Webmaster Tools Verification Problem
-
Hello,
Somehow a website I'm working on has lost it's verification in Webmaster Tools. I have absolutely no clue why... The Google Analytics code is still working, the verification meta tag is in place, both are not working.
I get an error message about Google not being able to connect to the server. I asked about any possible changes to server settings or stuff about that, but apparently nothing has changed there.
The URL in question is Bivolino.com
Does someone has any other ideas what I could be looking for.
Thanks,
Kind regards,
Erik

And now you can get to what you were trying to do in the first place. If I had a dollar...

Okay, got it fixed. It had something to do with dynamic redirects that were being loaded to quickly (server side redirects). Pfew, technical evening

Okay, so just to be sure I'm not doing anything stupid.
I log in to WMT, I remove the website with which I have verification issues and add it again. Right?
Thanks,
-
You should not lose historic data but re-linking the account with your credentials should fix any problems that you are having.
-
Thanks for your prompt reply.
GA seems to be fine, universal analytics is implemented and the code checks out with the code presented in GA. Tag Assistant shows a green smiley so no issues there neither.
Regarding the account that linked the two accounts. It might be possible another account linked the two accounts but I'm not sure. The account I use to login to WMT has all the possible rights in GA so I didn't expect any problems with that. If account is the problem, do I need to remove the property from webmaster tools and add it again? Would that delete all data history?

That's odd that neither method works. There are still a few more methods you can try. You can find them here. If you could update how that works for you, that would be appreciated.
Whenever I see things like this, I always wonder how often people get fired for system problems beyond their control. At any rate, once you re-verify your account, the historic data should still be there. So no worries on that part.

There are a few things you will want to check.
Make sure that the account that linked the GWT and GA has not changed (such as an agency account did it then left) because the owner of the GWT account determines the verification code.
See if they updated their Google Analytics to Universal, if they have the wrong code/combination it can cause problems. Also with using the GA code to authenticate, make sure that it is placed in the right place (you can use Tag Assistant browser plug in from Google).
As for why it went away, Google will periodically check the authentication to make sure it is still there in case ownership changes, so it is not odd after site changes for this to occur.

Www2 vs www problem
Hi, I have a website that has an old version and a new version. The content is not duplicate on the different versions.

The point is that the old version uses www. and non-www before the domain and the new one uses www2. My questions is: Is that a problem and what should be done? Thank you in advance!0 -
Google dance tools - do they still give an indication of rankings to come?
I can't remember the tool I used in the past but it searched a number of data centres which gave a pretty good indication of what your new rankings would be once full updated, is this still the case today? If so, can anyone recommend any tools?

Duplicate Content Problem!
Hi folks, I have a quite awkward problem. Since a few weeks a get a huge amount of "duplicate content errors" in my MOZ crawl reports. After a while of looking for the error I thought of the domains I've bought additionally. So I went to Google and typed in site:myotherdomains.com The results was as I expected that my original website got indexed with my new domains aswell. That means: For example my original website was index with www.domain.com/aboutus - Then I bought some additional domains which are pointing on my / folder. What happened is that I also get listed with: www.mynewdomains.com/com How can I fix that? I tried a normal domain redirect but it seems as this doesn't help as when I am visiting www.mynewdomains.com the domain doesnt change in my browser to www.myoriginaldomain.com but stays with it ... I was busy the whole day to find a solution but I am kinda desperate now. If somebody could give me advice it would be much appreciated. Mike

Spurious malware warning in Bing Webmaster Tools (BWT)?
Hi, A client had a message in BWT: 'Bing Webmaster Tools detected 1 pages infected with malware on ...' The message was last updated 30/July but having checked the page and included javascript there's nothing that we can see which could be construed as malware. GWT seems happy enough with it and I've tried a couple of online site scanners (e.g. sucuri) and they seem happy enough. I'm minded to ignore it, but has anyone else had a similar experience? Thanks

Problem with indexed files before domain was purchased
Hello everybody, We bought this domain a few months back and we're trying to figure out how to get rid of indexed pages that (i assume) existed before we bought this domain - the domain was registered in 2001 and had a few owners. I attached 3 files from my webmasters tools, can anyone tell me how to get rid of those "pages" and more important: aren't this kind of "pages" result of some kind of "sabotage"? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this. Thank you, Alex Picture-5.png Picture-6.png Picture-7.png
