One Page Website vs. Multipage Site, if you want to target one specific Keyword only.
-
Hello!
suppose I want to start a website about, let's say spray adhesives. My aim is to rank on the first page for the keyword "spray adhesive". I don't care about my ranking on more specific keywords like "Tesa spray adhesive" or "3M spray adhesive". My ranking for more general keywords like "glue" is unimportant, too.
So I thought about creating a single-page website, that writes about spray adhesives, the pros & cons of every manufacturer, and shows the best discounts for spray adhesives. Each section can be accessed through a top-navigation, that links via anchors to the individual sections. The page will be updated every day
On the other hand, i could create a blog and write an article for every specific spray adhesive. So I would have a home page that lists the latest articles for every product, with titles like "3M spray adhesive CreativeMount", "3M spray adhesive SprayMount", "Tesa Spray adhesive" ... I will write one article every day
What do you think would be the better strategy? Is there a risk to create competing articles for the keyword "spray adhesive" and thus rank lower if I go with the blog strategy? On the other hand, does google rate singe-page websites lower, because google thinks those websites are less valuable than websites with many pages for the same topic?
Thank you ver much for you help in advance!

Personally I prefer the websites with many pages, I seem easier to rank, besides your site looks very much like an affiliate site which tend to have trouble ranking, why you do not do a single blog, put static the page of discounts and write articles there.?

Inserting Keywords in Web Pages
Hello! Question: When I add chosen keywords to my site (in urls, title tags, meta description, page content, headers, etc), do I need to put the words on my webpage exactly as they appear in my keyword research? So if I searched "therapist bay area" and I want to include these keywords, for example, must I use those words in that order in a sentence or header on my homepage? Or is it enough to include each word somewhere on the page?

Hreflang - Is it needed even if the site is only one language
This topic came up in a discussion I had with a fellow SEO colleague, I don't believe it makes sense to have Hreflang if you don't have a second language but according to my friend they mentioned that it is great if your only targeting one country. Any opinions out in the Moz community? It seems like overkill to me

Stumped: Site No Longer Showing Up for Important Keywords
URL is: www.radianceofpalmbeach.comGreetings All:I have been working on our company's website for months, and I am finally at wit's end. The site was very out-of-date and had unfortunately been built upon some bad links before my arrival. My partner and I have redone the site with SEO best practices in mind: we created new content for the pages, and have been working diligently on correctly organizing the site. Despite everything we have done, our site has plummeted since September in terms of organic search. Here are some of my suspects: Panda/Penguin: a lot of the content of the old site had been copied. We did our best to make our content helpful and original, but I'm not sure we did enough. Also, many backlinks were suspect. I disavowed all that I didn't like Dec. 8. I have seen minor improvement, but not much. Name Change: Around late October, coinciding with one of the algorithm changes, the doctor insisted we change our name from New Radiance Med Spa to New Radiance Cosmetic Center. We noticed overnight tumbling, but it literally happened at the same time many were complaining about Penguin. Pages too far removed from root directory?: We tried to silo the site by category to make it specific, but I'm not sure if we went too far from the root directory. For example, our botox page is: http://www.radianceofpalmbeach.com/services/injectables/neuromodulators/botox-cosmetic/ -- Should it just be ./botox ? Everything is only one link away, so we didn't foresee a problem. No alternate forms of navigation: Our navigation is solely drop-down. Content Issues: Since the site launch, my boss has changed the organization of the site around. I don't think this should be a problem, but I honestly don't know. Technical Issues: We use a Wordpress site, and the designer has been pretty good about making the site clean and without errors, but perhaps there is something I am overlooking? ??: Despite these issues, I feel like our site should be considered better than many of our competitors who nonetheless perform much better than we do on important keyword searches. Type in "liposuction palm beach" or "botox palm beach" and we don't even come on page 1, whereas we used to dominate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as, like I said, we are stumped. I feel like I have looked up every possible problem, and with the above list, we feel frozen as to which direction to turn. Thanks in advance,Michael

How does Google Detect which keywords my website should show up for in the SE?
When I checked my Google Webmaster Tools I found that my website is showing up for keywords that I didn't optimize for ... for example I optimize my website for "funny pictures with captions", and the website is showing up for "funny images with captions". I know that this is good, but the keyword is dancing all around, sometimes I search for "funny pictures with captions" and I show up in the 7th page, and some time I don't show up. and the same goes for the other keyword. of course I am optimizing for more than two keywords but the results is not consistent. my question is how does Google decide which keywords you website should show up for? Is it the on-page keywords?, or is it the off-page anchor text keywords? Thank you in advance ...

Amazon powered e-commerce website automatically generates page titles. Is there an alternative?
Greetings fellow Mozzers, So the product pages pick up the product name and convert it into the page title by default. The development company says this is an Amazon limitation and we can't set custom page titles for product pages. Is this the case? The official documentation from Amazon does not seem to suggest so. Would greatly appreciate any feedback from the community. Thanks, Rishad.

Do https sites rank as well as http sites?
2 Questions: Question 1 - We currently have our entire site running on https (the http pages 301-redirect to the https versions). Assuming that the https pages load as quickly as the http versions, is it a problem that the entire site is https? The only official answer I've been able to find is this 2011 video where Matt Cutts basically says "I don't know" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeFo4ytOk8M Question 2 - Is there any problem with having half our site running on https only (with the http pages redirected), and the other half (our blog) running on http only (with all https blog pages redirected to the http versions)? Thanks in advance for any input! Justin

How would you target alternative names for your product with the use of internal/landing pages?
Recently, there has been some new industry names that have emerged for the type of software we provide and we want to make sure that we rank for those terms (of course!). The 3 names combined are too long for a title tag and would look odd to incl all 3 in the homepage. Any suggestions (or examples) of how this could done without looking spammy? I also don't really know where to put this within our website. e.g. enterprise portal, enterprise information portal (EIP) or corporate portal Any suggestions would be most welcome

Top navigation bar vs. left side - site archetecture
we do eCommerce on BigCommerce platform, I'm using the top navigation menu for: home about policy faq and other standard informations all my products are list in the left navigation Categories menu. What is your advise about this? Should we have the products at the top? The top menu are web pages, not categories.
