Major site overhaul
-
Hi guys and girls
After reading all the content It became apparent that our website is a bit of a dog. I'm about to update our site with a new theme and content on moz.com I've found myself becoming so much more confident at all this.
I've read all the material I can on Moz re: Site migration but still have one question. How do I find out all the links that I need to 301 before I make the new site live?
Please don't worry about patronizing me! I'm really new at this!
Ben

Thanks Guys, did the trick thank you

Most of the time I use screaming frog (as suggested above). I have also used Xenu in the past and it's free.
-
The quickest and easy thing I would recommend is something like screaming frog it will tell you most of your internal links etc and its free up to 500 URLs, you can also use some of the Moz tools to help you find any links going to broken pages after too.
Good luck with the move!

When do the "just discovered" links on Open Site Explorer count?
I have been working hard to get follow backlinks but they have all been in the Just Discovered part of Open Site Explorer for a long time. So they don't count in my stats for Domain Authority and such. When do they move OUT of Just Discovered?

I am looking for SEO tips specifically for magazine site's
I have a client who has a website that is based on a magazine. They make their money through advertisement I am primarily an inbound marketer I would be very grateful if anyone out there has any tips for a site that has been around for quite a while ( over 10 years) we are transforming the site from HTML into WordPress then hosting it with a fast managed WordPress host using CDN. I feel the lack of links is an obvious place to start however if there's anything specific to magazine based websites I would be more than grateful to hear your opinions. Thank you all in advance. Sincerely, Thomas von Zickell

About how long does it take Google WMT to refresh stats on "Links to Your Site"?
About how long does it take Google WMT to refresh stats on "Links to Your Site"? We're dealing with an unnatural link/anchor phrase issue and I'm curious as to the "typical" time it takes for Google to recognize the links removal or Anchor Text change. Any refresh time ideas on OpenSiteExplorer or AHREFS as well would be a plus... Thanks! Can Open Site Explorer Do This?
Is there any way to set up Open Site Explorer to show these things for competitor external backlinks: Google Page Rank of the page the backlink is on Google Page Rank of the domain the backlink is on Whether the backlink is a follow or no follow Is this possible in OSE? If not, are there any other SEOMOZ Tools that will do this? Thanks.

How accurate is Open Site Explorer?
I noticed for one of my sites, a large number of links do not show up in Open Site Explorer, including some of my stronger links. That being the case, how much weight can I put on using these tools to compare sites? I'm not trying to bash here, I really like the tools but if my PA is 29 and my competition is 34, how much weight can I put on these numbers? Or if it says my site has 50 links from 25 domains and my competition has 60 links from 30 domains, these numbers obviously aren't very accurate? So how much weight can I put on these comparisons? Are there better tools?

How do I find the most linked to page of a site?
I'm looking at a site for a potential link and am trying to find the most linked to page. The SEOmoz toolbar tells me the root domain (DA) is linked to by 660 root domains but the main URL (PA) is linked to by 38 root domains. I used open site explorer and got the same # of 38 root domains in the result. From the Top Pages tab, I clicked on the 2nd page down and the SEOmoz toolbar gives me 189 root domains linking to that page (PA). Then I ran a Linkscape report to see what that would say and I get 146 linking root domains. 1. Is this 2nd page down on OSE the most linked to page? 2. a. Is something off in these numbers?

b. How come OSE/Linkscape doesn't report the 660 root domains in the DA?0 -
Why aren't DMOZ links showing up in Open Site Explorer?
I have a page that is listed in DMOZ.org, but when I run an OSE Link Analysis, that link doesn't show up. I'm currently doing the free trial for SEOMoz Pro and I'm concerned that other links might not be showing up as well. Has anyone had any similar experiences and/or do you know why DMOZ links specifically might not appear in the results?
