Google Adwords or Wordtracker?
-
I have been using Google Adwords tool for keyword research until today when I signed up for 7 day trial of Wordtracker. To my astonishment the results were different with a huge margin for most of my keywords.
Which of these should I trust more?
Do you suggest any other tool which is better than these both and is free or affordable?

Thanks for help.
The reason why I asked is that Google Adwords is behaving very awkwardly. A 'hight' competition keywords with a figure of 0.85 appears to be 'Medium' 0.26 when exported to CSV. I don't know which one to trust. I am not sure why the figure changes when exported to CSV. Quite strange.
Have you experienced anything like that? Can you offer a solution to that?
Also, you have already answered my next question. Why doing searches I should enable 'Exact match' and 'phrase match'. Yeah?

The ultimate question.... keyword tools. I have personally used all of them, and non of them are really very good at predicting volume. Google is too broad, keyword tools are not accurate. You should really only use a third party tool for getting keyword ideas.
I usually find that the top 3 keywords between the tools are generally the same, and you can get a feel for the ones that are the top.
There just isnt a good way to get very specific. Make sure that you are using the phrase or exact match option in the Google Adwords tool though for a more accurate number of searches.
The most accurate way sadly is to spend some money if you have it. Open up an adgroup on phrase match for your keywords and let it run, and you will get a real feel for the search volume by looking at impressions.

Which "search volume" stats should I choose? Moz or Google Keyword Planner?
Hi there Hoping someone can shed some light... The same keywords give different Search Volume results in Moz and Google Keyword Planner. Why is this and which one should I "trust"/use? Thank you!

How accurate is Googles Keyword Planner?
I did some keyword research for our company. Some of the terms we got 100,000 search volume for in 2011 now have only 90 monthly searches. I am doing exact match for both US and Global and neither are any where near those high of numbers. Now I can't say how the old report on this was done but we are all a little skeptical of these numbers. Is there any other tool out there for search volume on Google? The Moz tool while it lists Google as an option only does Bing. Thank you!

How to get search volume in Google's keyword planner
I want to know the search volume for ~1000 keywords that I discovered via ubersuggest. Yesterday I could have done this in 5 minutes, but I can't seem to get it to work in the new Google tool and would love some advice. When I either upload or copy and paste my list into the tool I can get it to give me search ideas with volume, but it has all the keywords I am uploading as 0 search volume (when I know that is not true and some of them have thousands of searches). I've tried "entering keywords to see how they perform" and also "searching for keyword ideas" (the second just because the first didn't try after my 10 tries) Any ideas about what I am doing wrong?

Ignore keywords that have no data in the Google Keyword Tool?
Hello, There are some keywords that have no monthly search data in the Google Keyword Tool. In many cases, this is because there have been very few searches for the keyword. Would you recommend focusing on other keywords that do have search data in the Google Keyword Tool? Perhaps focusing too far out on the long tail of search results can be less productive than focusing on keywords that have proven that at least some people care about them. What do you think? Thanks!

How advanced is Google synonym recognition?
Hi all. I am currently helping a company that offers training courses and was wandering if Google would recognize 'Training' as a synonym of 'Course' as effectively they both mean the same thing but seemed to be compounded? So instead in my keywords/title etc.having. Business Training Course I could get away with only Business Training OR Business Course. In most cases the keyword difficulty for training is a 5% harder than course but as this is for a professional company and not a standard academic I felt training seemed more appropriate.

Does Google Places pick up interior pages?
For example, we have optimized all of a clients interior pages to the point where it is competing with some of their competitors main pages. Unfortunately, they do not show up on most of the Google Places keywords. Their competition, who are lower than them organically, automatically show up in Google Places while they do not show up at all. Organically they are 2nd or 3rd in most of their keywords, but no one near the top in Google Places. Thank you!
