Google analytics for mobile apps - do we need different id's?
-
Dear all,
if I want to implement Google Analytics for my mobile apps: Do I need different accounts or id's to ensure separate tracking of my website and mobile apps?
How did you do it?
Thanks!

Google Mobile app analytics provides you with all sort of analytics including
-the number of installations
-devices and networks used to access app
-the geographic location and languages spoken by visitors
-in-app purchase totals
-customized tracking of special content, like video
-the number of screens seen per visit, and the order in which visitors move through these screensSet up Mobile App Analytics
Setting up Mobile App Analytics is a two step process that requires "Edit" access to a Google Analytics account and technical knowledge of your app development environment.
Track different apps in separate properties.
Track every app in its own property with a distinct tracking ID to avoid combining data in unintentional ways. Limiting the number of apps tracked in the same property also helps avoid reaching your account limit and triggering.PLEAsE NOTE: If you want to track both apps and websites using Google Analytics, you must use different tracking IDs and separate properties. App tracking data can only appear in designated app profiles, and web tracking data can only appear in designated web profiles. Alternative configurations are not supported and will result in corrupted or incomplete data.
Download the Google Analytics SDK and implement the app tracking ID.
Download the Google Analytics SDK for Android or iOS from the same account screen that provides the tracking ID. Follow either the Developer Guide for Android or Developer Guide for iOS to implement tracking via the SDK, including the tracking ID. This tracking ID collects and send usage data about your mobile app to your Analytics account.Below is a step by step guide this should help you better:
Follow the instructions below to set up a dedicated app property in your Analytics account, the first step you need to complete to use Mobile App Analytics. When you’re ready, move on to Step 2 to finish the set up. Step 2 requires technical knowledge of your app and must be completed by the app developer. A link to the instructions in our Developer Guide are included at the end of Step 1.
To add a new app tracking property to your Google Analytics account:
1. Sign in to your account. Click the Admin tab.
2. Find the account you want to add the new app property to. If you have a lot of accounts, click the All Accounts link just below the menu bar. Use the search box to help find the right account.
3. From the table, click the account name you want to add the property to.
If you want create a new account, click +New Account and skip Step 4. A new property is automatically added to all new accounts.4. Click +New Property (web or app).
5. Select App as the type of property you want to track. App tracking data can only appear in designated app properties, and web tracking data can only appear in designated web properties. If you want to track both apps and websites using Google Analytics, you must use different separate properties. Alternative configurations are not supported and will result in corrupted or incomplete data.
6. Type in an App Name.
If you plan on tracking more than one app in your account, use a very specific and descriptive name.7. Select an Industry Category.
8. Select your Reporting Time Zone.
This only affects the time that appears in your reports.9. Click Get Tracking ID.
10. Download the Google Analytics SDK for Android or iOS and implement the tracking code, including this tracking ID. You can also optionally download either SDK integrated with AdMob.
This should be completed by the app developer. If you are not the developer, give your tracking ID to the developer, and ask them to download the appropriate SDK.
You can always come back to this page to reference the tracking ID for a property or download a another SDK. To see this page again, click Admin in the menu bar, navigate to the property, and click the Tracking Info tab.
When you’re done setting up your tracking, learn About Profiles and how to Set up new profiles in your account. Profiles allow you to filter the raw data you collect in a property so you can customize the data you see in your reports. A profile is automatically created and associated with each property you create, but we recommend creating more.
Hope this helps!

How To Stop Google's "Fetch & Render" From Showing Up In Google Analytics
Hi all, Within Google's "Fetch & Render" (found in Google Search Console) is the ability to index certain pages from my website on-demand. Unfortunately, every time I ask Google to index a page, it registers as a bounce in Google Analytics. Also, if it means anything, my website (www.knowtro.com) is a single-page application, functioning similarly to Google. If you guys know of any solution to this problem, please help! I originally thought that Google would know to block its own Fetch & Render crawler from Google Analytics but that doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks, Austin

Hey guys, any advice on why my 'search analytics' in Google Webmaster tools is blank with no data?
I have added all the website versions into Google web master tools and I have no crawl errors. When I click on Search traffic these pages are blank - search analytics, & Mobile usability. And When I fetch as Google the status is constantly saying me 'temporarily unreachable' - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Conflicting data in Google Analytics
Hi Guys I've been looking at the data for a client in Google analytics and I was wondering if anyone knows why some of the data doesn't tally up. In my case its the following: Under Aquisition
Reporting & Analytics | | Relative
No of Sessions for a Keyword shown in Organic Search tab (compared to)
No of Clicks for a Query in the Search Engine Optimisation tab For example, for a brand term, Google are showing 17 Sessions in Organic Search.
For the same term Google are showing 90 Clicks in the Queries section of Search Engine Optimisation OK, we know that Google are a little cloak and dagger regarding keyword data but surely Sessions and Clicks for the same keyword should be identical unless I'm missing something.0 -
E-commerce data import Google Analytics
Hi there, Since a few weeks we have started a cooperation with a big online wholesale company which now sells our products. I want to import simple E-commerce data: amount of transactions and revenue. More detailed data such as amount of products, name of products, etc. is not necessary in the first place. Now I discovered the 'data import' functionality in Google Analytics but I can't find any suitable option for E-commerce data import. The data from the wholesale company is gathered in a nice export in a separate system, so there should be a way ti import this data into Analytics. Could anybody help me with this? Any advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.
