Expanding into different territories
-
We have a client in the mortgage industry that has recently been licensed in multiple states, but they only have one office (for which their Google places page is claimed). We have seen much success for the region their office is located in, but we want to expand our presence both for general terms and different region specific terms. How can we help them rank in the various states that they are newly associate with?

Dylan,
Building up depth of unique quality localized content, combined with links and citations from sites that themselves are devoted to each location / area pointing to that localized content is vital. How much you'll need depends on the competition in each local market. Some might be easier to break into than others.
It's also easier to go after regions as opposed to individual cities or towns. So here where I live/work, it's "Bay area" and "San Francisco Bay Area", instead of just San Francisco or just Marin County.

Canonical: Same content but different countries
I'm building a website that has content made for specific countries. The url format is: MyWebsite.com/<country name="">/</country> Some of the pages for <specific url="">are the same for different countries, the <specific url="">would be the same as well. The only difference would be the <country name="">.</country></specific></specific> How do I deal with canonical issues to avoid Google thinking I'm presenting the same content?

Why are http and https pages showing different domain/page authorities?
My website www.aquatell.com was recently moved to the Shopify platform. We chose to use the http domain, because we didn't want to change too much, too quickly by moving to https. Only our shopping cart is using https protocol. We noticed however, that https versions of our non-cart pages were being indexed, so we created canonical tags to point the https version of a page to the http version. What's got me puzzled though, is when I use open site explorer to look at domain/page authority values, I get different scores for the http vs. https version. And the https version is always better. Example: http://www.aquatell.com DA = 21 and https://www.aquatell.com DA = 27. Can somebody please help me make sense of this? Thanks,

Does using keywords in the top level domain make any difference to SEO rankingsq
i am setting up a new company and I need to register a domain name, is there any advantage to using the full name of the company in the domain name? I know it used to be important but does it still make a difference? If possible I would like to just use say the first letter of each of the 3 words instead what will amount to 23 letters but of it makes a difference then 23 letters it will have to be. Thanks

Whats wrong with meta title? In SERP it looks different.
Hi, can someone tell me why my meta titles looks different in SERP? I use Prestashop CMS and meta title in many pages looks similair to this one: Puodų Rinkiniai | Puodai | Iki -40% Akcija | ŠefoSvajonė.lt And in SERP it looks like this: Puodų Rinkiniai - sefosvajone.lt. sefosvajone.lt Why can this be? Its freshly indexed. Rather than set Meta Title text it shows just name of the Product or Category and then shops adress twice or sometimes once. Thanks!

Different Title Tag and Page Headline
My editorial team won't budge with their headlines which are excruciatingly vague ... But I have managed to convince them to let me optimize the title tags and the URLs. Is this sub-optimal or are there some benefits to having a title tag that varies from the page headline or what our dev team calls the "reader friendly" title? For example... Their headline: Increase Your Retirement by 20% with This Safe, Simple Strategy My title tag: Compound Returns: How to Increase Your Retirement 20% Thanks for the help, E

Can I add a blog to different pages of my site?
I would like to ad a blog to a few different pages of my site, is this possible? I would prefer it to not be a stand alone blog, because I am pretty sure it would begin to outrank my landing pages in search results. I built my site using dreamweaver, but I have seen a reference somewhere to a utility for adding a word press blog to an existing site? This site seems to be doing what I had in mind? http://www.drynclean.com/

I Have a print website www.print.dor2dor.com and we print 100's of products. I was wandering what is the best way to rank high for severall keywords as we dont want to just rank high for printing because when people are searching they normally type in the product they are looking for with printing at the end of it.
