"Duplicate Page Title" Problem - Please Help
-
Hello,
My website is categorized into 2 main categories.
Sci/Tech (Has 4 sub-categories)
Gadgets(Has 2 sub-categories)
The Crawl diagnostic tool shows "Duplicate Page Title" error on Gadget's sub-categories while there's no error on the Sci/Tech.
I don't really know how to get rid of these errors. Anyone has a solution to this?

hi
Thanks for giving me response, I have analyzed your URL and it is possible in most
eCommerce site that Google find duplicate page title error in subcategory pages.
Google consider these both URL same
(http://www.gizmocrazed.com/category/android/)(http://www.gizmocrazed.com/category/gadgets/android/)
That’s why it places the error but no need to worry about this error
because i found canonical code in your source code.
So no need to worry it is minor error and it does not affect in ranking.

Hello,
Please share your both pages link with us so it will become more easy for us to diagnosis your issue. If you have same content but different URL then by using Webmaster Tool's URL parameters like IDs, =, ? you can detect this error. If your sub categories and Products are different then you have to set unique titles for every pages.

Currently the MozBar tool is showing errors and displaying duplicate description tags IF you are using Twittercard Metadata on your site and perhaps even Facebook Opengraph.
Both of these "alternative" descriptions look similar from a code point of view, and I have had it confirmed to me from Moz staff that it's a bug and they are looking to have this fixed in the next release of the plugin.

Hi
1st of all (to address previous comment) Meta description is not an SEO factor.
"Even though we sometimes use the description meta tag for the snippets we show, we still don't use the description meta tag in our ranking."
Source: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.fr/2009/09/google-does-not-use-keywords-meta-tag.htmlMeta titles however are a major factor and duplicate meta titles might point to Canonicalization issue.
To solve, first investigate (scrape SERP or use Webmaster Tools to identify error source and see if you are dealing with duplicated Titles or Duplicated Content - > similar pages with the same Titles/Content that appear under different URLs)
If Duplicated Titles only, find a way to optimize all Tags on site (a must)
If Duplicated Content, use rel=canonical to solve your issue: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=139394

Take a look at your meta descriptions. Maybe you need to re-write them so that each is unique. As I understand it, the meta descriptions don't matter that much with regard to seo rankings but they do matter in terms of uniquely describing your product or service. Think about it. How can two "different" items logically have the same description.

Should I set blog category/tag pages as "noindex"? If so, how do I prevent "meta noindex" Moz crawl errors for those pages?
From what I can tell, SEO experts recommend setting blog category and tag pages (ie. "http://site.com/blog/tag/some-product") as "noindex, follow" in order to keep the page quality of indexable pages high. However, I just received a slew of critical crawl warnings from Moz for having these pages set to "noindex." Should the pages be indexed? If not, why am I receiving critical crawl warnings from Moz and how do I prevent this?

Keyword stuffing on a shop Brand Collection Pages - would schema.org Microdata helps?
I'm setting up a Shop for a customer and have few questions about Brand Collection Pages in General. I create collection pages for the main Vendors & Designers and since I add their Brand Names on their products I have more than 40 times the Brand name on one Collection Page. When I run Moz On-Page Optimization I get a „B“ classification since Keyword stuffing for the Brand name. I put the Product Informations (brand-name, product-name, product-price) into Schema.org - Microdata and I‘m just curious what is the best practice. Don‘t using the Brand name when using Brand collection pages, using Microdata only on the product page since there starts the conversion, using Micordata whenever it is possible, doesn't matter since the overall sense of a Collection Pages is to have a lot duplicated Brand names per Page. I honestly have no idea but I just believe that Google or other search engines would appreciate if I categorize it as a Product including Brand-name and price. The other Point is, on the Collection Page I just show the Product Details when the User hover over the Image. As far as I understand, Microdata should be visible. Just showing something when hovering over an Image is that visible or not ? Or in other words, does it makes sense to use Microdata in this case? I just guess Yes since it is not totally hidden. This particular Band Name in my case is „L‘Agent“. For whatever reason Moz don‘t understand the apostrophe in L‘Agent and I get the recommendation to use the exact Keyword in the Title, what I already doing. Is there any trick or work-around on apostrophes? Here is the collection Page http://petit-paris.me/collections/l-agent-by-agent-provocateur Thanks Siggi

How to know exactly which page links to a 404 page on my website?
Hi Moz users, Sometimes I get 404 crawl errors using Moz Pro and when my website has a few dozen pages it is hard for me to find the original page that links to a 404 page. Is there a way to find this automatically using Moz or do I have to look for it manually? I just need to find the original link and delete it to fix my 404 issue. Please let me know thank you for you help. -Marc

Duplicate Content being caused by home page?
Hello everyone, I am new to SEOmoz and SEO in general and I have a quick questions. When running a SEO Web Crawler report on my URL, I noticed in the report that my home page (also known as my index page) was listed twice. Here is what the report was showing: www.example.com/ www.example.com/index.php So are these 2 different urls? If so, is this considered duplicate content and should I block crawler access to the index.php? Thanks in advance for the help!
