Are mutiple parts (volumes) of an article bad for SEO?
-
If i have a lengthy article which I decide to split into two separate articles E.g part 1 and part 2 but I target the same keyword in both articles, is this bad from an SEO point of view?
For example, if I publish an article about 'healthy snacks ideas' and call the first article 'Healthy snack ideas part 1' and the second article 'Healthy snacks ideas part 2' in order to differentiate between them, would these two articles effectively just compete against one another? Is using part 1 and part 2 in article titles bad practice?
Essentially what I am wondering is should you never ever have more than one article that is targetting the same keywords or should I just target slightly different keywords for each article even if they are very closely related?

Personally, I don't like long pages of endless text, tend to be over-faced and move on. I much prefer something broken into bite-size chunks.
However, you can't argue with the masses - I can't imagine reading a camera review on DP Review that is 14 pages long, but then all on one page!
There should be no SEO downside whichever way you go, as long as the article is good.

I would look at going for one long page if I were you, that way you are not in danger of competing with yourself to rank for keywords. From my own experience I have seen users prefer one long article. I have also found that as one article is more content rich so it has generated more long tail traffic, partly due to the page becoming stronger, as all links that it has gained point at one page rather than being spread between two - making them stronger in the eyes of the search engines (higher Page Authority for one page article).
Also I have seen where multi-page articles have been put into practice and the second part of the article has been the one that has ranked the highest, not ideal in my opinion.
Here is a recent Q&A that will give you more input as to whether to split your page or not - http://www.seomoz.org/q/determining-when-to-break-a-page-into-multiple-pages

I haven't come across it but I don't see why it would be bad for SEO, if anything you should be rewarded because you are making things easy for the user.
Just as long as you follow the usual SEO techniques, i.e. no duplicate content I think you should be fine.

My articles aren't ranking for keywords
Hello! I hope someone can help me...I've researched my keywords (long and short tail) for my articles but they are showing up as no ranking keywords. It looks like I've only got a few of my 15 articles which actually have keywords within - and I'm not sure why! Please can someone advise? https://www.el-well.com/helping-your-parents-declutter-their-home/ Thank you.

Similar Several Articles or One Article
I have a Q&A project having content of many different topics.
Keyword Research | | kitoks
My question: writing several articles on the same topic will up my rank? For example I work on keyword "Rhassoul clay". So if I write 5 topics about rhassoul clay (400 words) will it be a plus for my webpage or not? Or it is better to write one article with 400 x 5 = 2000 words instead of splitting it into 5 articles?0 -
How can we stop an article ranking so highly?
We secured an article on national newspaper site for a client which now ranks number one for its own branded search term. Since we secured the article (over two years ago) the client has changed the direction of its business so the article is now no longer relevant and is actually causing a lot of trouble for the client. When people search for their business the article is telling readers one thing when their business actually does something else. How can we stop this article ranking so highly?

How to best utilize keywords using All in One SEO
Please forgive my noob questions here. I'm using Wordpress with All in One SEO. I'm launching a new video production company (www.heartwavemedia.com) and have spent the last few months building a website for it in my spare time. Visually and structurally, it's there but I'm just beginning to tackle SEO. I've read a fair amount on the subject but I'm unclear on the following: 1. Regarding the All in One SEO "keywords" field on each page, are more or less keywords better? 2. Should I be using a long list of broad, industry relevant keywords that are plugged into every page (where All in One SEO gives you the "keywords" field) or should each page be targeting a more specific set of keywords? Alternatively, is it appropriate to do that sometimes but not others? For example should I be casting a wide net with my home page and then get laser precise with subsequent pages? 3. Is my goal to pick one (or two or three) keywords that my research leads me to believe I could get some traction with and write copy referencing them across my entire site or to spread them around? 4. Is it absolutely necessary to include keyword rich copy for each page or doe's the "keyword" field address that need? Are they read the same by SEs or do they complement each other? 5. On a scale of 1-10, how infuriating are the previous 4 questions? In the event that your head hasn't exploded, I appreciate your forthcoming advice!

How do I determine international search volume for a search term, beyond google?
I am trying to determine which countries I should be entering into next with my product based on search volume and competition. The issue is that not every country has google as their primary engine, ie. China. How would I go about figuring out volume / competition globally across all engines?

Help with creating SEO video for my industry
Hi There, I'm currently producing some SEO videos for a friend of mine who has a video website for the driving instructor industry and I'm going to make some videos for him on basic SEO (overview of Google, finding keywords, content, google places, meta titles / descriptions, urls with domain name in etc, link building, etc etc).99.9% of people in this industry dont know much about website and SEO etc, so dont have tools such as SEOMOZ, wordtracker etc. Therefore I cant use these tools to get people finding the best keyword which are not too competitive for them. Does anyone know if there is a keyword difficulty tool equivilent out there to SEOMOZ which is free, as im having trouble finding one (Google keyword tool doesnt do this). (I will be mentioning doing the 30 day trial etc, but some people will not like giving their credit card details and then cancelling). Thanks a lot. Antony
