UK Google Results .com V's .co.uk
-
In the UK lots of people use google.com rather than google.co.uk.
The above data is a bit out of date but still I know lots of UK people who search on google.com.
When I depersonalise the results and search there is a difference between what I see on google.com V's what I see on google.co.uk.
Indeed one of the companies I work for ranks ok on google.co.uk, but not so well on google.com
Questions:
How would I best track ranking for UK based users who use google.com AND/OR google.co.uk using the SEOmoz tools (or other tools if appropriate)?
I note that in "Google Webmaster Tools" you can change the setings to "Target users in United Kingdom". Given the fact that UK users use both google.com AND/OR google.co.uk would it be better to change this to unlisted or deselect the "Target users in" option?
Thanks in advance.

Heres some 2010 data showing google /overall/ share going up http://www.adept-seo.co.uk/uk-search-engine-usage-statistics-2010.html
Last stat I heard from an SEO was about 90%+ use .co.uk, but I've never seen their source
As a way out finding out the comparision, you could identiify what causes people to not be re-directed correctly, and then work out what % of users that is (as that should be most of everyone unless your dealing with tech crowd)
That would also answer if it is possable or not to track the data.
On boosting your rankings If they're on .com and not showing the uk pages, then they're being treated as an international. In which case anything that would boost traffic from the US for example, would probably work on them as well. Namely Global relivence signals.
Of course, if your UK only, this might be somewhat difficult to do.

Thanks for the insight...
"Google trys to redirect you to .co.uk these days"
Thats just what I said to the client unfortunately it doesn't seem to happen when they search HO HUM.
"googles been going up constantly in the UK"
Would love to know where you got the data from, I cannot find it online.
"i would recomend leaving it as targeting UK users"
I won't change anything unless I have strong evidence to do so, so no worries.
So...
Does anyone have up to date info on UK Google.com V's Google.co.uk traffic?
Anyone know how to push up rankings for UK users searching on Google.com?
Thanks in advance,
Justin

Just a tangental note. Google trys to redirect you to .co.uk these days, that data there is also /very/ out of date, googles been going up constantly in the UK.
On to your (2nd) question, you sand to lose more from losing your UK listing then you stand to gain in relivence elsewhere. People from the UK who are serching on .com still have their location data unless they depersonalise, so I would suspect you'd only see an improvment on those who go out of their way to depresonalise their results, AND use google.com. As such i would recomend leaving it as targeting UK users.
Not entirely sure of a reliable way to track people from the UK who use .com. I would suspect a large portion of those are due to google incorectly resolving the ip e.t.c. to overseas, in which case you would get the same data.

PA Score of 30+ to get Google Features
I was told that my pages would not be awarded a Google Feature until the Page Authority reaches 30. I had Features previously, but no longer. The PA for the URL is currently 22 https://heritageprintingcharlotte.com/products/meter-boards.php I have edited the content, built links and added schema markup to this particular page (and others) I'm looking for thoughts on the 30+ and how to improve PA. Just how accurate is anyone's appraisal on this forum?
When people are discussing what affects their search engine rankings on this particular forum, which has got to be one of the most read on the Internet just how much guesswork is really going on? It seems like God almighty Google works from its own criteria and the rest of us all scrap to guess! I myself in the last week of posted various topics on here and are conflicting reports by so-called experts not that I am being critical for the sake of it. If you to one website and said to all the people on this forum just exactly why is it ranking to a degree for this particular key phrase or not as the case may be would there be any truly accurate knowledgeable answers that will come through and explained the difference? If you have a top 10 of most important things that would influence your rankings that are not guesswork would that be possible to say based on knowledge and expertise? And if so spill the beans what are ? What are the movers and shakers in their particular keyword phrases doing ongoing that's getting them the great results we all want ? Or is the entire subject of how well you rank ultimately not totally understood and only the realms of guesswork based on observation. When I was young I trained as electrician which dealt in facts, it seems like this is not possible with the world of business and search engine rankings?

I'm looking at my initial reports, and it says one of my problems is that I have too many links. should I be concerned? Because part of my site is a forum.

Recent SEOMoz Crawl = Strange Results
Did anyone else get some really strange results in their weekly crawls this week with the campaign tool? Either my ranks sky rocked across three different sites or the tools is busted. Something to the tune of having 4 pages ranking in the top 30 to now having 15-16 pages ranking in the top 30. I'd love to find out it is just all the hard work paying off but i am worried it is the later. Regards - Kyle

How can I Pull OSE Data for Multiple URL's at once
I'm putting together a link prospecting csv (very basic/simple). I'm doing my own manual hunting for link prospects and compiling them in a list in that excel doc. Once I'm done with that, I want to pull OSE data on a larger scale (MozRank, PA, DA, etc.). I know Niel Bosma's SEO tools for Excel exists, but I have a Mac, and it's not available for that. And I can't really pay for any of the big tools right now (ie BuzzStream). Does anybody know of a good tool or way of going about pulling this data in a way that will save time? As opposed to pulling data for each URL one by one. ANY tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Strange Ranking On 1st Page Of Google For Competitive Keyword
Hey all, So, I've noticed a site ranking on the first page in Google for a keyword that I have been targeting for years. The keyword is "mixtapes" and pretty competitive. The site, http://www.newyorkmixtapes.com is ranking around #4 in Google. It seemed odd to me so I looked into the site using some of the tools here. Open Explorer showed that they have minimal links. The actual site is pretty spammy also. Does anyone have any idea how this site ranked so high so fast? Is it ranking because I am located in New York? Does Google still put lots of weight on exact match domains? It's just been bothering me because it's a keyword that I put a lot of work into and then the site rolls around an ranks well for it with barely any backlinks. I just wanted to put it out there and see if I'm missing something obvious. Thanks everyone!
