Great SEO Agency
-
Hi again all,
I have appreciated all the help from the community as we are rebuilding our site. Currently we are looking for a great SEO consulting firm to help us with a number of key SEO related tasks and strategies. I have looked through the recommended list MOZ provides: http://moz.com/community/recommended, but I wanted to get everyone's take on who they thought was the "best" - on that list or otherwise. We are looking for an agency that can help us optimize the site, create an ongoing strategy, help with link building, help with sitemap creation and management (5 million + pages, primarily dynamic) and possibly help with content.
Anyone have recommendations they could share?
Thanks
David

based on everything i have seen, and if you have millions of pages. you cannot go wrong with Distilled.
Major respect for them! They know their stuff, and they are super good at preaching what they do as well. which means what they do must be the cream of the crop.
just my 2 cents, really do not know very many of them, but I can tell you these guys are true pros.

Well I think when you say "possibly help with content" you are on the right track but you should focus more on which of these agencies can DEFINITELY help with content, because most of the other things you are looking for (google placement, site traffic, etc) are all results of awesome content creation and curation. That's what the best SEM agency will do for you.
Personally I am partial to Portent and Distilled because I know some of the fine people there and they are so awesome at all of the aforementioned and more. They have true authorities on the matter working for and running their companies. They are top-dollar, however, but worth every penny.
Honestly they are not the end-all be-all. There are many great SEM companies out there. That list is a great place to start. But mostly I just wanted to say you should really think about who can create the right kind of content for your brand and help you develop your messaging best.

What Keeps In-House SEOs Up @ Night
We are writing a research summary piece on in-house seo strategies. We're not trying to solve the worlds problems - we simply want to know what problems you face and how you try and solve them. We've broken our research into three key areas (training, value, and measurement). We would greatly appreciate your insights, thoughts, and recommendations. We will share our final paper (with sources) when completed. Here are the questions we're asking: How do you train and support your seo team? How do you show SEO value in the wake of Google algo changes including (keyword not provided)? How can SEO show value to other parts of the organization including market research, product managers, channel managers, etc? What should you be measuring and who should reports go to? Does Penguin Help Negative SEO?
With negative link targeting seeming to become more and more of a ‘standard practice’ for more and more agencies and freelance SEOs (I, for one, have had to use the disavow tool far more than I ever thought I would) and the fact that there are more “link building services” that really only build ‘crap’ links than there were when that type of link building worked, I am honestly a bit afraid that Google is really just pushing SEO’s to the ‘dark side’ or at least handing black hat link builders a great tool for bringing down the competition. I had one SEO actually say to me “If my client can’t recover than at least I can target everyone that jumped ahead of them and only spend around $300 on bad link building”. This came from someone I NEVER thought would say anything of the sort and really got me to thinking’ “will this be the future of SEO?” I know the answer is no but still, it seems more and more people are just throwing their hands up and targeting competition rather than working on their own websites and with updates like Penguin I am afraid that more of my time will be spent disavowing links than building them.

Has anyone been to SMX or any other SEO Conference?
Hello All, I have been given the opportunity to go to several conferences. But like most SEO guys, I have a tone of work, and need to use my time sparingly. The one conference that has peaked my interest is SMX. I was wondering if anyone has been to SMX before and if they recommend it. Also if anyone has any other conferences they would recommend, preferrably on the east coast, that would be interesting please let me know. Any answers are appreciated. Thank you.

What is the best place to learn reputation management, with regards to SEO
I have a new client that needs help with a bad review. Of course it may not be able to be deleted, but I have started to scratch the surface on how to help 'push it down' using SEO. Can any offer advice on a definitive source of learning reputation management? Many thanks!

SEO hosting (EU/Spanish IP's) any1?
Hello all, I'm currently trying to find a great hosting company which can offer a fast and stable service and more important, with the possibility of geolocalizing IP's of Europe and concretely for Spain. I've found Ixwebhosting but they only offer US Ip's, as their datacenters are there. I don't know if it's the same thing outside spain, but here the hosting companies only use to have a single "C-class" range so even buying them different IP's doesn't help that much, and it isn't cheap (2€/month/ip...). So if you know someone offering what I'm looking for (or really close to it) drop a line, I'll appreciate your help! 🙂
