Why can't we access metrics in the API that are available in the mozbar?
-
For example, the Chrome/Firefox mozbar uses peid (Root Domain External Links) but the api doesn't allow this. I've done a little bit of reverse engeniering and it looks like the accessID for the mozbar (when logged in as a pro member) is "pro-xxxx". Does this mean that each pro account has its own accessid/secret key? If so, when will pro members have access to that?
I've created a tool that I use for deciding which expired domains to buy and it uses all of the free metrics - but I find myself having to do one extra step to get the peid (navigating to ose). It doesn't make much sense that the metric is available to me when I'm using the mozbar logged in as a pro member (which I pay for), but not apart of the API.

Hi Sean,
Please add your API feature requests to the API Feature request forum. We really do look at that when making product development decisions.
You make some great arguments here and I'd love to see them in our feature requests! http://seomoz.zendesk.com/categories/6328-seomoz-apis-and-extras

Unfortunately, the 'Site Intelligence API' (our non-free API) is an offering of ours that's separate from pro membership, and the metric you mention (peid) is not available in the free API. Here's a link to our pricing page for the Site Intelligence API: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/13991147/SEOmoz-API-Pricing.

Hi Sean - just FYI, I've assigned this to one of our engineers who works on Linkscape and the API, Chas. He should be around in the next 12-24 hours to provide a more detailed reply than I can give
BTW - love that your pic features a thumbs up... Kinda makes me want to give you an extra one.

Something I'm missing META Description
When using the SEOMoz on page analysis for "luxury marquee hire" on www.katalysticevents.com it's telling me I have no meta description but my source code includes the following: Line 94 <meta property="<a class="attribute-value">og:description</a>" content="<a class="attribute-value">Katalystic Events - Luxury Marquee Hire</a>" /> Being a real newbie am I missing something here? I've included the info uploaded form my wordpress CMS, why is SEOmoz not picking this meta description up?

API callback parameter
I'm using the free API, and would like to use jQuery to fetch the JSON data outputted by the API. I need to make a JSON-P request, and for this I need to be able to pass some form of callback parameter in the url. I'd like to know if this feature is available, and if so what parameter I need to specify in my request. Of course I could just CURL to the API, but that's really a fallback for if I can't get the data using JS. Thanks

Historical Linkscape/OSE data available?
Hey Mozzerati, I'm curious if there's a way to expose and analyze historical data from each previous Linkscape/OpenSiteExplorer (OSE) update. Essentially, I'm looking for something similar to MajesticSEO's Backlink History tool that can show you both daily links over a short time as well as cumulative links over a long period. I think the utility of such a tool is to see which competitors have gained many links over a short period, signalling that they're engaging in some form of link-building/-buying/-baiting activity. Is there any way to yield this data (other than to record it manually after each Linkscape/OSE update) from SEOmoz PRO tools?
