Hi Mossa,

Thanks Tomas,
I was trying to come up with a detailed answer but nothing was making sense to me at that time. Kudoos to you as you covered all the possible questions

Hi
Moosa is right I don't know if you want to make open site Explorer a better tool or a few who are looking for alternate tools?
I'll give you the usual suspects just in case Ahrefs, MajesticSEO, monitor backlinks ( quite inexpensive and kind of cool)
I use all of the above but Moz has something very special about it meaning it has the closest thing to what Google Webmaster tools has and that counts a lot.
so from what little you've written I'm going to guess you're looking for more backlink tools and I'm going to list some because that's what I think you want.
Starts at $19

Here is a comparison but I think there is a lot of value in Moz that is not easily picked up on here.
If you're looking for something inexpensive and to complement your already fantastic OSE on Moz tryout monitor backlinks it gives you Ahrefs my second favorite to Moz

please rephrase the question if this is not what you are asking if it is I really hope it is a been of help.
All the best,
Tom

You could do a lot of things, so one of them is that you're able to check the top landing pages for a competitor to see what kind of content is doing well.

I seriously do not understand your question. Can you please try to be a little more specific about your question so that I can answer accordingly!

Free tool, and it ranks well for adult sites and checking if they are down, will that hurt us with ranking for normal sites with google?
Hi all, We rank for searches around "is youporn down" and similar because we provide a free tool to check if a website is up or down: https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/youporn I am worried that ranking for these adult searches is hurting us with ranking for things like "is reddit down", thoughts? I'd appreciate some input!

Should I delete older posts on my site that are lower quality?
Hey guys! Thanks in advance for thinking through this with me. You're appreciated! I have 350 pieces of Cornerstone Content that has been a large focus of mine over the last couple years. They're incredibly important to my business. That said, less experienced me did what I thought was best by hiring a freelance writer to create extra content to interlink them and add relevancy to the overall site. Looking back through everything, I am starting to realize that this extra content, which now makes up 1/3 my site, is at about 65%-70% quality AND only gets a total of about 250 visitors per month combined -- for all 384 articles. Rather than spending the next 9 months and investing in a higher quality content creator to revamp them, I am seeing the next best option to remove them. From a pros perspective, do you guys think removing these 384 lower quality articles is my best option and focusing my efforts on a better UX, faster site, and continual upgrading of the 350 pieces of Cornerstone Content? I'm honestly at a point where I am ready to cut my losses, admit my mistakes, and swear to publish nothing but gold moving forward. I'd love to hear how you would approach this situation! Thanks 🙂

Is this a 'real site' or a spam site for backlinks
I have been asked what type of site this is? What kind of page is this? [http://www.gotocostarica.com/](http://www.gotocostarica.com/) In my opinion it is site put up to create back links and should be avoided (especially in the light of the new Penguin and Panda updates coming). But I don't want to give wrong advice. What are your opinions?

How to know if a link in a directory will be good for my site?
Hi! Some time ago, a friend of my added our site to a directory. I did not notice it until today, when in the search results for my domain name, the directory came in the first page, in the four position. My friend wrote a nice article, describing our bussiness, and the page has a doFollow link. Looking at the metrics of that directory, I found the following: Domain Authority: 70; main page authority: 76; linking domain roots: 1383; total links: 94663 (several anchor texts); facebook shares: 26; facebook likes: 14; tweets: 20; Google +1: 15. The directory accept a free article about a company, does not review it before it is published, but look for duplicated articles representing spam; so one company can only have one listing (in theory). Is there any formula to know if a directory is safe to publish a doFollow link? If they don't review the link I would say is not a good signal, but is there any other factors to take into account?

Are expired domains for Godaddy backlinks already reset by googel ?
When does Google actual reset backlinks to a domain. If i am buying expired domains from godaddy action for linking purpose am i wasting my time. Also if that the case whats the point of buying expired domains with many links pointing to them. If the backlinks to the expired domain still show up under my Google webmaster tool window does that mean Google counts that link?

Article submission, and how to build backlinks for Ecommerce? [HELP]
Hi guys, I have a question, for high quality backlinks apparently you go to these article websites where you submit your site such as Ezine etc etc, however is it just one article you submit to these as it'll look like duplicate content? Also can I have it on my site first? How does it work? Also I run an ecommerce website, how can I build backlinks to each product, theres over 200+ products and 1.6k subcategories. I would like to rank for as many as possible but getting an SEO company to do this would cost to much. Any ideas on how I should go about it?

Are moz analytics now redundant ?
Whilst there have been quite a few q & a's and one or two posts on the blog about the google onslaught on "unnatural" links, with over 1 million sites impacted I'm surprised Moz hasn't said more about this. With google now muddying the waters even further about what is natural or not (with due respect to Moz, if you're not a brand like Moz, the vast majority of seo's buy some links one way or the other) with all the uncertainty, how is it now possible to trust any metrics about links ? In essence, does Domain Rank and Domain Trust now mean anything in the new google world and can they be relied upon ? No doubt someone will come back and say that a lot don't buy any links. Fair enough but the reality is that most do some kind of deals for links, writing in niches like law it is very difficult to get people to share content. Simply a fact. The Serps are in a mess. Google has replaced many decent sites who played the game to one degree or another, with a lot of sites that are worthless, not bothering with links or content,, so rising by default ! Directory sites seem to be doing better again, because, you guessed it, they are brands like yell.

How do you deal with spammy backlinks?
One of the web designers I work with asked me to do a preliminary site assessment on a small business website. The owner of the business had a falling out with his previous web designer and moved over to the one I work with earlier this year. The site has been redesigned but when analyzing the back links I discovered that the previous designer had created directories to create backlinks to the page. The PR 0 links from the site number about 150 and are from unrelated topic pages. So, it made me wonder, how much damage can spammy backlinks do? What is the best practice to deal with spammy backlinks if you find them?
