Google + - 2 accounts - Personal and Work Account
-
Hi everyone,
I know this seems like a really dumb question and I am pretty sure I know the answer but I am interested in hearing the communities opinion on the following issue.
I have 2 gmail accounts. One for work and a personal one
Work gmail account - It is ugly. Something like this [email protected] (Don't ask...long story). Obviously I have it connected to my work email that looks like [email protected]
I created my G+ personal profile with my work gmail ([email protected]) and I use the free version of gmail. I have also created my company G+ profile from my work gmail account.
My personal gmail account has an empty G+ profile. Don't use G+ except for work.
Lately I have been publishing a lot and I am starting to get lots of followers on G+. My suspicion is that Google really does not want people with 2 accounts. Should I be using my personal Gmail account and delete my work gmail account? I need to move my company page to my personal gmail account.
I really don't want people to see my ugly work gmail account. It is ugly
Thanks
Carla

Thanks Vadim for your advise!. I have implemented your recommendation. BTW it is really easy to delete a G+ profile. The only bad news is that you have to re-upload your Youtube videos to the new account.

Hi Carla,
I would try to grow my authority as an individual on my personal account, because say I am a content publisher at company X, and I decided to leave and start another company Y and content publish. It would mean starting over with the the work G+, but with a personal G+ your authority and all your social interaction is linked to you. This will help:
-
with your ugly name issue
-
G+ and authorship work best for a real person to show validity and trust
-
You switch companies and you do not have to start over
-
Personal connections will later help more and more with ranking for people connected to your network, so definitely look at G+ for the long term goals!

Should UK websites expect any benefit from using Google+?
In several places, Google+ is talked about as something that should be used to help improve the SEO of websites and to engage better with audiences. The problem I am having with this is that these sources are usually from America, and that people I've spoken to in the UK don't even know Google+ exists. So what I'd like to know, does Google+ give any sort of benefit to UK businesses in terms of SEO, even though it seems it's a platform used mostly in the USA?

Does Google prefer YouTube video's embedded on a site or put in a Pop up image class for SEO purposes
Our company is an eCommerce site for aftermarket automotive accessories, we have been posting videos on our site. On some pages we have videos embedded from Youtube and on other pages the videos are embedded but in a Popup Image Class. Below I'll provide an example of one way we put the popup image class on our site Now concerning SEO would it be better just to embed a video the traditional way or use the popup image class? The reason I ask is because the popup image class hides the video on the page with an image on top then once you click that image the video pops up. Can Google still crawl/see the video? What would be best practice for SEO?

Guide on how to transition you Google places listing to Google plus Places
I was wondering if anyone had a guide on how to transition your existing Google Places listing to the Google Plus local. I have a Google plus places listing for my business already and don't want to loose my reviews on my Google Local listing.

Do you think Google +1 can hurt rankings?
More on established B2C sites (not blogs/forums)? For example, a client has the #1 ranking for the kw with the highest exact match volume in their vertical and sitelinks. Is it better to keep things status quo and not give Google the data or potentially introduce a new signal to Google that might be negative if CTR is not high enough?

Working with 3rd PArty Social Media partners / paid blogs
Hi there! We are an ecommerce company based in the UK and are an online butcher. We are looking to further our contribution and authority in a social sphere, in particular develop relations with bloggers and social sites who are realised to have authority in our sphere (food / meat). At present we are active in the usual (Twitter, Facebook etc) and have over 1000 likes and followers. We also have a cool blog which can be found at www.donaldrussell.com/weblog/index.html We are looking at our content and would like to share this with other bloggers in return for backlinks and visits from these blogs, and in turn improve our pagerank and SEO ratings. I have been offered the chance to work with EBuzzing, who claim to get your content published and referred to but you have to pay these "bloggers" for the privelage. Is this a good way of furthering our social strategy in the short term, or is this the wrong way to go and do search engines devalue these links? My preference is to organically grow our presence through becoming a valuable contributor and have alsways strongly advocated this, however Ebuzzing or other simillar services sound too good to be true! Are they? Hope you can help me, and look forward to your thoughts. Many thanks Gary
