Usage of Schema.org Microdata?
-
I am trying to figure out the correct usage of Schema.org for a business.
Example:
There is information like opening times or payments accepted. Would you populate this data within meta tags on every page (i.e. in the header) or really target specific pages? This could also apply to general info such as address, contact details, etc..
Interested in hearing your thoughts
Cheers

Fair enough...
This is what I'm looking at in terms of the settings I want to integrate directly into the header, I'll try to keep people posted on the results:

I figure brand in the case of a restraunt would be FoodEstablishment->LocalBusiness->Organization that sets your business branding across the site. Your would want to ensure any 404's that might happen go to the home or an informative search page, as a usability feature.

Thanks for the response!
So when you say brand, you mean all the general details, i.e. contact info, address, etc. should be present on all pages? I do the event, food tagging etc.. which is all specific to the content actually being there, but for instance if I have the basic details in the header, that'll also show up in the 404, archive pages, etc. which in my opinion is probably fine?

I would and do target content on a range of our pages, where I think we can give the viewer more useful information. If you list a sample menu you could use the 'offers' to provide prices and specials. You can use your customer reviews with the 'review' tag. It is also good to establish your brand throughout with the 'organization' tags. I do think this is a longer term strategy as Google is only starting to make use of some of the tags now and does not have a working test tool yet.
So, overall answer is maybe target your brand on each page and pick specific pages with strong useful content that you begin taging, at least until a good test tool allows you to check results.

Schema Markup Validator vs. Rich Results Test
I am working on a schema markup project. When I test the schema code in the Schema Markup Validator, everything looks fine, no errors detected. However, when I test it in the Rich Results Test, a few errors come back.

Is this Schema? Did Test, and Shows Nothing
Hi Everyone, If you look at the first listing on https://www.google.com/search?q=tanzanite+minerals&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8, you will see this under the listing: Mineral Class: ZoisiteLuster: VitreousChemical Formula: Ca2Al3(SiO4)3(OH)Crystal System: OrthorhombicI tried to run a test against the page and it shows no schema. How are they doing this as we would love to provide the same information.Thank you!

Schema question
Hi all, We have two Trustpilot schemas (Local Business) on our web pages ( One on desktop / one on mobile) but we are finding that it is not updating the number of reviews in the search results. When using the tool : https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ , the test results are coming back ok. I have two ideas as to why it may not be working; 1) The duplication of the schema code is causing issues 2) We had to change the html code for all of our 50+ backend pages using a search&replace WordPress plugin to save a vast amount of time. Maybe this is plugin related? The fact that the google testing tool gives back positive results adds to the confusion. I test both of the theorised issues to see if it provides a fixes. Can anyone shed some further light on this issue? Is there something obvious I am missing? All responses are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tom p.s. Will Schema help my website?
I'm doing SEO on a website, zing.co.nz, which is a soon to launch company. At the moment there is a splash sight up, which will be replaced by the real sight in a few weeks upon launch. Is it worth me putting in Schemas (for the first time) so that it is recognized as an organization? Will this effect us in the serps? Thanks for your help 🙂

Moving from a .org to a .com
We have been a .org website for as long as the web as been around. We just recently got the .com for our organization and wondered what the transition process would be like. We offer a lot of content to help parents with parenting and so as a content driven site we have about 13k external links and 1,200 linking root domains links to our site. Will we loose all our links in the transition to the .com? Is there a way to do this well that helps our brand and also retains our google ranking? Thanks so much for any and all help.
