Backlinks question: High Domain Authority, Lower Page Authority

We have a possibility of contributing guest blogs (with followed backlinks) to a site with very high domain authority (and highly trafficked), but when we've looked at the blog entires they already have, most of them have a much lower page authority.
How do relevant links from a page with a lower PA but on a domain with a really high DA end up impacting our overall backlink profile?
Can an expert or two give me some advice on what this may mean for us if we choose to go for it? In your opinion, does having lots of relevant links from a site with a much higher domain authority than ourselves (to give you an idea, our domain authority is in the low 60's, this site has a domain authority of almost 90) worth the time/effort/resources unto itself?

Consider if you should be guest posting or if you should instead be putting that same content exclusively on your own site.
If you can place a guest post on this other site and it will deliver 100,000 visitors then giving them your content is probably a good thing.
However, if you instead place that same content on your own site here is what might happen.

Let's say that article pulls in just ten or eleven visitors per day that will be about 4000 visitors per year.

Let's say that just one visitor out of a thousand buys something from your site then in each year it will product four sales.

Let's say that ten visitors out of that thousand tweet or FB share a link to your article. And those pull in another 500 visitors per year.

Let's say that just one visitor in 20,000 will link back to your site.
What will you have at the end of five years? You will have the same number of links that you had from giving your content away.... You will have made about 25 sales and that article is still on your site.
To me it makes an awful lot more sense to develop great content and place it on my own website. I am not going to build the site of my competitor.
On top of that... if you give an article about a productive keyword topic to your competitor and their site outranks yours then you are just handing your lunch over to them.
So, if you are a reasonably smart person who can make great content then don't give it away. Keep it for use exclusively on your own site. The only time that you should be giving it away is if you know that the traffic from the other site is going to be absolutely an astonishing number.
Guest posting is enormously popular so there are going to be lots of people who agree with me. That's OK. They can give me their great content and I will enjoy eating their lunch.

In my opinion DA and PA are metrics that you can use to track your progress over time.
They are not what determine your rankings on google or any other search engine. They don't produce more traffic. They don't increase conversions. (If you watch the questions on Q&A you will see almost daily people posting.... "WAH! my site has better DA and PA and they are beating me!" That should tell you that Google uses something else to rank websites.)
If you want to know how much respect Google has for a particular website, just go look at how that site is treated in the SERPs.
If you want to know what people think about the website just visit the site yourself and decide if YOU think they are doing a great job or if they are farting around. Don't you think that evidence is more robust than a couple of flat numbers?
You probably know a lot more about farms and gardens than Google or an algo that produces a couple of flat numbers.
If you are a reasonably smart person who knows an industry then shouldn't you bet on yourself rather than on calculations that know nothing?
And, if you have that expertise then maybe you should be keeping your valuable content for your own site instead of giving it away.... and this is more important that the DA/PA question.

Paginated Pages Page Depth
Hi Everyone, I was wondering how Google counts the page depth on paginated pages. DeepCrawl is showing our primary pages as being 6+ levels deep, but without the blog or with an infinite scroll on the /blog/ page, I believe it would be only 2 or 3 levels deep. Using Moz's blog as an example, is https://mza.seotoolninja.com/blog?page=2 treated to be on the same level in terms of page depth as https://mza.seotoolninja.com/blog? If so is it the https://site.comcom/blog" /> and https://site.com/blog?page=3" /> code that helps Google recognize this? Or does Google treat the page depth the same way that DeepCrawl is showing it with the blog posts on page 2 being +1 in page depth compared to the ones on page 1, for example? Thanks, Andy

