Rel=author: inactive google+ better than no authorship?
-
some doubts about implementing rel=author:
-
I have no google+ account so far and I have no intention to start activities in google+. Shall I still add rel=author and create a new empty google+ account (without google+ activity but using gmail) or would you recommend rather not to add rel=author in this case?

I have 2 sites ranking in top10 SERP for my targeted keyword. One online shop and on another domain a non-commercial site with information on the topic. Would you rather associate same or different google+ accounts (from different people) with these two sites for both rel=author and rel=publisher?
thanks.

What doubts?
" I have no google+ account so far and I have no intention to start activities in google+.

Why would you not ever want to use Google+ you need it for local and it's been a stream your stuff anyway which would most likely unless you set it not to. Take away from you in what way? why would you not want more publicity?
you should assign a different Google plus account to each domain. Simply by registering with Google you can do that effectively and then I would actually make a business page for your business on Google plus. I don't know why you don't care to do so it is only getting bigger and Google loves Google so I would strongly recommend you post away on Google plus under 2 different domain names.

The theme behind this real estate site is the city itself, which is quite clever and applicable to Manhattan. Our home page as well as other URLs use lots of text. If we reduce text and use more images to make the pages more engaging, will our organic ranking decline? If we reduce text can we compensate by fuller completion of meta tags? Any thoughts???0 -

Can using the Google Keywords tool and/or SEOmoz cause problems for my company's IP address?
I just started with a company a few weeks back, working on-site doing SEO work. I've been using SEOmoz as well as Google Adwords' Keywords tool. I just got a message from one of our reps saying that people at the office (and this is a huge office) have reported tons of CAPTCHAs being thrown up frequently. I told them I had been running searches with Google Keywords tool and SEOmoz, but would that really cause that much of a problem? Is there anything I can do in order to fix this, some keyword finders that won't get me in trouble, etc.?

Testing Google Tag Manager
Is there a way to test if the Google Tag Manager is set up correctly? Am I right in thinking that the only code that will be output on the page will be the actual embed code, eg: SCRIPT REMOVED Cant work out if there is an issue with what has been set in the account of if there is a problem with how the code has been added to the page..

Google Plus account - Should I use Brand or Product Type
Hi Let's assume that our company's name is "Smith Computers" and we specialize in Ultrabooks (for those who don't know - super light and slim computers - a niche within computers for the matter). Under which name would you open the Plus account - Smith Computers Ultrabooks Smith Ultrabooks Smith Ultrabooks Computers The example is not 100% but the question remains - No one knows Smith Computers and even if we turn up in search results for computers, the customers are not looking for our type products.

However, it is our brand name! Ultrabooks - I assume it will help us gain followers faster but will be hard to brand. The followers will be people who like the product and not the company but might be good people to sell to in the future. I'd say that option 3 is half branding and option 4 is 75% branding 🙂
Both will also have good chances to pop up in search results. The company at hand is a family owned business. We do not plan to rule the industry but rather taking it to the next level. We do not count on having thousands of people searching Google for "Smith Computers" like Best Buy etc. Please consider that at the end we want to use it both for promoting our brand (slowly) but also (and maybe mainly) SEO (by getting more people that click +1 onsite). We currently have lots of Facebook followers but naturally they only Like and not +1 Please help...0 -

Why does Google only show the review stars for some listings in the Places results
I have a client who shows up in the Places results for his targeted keyword phrase, but one of his competitors' listing shows 5 gold stars next to the reviews which causes him to stand out visually. I was under the impression that at one time the stars only showed for listings that had official Google reviews, but the other listings in the results also have "Google Reviews" but no stars.
