How can I track the traffic source/keyword of form submissions?
-
I'm using Google Analytics on www.nhfinehomes.com and would like to track the source of leads submitted via form submissions. Ideally, I could track if the lead originated from organic search (and what keyword phrase), PPC, referral links, etc. Is this possible with Google Analytics and if so, can anyone point to some documentation on how to do this or better yet someone who can help me set this up? This site is running ASP.NET and uses JQuery so there is not a 'traditional' thank you page that I can reference. I'm not a programmer and do not pretend to be one!
Thanks in advance.

Hi Link,
You can try www.myconversionbrain.com It does exactly that so that you can know which leads came from which keyword, adgroup, campaign. It also tracks which display partner or remarketing site generated the lead. Basically it tracks down all the source traffic (Google organic, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, referring links etc) for all the leads that you get automatically.
Plus it helps managing your leads so you can see which keyword delivered the best ROI and which ones waste your money. So you can see the status of the lead from the initial stage of the closing. It also does other cool things like notifying you immediately once your leads come back to your website again and you will see which page the lead inquired on as well as which pages he has been to (before and after inquiry).
If you want a free free demo (10-15 min) let me know and I would be happy to show you using screenshare.
Cheers

Google Analytics does offer conversion tracking for all sources of traffic. You can set up Goals in GA and use a virtual pageview to load anytime the "Success" message is displayed to the user via AJAX. This might help - http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1032720
As for using Convertable on your site, it should work on http://www.nhfinehomes.com/Real_Estate/Canterbury/residential/4166838. Convertable actually uses AJAX/JQuery to display the success message so there is no traditional Thank You page either. If you have any other questions or need help signing up, feel free to email me at [email protected].

Looks like Conversation tracking only works for AdWords traffic. I want to to track lead sources for all forms of traffic. Your tool looks rock star. Most of my leads come from the Ask a Question form on the right side of my listing details pages like http://www.nhfinehomes.com/Real_Estate/Canterbury/residential/4166838 However, this form uses jQuery instead of traditional forms that take the user to a success page. Would your tool still work with my technology set up?

You can use Google Analytics conversion tracking if you haven't set it up already - http://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375435/?hl=en
Also, if you would like to look up the source of any individual lead and see the source of the lead included with the lead emails, I would suggest checking out http://convertable.com which is a free tool that does exactly this (full disclosure - Convertable is my project!)

Multiple Thank You pages with one Contact form - PPC
Hi everyone,
Conversion Rate Optimization | | Carla_Dawson
I am running a PPC (Google Adwords Campaign) and it is pretty big. I have about 25 landing pages each with a Contact Form. I need the contact form to go to a unique thank you page for each landing page to measure conversions via Google Adwords. In other words I need the contact form on submission to redirect to a specific and unique thank you page that I can define. The contact form needs to be the same for all landing pages to avoid having to produce 25 landing pages. I am ok with producing 25 Example
http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-1 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-1 http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-2 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-2 http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-3 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-3 Can someone help me with this?
Thanks https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/0 -

How to track full path of website visitors until conversion, not just landing page?
hi, This is my first question in the forums and I'm looking forward to be part of a great SEO community. I was wondering ow to track full path of website visitors until conversion, not just landing page? I've been using Wordpress jetpack site stats for while, which shows great data like keywords used in google, landing page etc. But I would like to have access to the full path for each separate visitors (including their IP address and country is possible) to improve my website and conversions. Example: step 1: Visitor X types "seo" on Google step 2: visitor lands on my homepage step 3: visitor visits to order page and buys Is there such tool available as a Wordpress plugin? Or do I have to use Google analytics for this? thank you for your help, Marc

Shorter checkout form converts better? Or can it be harmful?
I've frequently read that the shorter the checkout form the better. My checkout form has the following fields: First name Last name Email Username Password Retype password Card number Card expiration date CVV code Billing street Billing city Billing state Billing zip Here's the thing. Since it's a web-app, I don't need the "billing address" as I'm not physically shipping them anything. Should I remove it? The no-brainer answer seems to be "yes", but I'm wondering if folks don't see any billing address fields, it may look suspicious. Conversions for having it and not don't seem to make much difference, so I suppose I'm looking for some tie-breaker opinions. The "password" and "retype password" fields could be eliminated by emailing the user's a system-generated password. But once again, could a user see this as odd or suspicious and then abandon? Even if I tell them I'll be emailing them a password? They could be sensitive thinking we'd email the wrong email address due to system error or their own typo. I could also eliminate the CVV and not validate against that. But once again, could a user seeing the CVV gone become wary? As much as I'd like to have "guest checkout' it's not feasible. The app is tied to a logged in account, which would also make eliminating the "username" impossible. Based on all the above, I could trim down the form considerably, but would I be doing more harm than good? I could A/B test it, but I don't believe I have a sufficient number of users to test against. Everything I buy, physical or online app, has an address field, so perhaps folks are accustomed to filling out this stuff and I should just keep it to align with user expectations? Thanks.

For the hotel website, should i make homepage banner/slideshow in flash or javascript
Hello Sir, We have build hotel website and enabled google analytics on that. When we were going through the report of google analytics it shows that 69% have java and other 31% visitor has no java. We have designed Slideshow/banner on home page which shows different pictures of hotel which is in javascript. My question is as per google analytics report 31% have no java, that means they are not able to see that slideshow/banner of hotel pictures? is this the reason for 23% bounce rate on our website? Please help on this because I have spend nights on seo and tried lot of goal conversion techniques with different landing pages. I will heartily appreciate you response. Thanks, Bandro.