Does redirecting from a "bad" domain "infect" the new domain?
Hi all, So a complicated question that requires a little background. I bought unseenjapan.com to serve as a legitimate news site about a year ago. Social media and content growth has been good. Unfortunately, one thing I didn't realize when I bought this domain was that it used to be a porn site. I've managed to muck out some of the damage already - primarily, I got major vendors like Macafee and OpenDNS to remove the "porn" categorization, which has unblocked the site at most schools & locations w/ public wifi. The sticky bit, however, is Google. Google has the domain filtered under SafeSearch, which means we're losing - and will continue to lose - a ton of organic traffic. I'm trying to figure out how to deal with this, and appeal the decision. Unfortunately, Google's Reconsideration Request form currently doesn't work unless your site has an existing manual action against it (mine does not). I've also heard such requests, even if I did figure out how to make them, often just get ignored for months on end. Now, I have a back up plan. I've registered unseen-japan.com, and I could just move my domain over to the new domain if I can't get this issue resolved. It would allow me to be on a domain with a clean history while not having to change my brand. But if I do that, and I set up 301 redirects from the former domain, will it simply cause the new domain to be perceived as an "adult" domain by Google? I.e., will the former URL's bad reputation carry over to the new one? I haven't made a decision one way or the other yet, so any insights are appreciated.

My main site is www.isacleanse.com.au (Obviously targeted to Australian Market) and also www.isacleanse.co.nz targeted to NZ. The main Keywords im targeting are 'Isagenix' for both and also Isagenix Australia, Isagenix Perth, Sydney (Australian cities) and Isagenix NZ, Isagenix New Zealand, Isagenix Auckland etc.. for NZ The Australian site gets a lot more traffic and Australian market gets a lot more searches - I also have a section www.isacleanse.com.au/isagenix-new-zealand/ on the Australian site. The question is am I best off redirrecting the .co.nz domain completley to the Australian Domain to give it extra SEO Juice?0 -
No Domain Authority after 6 weeks
Hi, We have just launched a new e-commerce site and 301'd a lot of the products and categories to the new site. I have also added a link or 2 from other domains. We launched it on 10th of June - but still using site explorer, there is no domain authority showing - just a 1. Why is that? Any ideas?

Multiple Author Rich Snippets On A Q&A Forum Page
Hi, I work on a site that has a robust q&a forum. Members post questions and other members answer the questions. The answers can be lengthy, often by experts with Google+ pages and almost always by multiple member/commenters answering a particular question. Much like Moz's forum here. In order to get rich snippets results in search for a single Q&A page, what would happen if each of, for instance, 10 commenters on a page, were tagged as author? After all, the q/a forum pages have many authors, each as author of their own comments. Or, should I pick one comment out of many and call that member/commenter the author or something else? If it matters, the person asking the question in the forum is almost always not the expert providing a ton of detailed content. Also, a question might be 8 words. One answer might be 25 to 500 or more and their might be 5 to 10 different answers. Thanks! Cheers... Darcy

'Select your country' page leading to high Temporary Redirects
Hello all, I manage an ecommerce website and product prices are shown depending on what country you select. When a user does a product search or lands on a product page, they are immediately redirected to a 'select your country' page. After selecting their option, the user is redirected back to the product or search result page. The problem I face is that, this is leading to a high 'Temporary Redirects' list in my crawl diagnostic page. Looking at the list of temporary redirects, 90% are users being bounced to a 'select your country' page. Any advice to tackle this? Have you guys faced anything similar? Thanks Cyto

How does a competing website with clearly black hat style SEO tactics, have a far higher domain authority than our website that only uses legitimate link building tactics?
Through SEO Moz link analysis tools, we looked at a competing websites external followed links and discovered a large number of links going to Blog pages with domain authorities in the 90's (their blog page authorities were between 40 and 60), however the single blog post written by this website was exactly the same in every instance and had been posted in August 2011. Some of these blog sites had 160 or so links linking back to this competing website whose domain authority is 49 while ours is 28, their Moz Trust is 5.43 while ours is 5.18. An example of some of the blogs that link to the competing website are: http://advocacy.mit.edu/coulter/blog/?p=13 http://pest-control-termite-inspection.posterous.com/\ However many of these links are "no follow" and yet still show up on Open Site Explorer as some of this competing websites top linking pages. Admittedly, they have 584 linking root domains while we have only 35, but if most of them are the kind of websites posted above, we don't understand how Google is rewarding them with a higher domain authority. Our website is www.anteater.com.au Are these tactics now the only way to get ahead?

How do I fix the error duplicate page content and duplicate page title?
On my site www.millsheating.co.uk I have the error message as per the question title.
