Website not responding to web request
-
Hi,
I'm attempting to create a campaign, but the website I want to analyse won't allow SEOmoz to crawl the site stating that the site does not allow 'web requests' - can anything be done about this?
Thanks,
Adam

Hey Adam, You can skip past the error if your site is live. It just means our ping to it timed out. I would just skip that error and move on with the campaign creation! Here is some more info on creating a campaign: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20887168-campaign-set-up Hope this can shed some light on the issues. Best, Nick

Sounds like your Robots.txt file is set to disallow or something similar. Is the site indexed in the SE's?

Time For New Website To Rank?
We've been working on a site for the past couple months and going to be launching in a couple weeks. How long does it take for Google to establish a "stabilized" ranking for the site and various pages? The main homepage will have its targeted keywords and each product page will have its own targeted keywords. We have about 100 total pages for the site. I know rankings may fluctuate initially but trying to get an idea of when the rankings are stabilized before we start working on the ongoing SEO like earning backlinks, changing on-page optimization, etc to be able to track changes in rankings over time.

Stripping referrer on website with a mix of both http and https
I know going from https to http (usually) strips referrers but I was wondering if the referrer is stripped when your website is a mix of both http and https? Say someone browses your site (on http), adds a product and then goes to your cart (https), then decides to go back to another page on your website which is http. Will this strip the referrer? Any help on this would be great, thanks!

Contacting web partners (syndicators)
In Analytics, you can see all the referrers who linked to you over a particular time period. For example, I can go to my referrer list for May and see everyone who linked to me (traffic sources>sources>referrals). What I want to do is contact all the websites who went one month without linking to me. I know how to select the time frame and download the list. But what is the best way to compare the two lists then filter out those websites who need to be contacted? It's tough to express, but I am hoping I am clear enough for you guys to understand what I am trying to accomplish.

Dramatic Increase in referrals from own website
The past few weeks I've been wracking my brain to figure out why on earth my branded searches could be dropping off at 30-40%. Well today, I realize I've had a dramatic increase in referrals from my own site (the non www verison). I'm talking 150 in March of last year to 5k in March of this year drastic. My 301 redirects haven't changed as far as I know -- I've had them set to redirect from the non www. to the www. for at least a year or two. I'm assuming visitors from search engines are somehow getting the non www version and the redirect is attributing the traffic to referrals instead of search. The drop in search traffic and the increase in referral traffic fall on the same day. Does that sound right/possible? If so, how do I fix this? My traffic stats for two clients are all screwy because of this. I want to make sure whatever solution I implement won't hurt my search traffic numbers any more 🙂 Has anyone else seen this happen recently? I could imagine an anomaly with one site but I find it odd that it could be two client sites. I still have some others to check. Thanks in advance! Leslie

Hello! I am trying to track different types of interaction on the YouTube for videos which are embedded on a website to measure the interaction on these video from my organic traffic. Is there a good way to go about this with the code since these are coming from an iFrame on YouTube? Would appreciate any feedback or help on implementing the event tracking with YouTube videos. Many thanks!

Why is a section of our website dropping in&out of Google SERPs?
In July 2011 we started a news section that has it's own 'subfolder' /news/ (http://www.chorder.com/news/new_gear/, http://www.chorder.com/news/gear_deals/ etc.) The whole news section is dropping in&out of Google SERP's since late October, as show in attached graph. All news texts are real deal, written by our own staff, linked from homepage. Any idea why this happens and how to prevent it? cmqky.png
