Temporary Redirects
-
Hi, I've noticed that most of my temporary redirects are the cause of this parameter.
I also noticed that almost all of my duplicate content and duplicate titles are the cause of this parameter. I tried going into google webmasters, but they say i don't need to change anything. How do I get rid of this parameter because it seems to be causing a lot of errors and warning for me.
-
Really easy, just: s. It probably will already be visible in the parameters found by GWT itself.
-
Should I have it so that GoogleBot does not crawl those links? Since I want to avoid duplicates?
-
What is the parameter I should use to handle this?
-
You add the canonical tags to the head of your HTML documents, in this article from the Google Webmaster Tools help section it's explained how you do this: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139394?hl=en
-
How do you add canonical tags to pages?
-
Webmaster Tools parameter handleing and also add canonical tags to all of your pages and this combination will care care of your issue.

Hi
It looks like you don't want to have search engines index internal search results from your website.
You could achieve this a couple of ways:
- By adding the meta noindex tag to your search results pages (see "Meta Robots" on this page)
- By using Parameter Handling within Google Webmaster Tools
Hope that's helpful

Redirection
Hi I used to have an online shop at https://shop.domain.co.uk. I have since done a new website and and want to divert all traffic to https://domain.co.uk/shoppage. The old shop was a subdomain but the new site has a shop on the normal domain. In Moz I am getting a lot of errors with missing descriptions and URL too long. so for example one of the urls <dl class="crawl-page-details-list"> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">https://shop.domain.co.uk/product-category/great-merchandise/?product_order=desc are like this. I would like to redirect them all to the new shop page. </dd> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">The missing descriptions are all similar. </dd> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">Is there a way I can redirect all these issues without doing them manually?</dd> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">Thanks </dd> </dl>

If I have set up my www as a cname, do I still need to add a redirect?
Hello, I am trying to minimize my redirect chains that have been popping up in my Moz crawl issues. So I'd like to get clear on some best practices. I have a few clients that are getting their first redesign in a while. We are moving into Wordpress from good ole .html files. So I've installed a redirection plug in to create 301 redirects for those .html versions of the pages. But apparently I am already redirecting from www to non-www. I have the www set up as a CNAME going to the IP address - is that counting as the redirection? Sometimes though, the www is set up by making it an A record. Is one way better than the other? Finally, I'm forcing https for all my new sites now. Is whatever the host does to "force" https also counting as a redirect and contributing to my chain? Any advice will be appreciated!

Rel=canonical "redirects" to double links
Our devs have set up rel=canonical on our website. First they used relative links href="/dir1/dir2/dir3" for the page http://www.mysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3/?detail1=1?detail2=2 meaning that it will redirect to http://www.mysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3, but no luck, the MOZ dashboard showed the tag value to be http://www.mysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3/dir1/dir2/dir3, then we have decided to rewrite the code, and now the canonical to http://wwwmysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3/?detail1=1?detail2=2 looks like href="http://www.mysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3/" but the tag on MOZ looks like http://www.mysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3http://www.mysite.com/dir1/dir2/dir3. So what is the problem? I really got a problem or MOZ does? The code on website looks exactly like href="http://www.aaa.com/en/bbb/ccc/vvv/nnn/" rel="canonical" /> for the page http://www.aaa.com/en/bbb/ccc/vvv/nnn/

Impact of 301-redirected domains on OSE Metrics
When looking at the OSE metrics (DA, PA, Number Linking RDs etc.) is it purely based on OSEs evaluation of the specific domain or will it take into account links that have been 301-redirected to the domain?

How can I update On Page Optimization Reports following 301 redirect?
A few weeks ago I ran the SEOMoz On Page Optimization Reports for one of my sites. At the time, the site homepage was duplicated .com/ and .com/index.html (I know!). The On Page Optimisation Reports I ran at the time obviously included both as individual pages. I've now corrected the duplicate issue with a 301 but the On Page Optimization Reports are still looking at the rankings for .com/index.html and therefore showing "not in top 50" for keywords where I'm actually ranking 1st - any idea how I can get the reports to update so they don't continue to look for .com/index.html? Thanks!
