Is exact match in FWE working right?
-
When I check the mentions returned by FWE using exact match on a two word phrase, usually only one word is matched. I found this because some of the pages returned as mentions seemed unusual to me. So I started looking through the results and found that the exact match phrase was not on the page returned in many cases. This was the same with AND queries where they were returning results as OR. This is pretty important for brand misspellings where people break the brand name into two words. Am I missing something here?

Keyword rankings and main company tagline not matching
I have a question about keywords rankings and on page keywords. I don't rank very well for the keyword "Nutcracker". But, my tag line is "Your one stop Nutcracker and Ballet Gifts source". One of my most important keywords is "Nutcrackers" (see the s 😉 ) and I hot hit really hard in my rankings with the google algorithm update. Almost a 30 position difference from one day to the next. Am I shooting myself in the foot by having Nutcracker being in the forefront, even though my chances of ranking for that are very low as there is high competition with more actual "The Nutcracker" related content. I do have the word "nutcrackers" on my home page...but all of a sudden I feel like i'm wasting space, or I should have made the tagline "Your one stop Nutcrackers and Ballet Gifts source". It just doesn't sound as good. I just recently dove headfirst into SEO and moz, so I consider myself a noob, but I learn quite quickly. Thank you for your help! Moz campaign works around my robots.txt settings
My robots.txt file looks like this: User-agent: * Disallow: /*? Disallow: /search So, it should block (deindex) all dynamic URLs. If I check this url in Google: site:http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 Google tells me: A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more. So far so good. Now, I ran a Moz SEO campaign and I got a bunch of duplicate page content errors. One of the links is this one: http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 (the same I tested in Google and it told me that the page is blocked by robots.txt which I want) So, it makes me think that Moz campaigns check files regardless of what robots.txt say? It’s my understanding User-agent: * should forbid Rogerbot from crawling as well. Am I missing something?

Working with Open Site Explorer
Hi everyone, I'm new to keyword analysis, and am in the process of consuming a lot of SEOmoz articles and resources on the subject. I wanted to see if I'm correct in my analysis of two compared sites, and hope you can shed some light on the matter. I've been to the Google Keyword Tool and looked for my informational keywords for the project I'm working on, since the user intent is all about information. A not-so-great keyword phrase I've found with 12,100 local monthly searches is: "programa de inglês" (english programme) I'm just using this as a quick example. I have performed a Google search query for the above phrase from google.com.br (Brazil), and I'm comparing the #2 and #4 results from the 1st page of the SERPs which are: #2) www.programa-ingles.net and #4) http://www.baixaki.com.br/categorias/educacao-e-diversao.htm. What's confusing me is that in Open Site Explorer, the #4 result gets a much higher page authority compared to the #2 result, and beats #2 on every category except for internal–external link ratio and all the social categories. Here's an image attached of the comparison. Is it the fact that the external links of #2 account for 100% of the links pointing to it, or that the #2 position beats (rather pitifully) #5 on social sharing, or is it something that I've not stumbled across yet? Thanks in advance for helping out a n00b. 6HU6hBi.png

Is the on page optimization tool not working?
i received a grade f for one of my keywords/page. i corrected some of the points but when i tried to submit the form again, it doesn't check off those corrected items. is there something wrong with the tool right now? also, how does the tool work if i'm targeting 2 different keywords for one page? e.g. digital marketing philippines and digital marketing agency philippines I'm pretty sure one of the keywords will have problems with at least 3 critical and high importance on page factors (broad keyword usage in page title, exact keyword usage in page title, etc.) is there an effect if there's a critical factor left unchecked because using both keywords in the title might look redundant?
