Scaling with schema markup
-
Right now, the only way I know to do schema markup is through hard coding the designated area where the information is located on the site. I'm thinking about developing an option in a WYSIWYG that allows for basic schema implementation to make it easier for multiple users of experience levels. Does anyone have any examples, tools, or tips for making schema scalable? I want to do a good job with this, but the site I am working on has thousands of pages and multiple "owners."

What environment is the site built in? Normally, you build the microdata markup into the site template, this way no hard-coding of individual microdata is needed.
If you're on WordPress, there are plugins for that.

Json LD e-commerce site with Excellent implementation of all markup features
Hi all I am looking for some really good clear examples of sites that have excellent JSON LD markup. Not just the basics but packed to the teeth with markup for every element. I am particularly interested in e-commerce applications as I am re skinning our e-commerce platform written from scratch in house. It is far from perfect, not mobile friendly and well a bit backward but links into everything we have in a seamless way all the way to our manufacturing plant. Take a look have a little laugh and then take pity 🙂 https://www.spurshelving.co.uk/shop/shop.aspx Thanks Pete

Need a layman's definition/analogy of the difference between schema and structured data
I'm currently writing a blog post about schema. However I want to set the record straight that schema is not exactly the same as structured data, although both are often used interchangeably. I understand this schema.org is a vocabulary of global identifiers for properties and things. Structured data is what Google officially stated as "a standard way to annotate your content so machines can understand it..." Does anybody know of a good analogy to compare the two? Thanks!

They are in this case so that's why would be great to include them. 2- the stars don't seem to be in html, how can we mark the stars to be indexed by google? I want to include this schema
https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/reviews#aggregate_ratings I don't think we would be able to full-fill these items, what do you think? <code>spanvocab="http://schema.org/"typeof="Review"> <span< span="">property="itemReviewed"typeof="Thing"> <span< span="">property="name">Super Book This is not a boook is a service, what should I put here?</span<></span<> <span< span="">property="author"typeof="Person"> <span< span="">property="name">Joe</span<></span<> <span< span="">property="reviewRating"typeof="Rating"> Rating: <span< span="">property="ratingValue">7</span<> out of <span< span="">property="bestRating">10</span<></span<> <span< span="">property="publisher"typeof="Organization"> Whato this property means? Reviews are made by customers not organizations. <meta< span="">property="name"content="Washington Times"> same as abobe, they are not publishers.</meta<></span<></code> If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Schema question
Hi all, We have two Trustpilot schemas (Local Business) on our web pages ( One on desktop / one on mobile) but we are finding that it is not updating the number of reviews in the search results. When using the tool : https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ , the test results are coming back ok. I have two ideas as to why it may not be working; 1) The duplication of the schema code is causing issues 2) We had to change the html code for all of our 50+ backend pages using a search&replace WordPress plugin to save a vast amount of time. Maybe this is plugin related? The fact that the google testing tool gives back positive results adds to the confusion. I test both of the theorised issues to see if it provides a fixes. Can anyone shed some further light on this issue? Is there something obvious I am missing? All responses are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tom p.s. Schema.org Organization Logo markup
Hi Guys, Does anyone have an example of a site using schema.org Organization logo markup (as per: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/using-schemaorg-markup-for-organization.html), with the logo appearing in Google SERPs? One of the designers is pressing me ofr an example. I've found plenty of brands getting their logo in the SERPs knoweldge base results, but they have all been using G+ verified company profiles, or other methods (Googs simply selecting a best fit?) to achieve it. Thx!

Schema and the abuse of it
Hey guys, Looking at schema, especially the aggregate rating, It's easy for anything to just put up a rating and slap on the code to their page. But wouldn't this open up abuse of schema? Are there any mechanisms search engines have put in place to de-rank such practices? I just see schema trusting users to do the morally right thing rather than a mechanism to capture/punish bad practices Thoughts?

Local Business schema / markup
What markup should local businesses employ on their website? I'm aware of the newer schema.org markup but does Google still use rich snippets, geotags, etc.?
