E-Commerce Selling Air Filter. Only 3 Qualities Options in 50 Sizes, Total 150 items. HELP!!!
-
My online store is selling air furnace filters.
-
We only have 3 different filters to sell. (standard, mid-range quality and high quality)
-
Each filters is available in 50 different sizes.
-
This is a TOTAL of 150 products or 3 products with 50 options!!!
My store is setup with the ''150 products'' option.
MY PROBLEMS:
All the page Title are the same, only the filter is change in the page title.
ex:
10x20x1 furnace filters - shop at furnace filters canada
12x20x1 furnace filters - shop at furnace filters canada
14x20x1 furnace filters - shop at furnace filters canada
ect...
It is the same with the Meta Description, all the same only the size change.
It is the same with the product description, all the same, only the size is changing.
Trying to come out with 150 different page title, meta and product description is almost impossible.
And you know like me, most shoppers will use there filters sizes in there keywords search term or phrase.
YES, I have duplicate content all over my store.
Is there a solution to this?
This is my online store

I don't agree with this response. Sorry Dana.
BigBlaze is going to lose rankings very easily. Also, listen to Matt Cutts here talk about duplicate content: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z07IfCtYbLw
Also watch this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFNK8gSDxHA
If you can't do 150 product pages with a unique TITLE nor DESCRIPTION, then you don't deserve to rank. Do 10 per day. Your problem will be over in 15 days. After that, start writing a couple paragraphs of original content of why your service is better than the competitors (even if you don't have competitors).
You are in this for the long haul.
Your TITLE - 10x20x1 furnace filters - shop at furnace filters canada
My example TITLE - 10x20x1 Furnace Filters - Breathe Clean Healthy Air & Avoid Allergies.

Hi BigBlaze,
This is a very common scenario in e-Commerce. For example, microphone and speaker cables come in hundreds of different lengths. Writing Pulitzer-quality content for pages like these is absolutely not necessary in order for pages like these to do well. In addition to that, people shopping for items like these do not expect to land on a page filled with paragraphs of content with flowery hyperbole. They want to find what they need, put it in their cart and checkout.
For this reason, your site isn't as bad as you might think. The fact that your titles are all the same I don't consider to be a problem at all because you have made them unique by including the furnace filter size. Same with the meta descriptions. As long as they are unique and do a good job of describing what's on the page, these aren't really duplicate content either.
If you want to work on unique content creation or go after longer-tailed search, you might consider adding some robust FAQ pages or even a blog.
The bottom line is your site isn't about content so much as it is about selling furnace filters. Even if you spent a lot of time re-working your product descriptions so they were all "unique," they are still going to be substantially similar in Google's eyes (and to users) anyway. I mean, it's really not realistic to wax poetic about furnace filters, although I'm sure someone's tried!
I'd concentrate on making the sizes easy to find and purchase process quick and painless. If you get good conversions and a lower than average bounce rate and good customer reviews, you'll be sitting pretty in the SERPs I think.

I´d love to know your thoughts about this particular issue: Vtex is top3 e-commerce system in brazil. ( issue is huge) the system do not use 4XX responde codes If there is a error page, they just redirect it to a search page with 200 code. in Google index we can find a lot of "empty" pages ( indexed error pagess) We can´t use noindex for them Example:

New my domain.com/blog option vs. my blog.mydomain.com option
Our e-commerce site has been on Big Commerce for about a year now. One thing many SEO folks had told us is that having a blog located at /blog was going to help more than a subdomain blog. option. BC has never had the option to have a blog hosted on their platform (/blog) until now. I am now wondering, since we have lost traffic in the past and are trying everything we can to regain it, if we should purchase the Wordpress Site Redirect upgrade and move the subdomain blog (blog.) to the new site option /blog. Any help or feedback from you is very much appreciated. I have attached a screenshot of our main website vs. our blog from Open Site Explorer in case it helps anything. I29Tw5P

Rankings dropped - lost 3,000 backlinks (but from same domain)
lost a lot of rankings. 2 things have happened to my site over the past 2 weeks and I am trying to establish which may be the case: My site has 30.000 links from a top news site (on main bar across all pages - not for SEO, it just happened). My site lost 3,000 links from this site last week, when they were doing some cleaning up, which means I still have 25,000+ links from them. My site - job site - has published another job board's jobs so I get paid per click. This means ratio of my job vs external jobs is 1 to 5. So basically, I added last week 5 times more jobs that is already live on external site to get paid per click. In other words, my own site's unique content went down big time. Which of the 2 is more likely to cause the massive drop in rankings since last night?

Getting a Facebox Item De-Indexed
Hello all, Select pages on a website I manage utilizes Facebox lightbox elements for additional information. These Faceboxes have been indexed as their own pages by Google. Unfortunately, when they were created, there is no call to action or navigation elements or anything. So I would prefer that Google not index them since it is a pretty horrible user experience if you navigate to one of these Faceboxes directly. I have tossed up no-index tags on each about three weeks ago, but they are still being indexed at present. Is there any tips or tricks that anyone has to handle this scenario or any ideas that I am not thinking of outside of just no-indexing them? Thanks in advance!

What is the proper way to display e-commerce product guides? PDF / JPG?
Hi, On each product page in my e-commerce site, I have a link to show a certificate of authenticity for the product. (similar to any guide in an e-commerce site). I also have the details as plain text on the page, but this is required. What is the correct way to show it, using PDF or JPG? Thanks
