client who would like to brand the doctors in their hospitals. Many of them do have recognition already - and their associated locations have profiles. Google Local semi-recently said it's OK to brand Dr's names - even if they exist within a single location. So, my question is - is it better to go the Google Local route and create the Local/+ page for them, or to go through the Google+/Google Brand Pages route and create them that way? If each doctor were to decide, individually, to post on their page - would that be possible with the Places route (I don't think so, based on what I've seen)? Also, if a doctor already has a personal Google+ page - would it make sense to just create the additional brand page as well through this interface? Well either of these methods achieve optimal visibility as well as the option to post should they decide to go that route? What it boils down to - is this is a task we can perform from the outside, or is it best handled by giving the doctors best practice for setting up their personal Google+ pages and associated Brand Pages themselves? Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Places for business vs. Google+ personal profile
I am still trying to figure out Places and Google+. Could someone please help me understand how my Google+ profile (that it attached to and can be accessed through my gmail account) interacts with my Places page (which requires my gmail credentials to administer, but can only be accessed through the Places page itself)? Do my posts on my personal profile enhance my Places listing? Any help would be appreciated.

Which tool you best recommend for Social Media management, engagement, and monitoring. reputeme.com - trackur.com - viralheat.com - sproutsocial.com?
Please consider the pricing, ease of use, and accuracy, also, perhaps the social networks being monitored( as far as I am concern it's only trackur that monitors google+) Also if you have other recommendation, that would be awesome too. Thank you. PS: I love seomoz Social Media reporting, I just have other requirements too. Thanks.

How do you believe Google's +1 service is going to affect SEO? What can we do?
So Google just announced the +1 button, which is there answer to Facebook 'likes' button: http://searchengineland.com/meet-1-googles-answer-to-the-facebook-like-button-70569 http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/30/google-plus-one/ They should begin showing up now on Google US. If you aren't seeing them, you can turn them on here: http://www.google.com/experimental/ I want to know? What affect do you predict these are going to have? Is there anything we can do from an SEO point to begin leveraging +1 right from the outset?
