Redirecting a page loved my Pintrest
-
Hi all,
I'm after some advice on how best to redirect or retain any value a page might have from it's social shares (mainly Pintrest & a little FB). The page's original purpose was to be useful for people and hopefully pass some Google Juice to the main product page.
I've created a new website and 301'd the pages to their new home. Now I'm going through my blog and I have a few pages that continue to get pinned around on Pintrest. Not sure the best way to retain the value. I was thinking of recreating the page on the new site and setting up a 301 redirect but I'm not sure if Pintrest follows along. Or maybe leaving the page on the old site and having a link to my main product page there (and it passing some value to the new domain).
What do you think? Any other ideas that would be better?
The page is: http://www.bringyourownlaptop.com.au/news/indesign-shortcuts-that-will-change-your-life/
The new home is www.byol.com.au.
Thanks in advance Moz'ers!

Sounds like a plan Dave!
Nice to get a second opinion.

301 Redirect, so that the old URL disappears from existence.
Google will still love you as you have fixed a duplication error, the URL on Pinterest will still be valid because it resolves to 301 not 404 and everyone will start seeing the new page instead of the old and so are less likely to Pinterest the old page.

Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...
Hello,
Social Media | | allstatetransmission
I am working on one of my clients projects and would love some advice before making some changes to their Google+ and Youtube account. We created the youtube account before Google+ and Youtube combined so we have a seperate name for the Youtube and Google+ Profile. They were created using separate emails, but both emails are managers of each others "account." We can't combine the two as it won't give me the option, only the option to create a new Youtube channel based on the Google+ Profile. But I already have videos loaded up on the Older Channel that I would like to keep and use for my current Google+ Profile. I have tried to disconnect the Youtube channel to hopefully get the option to link the two, but it just says it is a unavailable option. So my question is:
What advice do you guys have with any of this type of Youtube and Google+ mismatch profile/channels? I am not finding much online besides links to unattaching accounts but that is giving me a message saying that it isn't possible. Or would creating a new channel linked to the Google+ page and just reuploading the videos/transcripts be my best bet? Thank you for your feedback, and if you want anymore details (I know this description when not looking at the accounts might not be enough info, feel free to ask.) I really appreciate it. J0 -
GA Bounce Rate vs Time on Page
I have a niche site that attracts between 50 to 100 visitors a day. For the past several weeks we've been working on a new article and the with aid of social media have attracted 2,000 visitors in the first 24 hours of posting, a dramatic spike in daily visits. Visitors are spending about 10 to 12 minutes reading the article and then leave our site. So, the GA bounce rate is quite high at about 95%. Does Google know this is a compelling article for our niche based on the number of visits and time spent reading the page? Will the high bounce rate affect the article's PR, or do they also consider the time on the page? Best,

Pintrest links not showing on Open Site Explorer
Hi, sorry for the 'simple' question, but I have one client who has a Pintrest link which shows up on the Open site Explorer (Page Authority 60, Domain Authority 100) and a second client who also uses Pintrest but their link doesn't show up on Open Site Explorer. I didn't set either of the clients' Pintrest pages up myself, but I can't see why the 2nd client's page isn't showing up in Open site explorer:- http://pinterest.com/unilifestudents/photoshoot-park-house/

Facebook - one page or two for local insurance agency with 2 locations?
We have 2 offices within 20 miles of each other, and we are getting ready to launch a facebook page (or pages)... I'm not sure whether we should put up one page or two. One office is our 'corporate office', and the other a 'satellite' office, both are very much open for business, but there will never be a need to post something on one and not the other...the two locations are just too close for there to be a need for that. If something is relevant to one town, it is relevant to the other. I am really leaning toward one page for both offices for many reasons, but it seems like facebook wants me to have 2 pages (ie. I can't put in more than one address). Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!
