High qualitty images and mobile
-
We know that google likes high quality unique images. On the other side google likes fast load times (in particular on mobile).
What about showing two different dimensions images on desktop and mobile? Is it good? If yes than any wordpress plugins for that?
-
Thanks for the shout out, Ryan! Although, I think Smashing Magazine has already answered this question the best:
Basically, what you want to do is load high quality images for desktop, but remove those images or serve lower quality images for mobile. You can either do this by loading the images you need with JavaScript rather than CSS, so matchMedia can change the images based on device type, or you can set up your server to deliver differently sized images based on device type.
Hope this helps!

With modern mobile devices their screens are actually pretty good at displaying high resolution images, but responsive design still helps significantly in squeezing layouts into handy formats across platforms. The crew at Distilled wrote a nice post about this a couple of years ago that's still applicable, here: http://moz.com/blog/seo-of-responsive-web-design.

This is one of the best questions ever. I hope you get great responses and one of those responses thinks that the topic is worthy of a post on the Moz Blog.

My portal is created on wordpress cms.
I deleted the alternative text of the image and still, if I put text instead of the image, that problem disappears. It's not something serious, but I like that everything is perfect

Would a lot of images on one post be categorized as thin content?
As an example, if i write an article on 12 best print ads by BMW, it will have 12 images and possible 12 single liners and a paragraph. The images will have the necessary alt tags. But overall, will this post be counted as low content and is there changes of being penalized by google for it?

Short Meme/Image Posts on Blog - Will this hurt me?
Hey guys, I use Hootsuite to cross-post to twitter/facebook/google+/wordpress. It's mostly short one-sentence posts (http://minecraftserverfinder.wordpress.com/). But it's updated about 5-6 times a day and the images are relevant and interesting to my followers. Currently the wordpress page is not hosted on my main site minecraftserverfinder.com, it just links to it. I do have another blog on minecraftserverfinder.com/blog that has a couple of lengthy articles. My questions are thus: Should I keep going with these posts? Should I consolidate the blogs and host them on my main site? Thanks in advance.

Site with mostly images
I am working on a site which will be a portfolio of many photographers - hence there will be a lot of images - each image will have an external link to the photographers site, there will be a very small description and a lot of tags (for the site indexing to work) Bearing in mind that the site will consist of 90% images, 9% tags and 1% text is there a chance the site will rank well for my keywords (which will be the tags)? There will also be social comments e.g. facebook or discus but I want to keep the amount of text to a minimum.

Can you use creative commons non-commercial images on a company blog?
Does anyone know if it is okay to use creative commons images on your company blog if they are under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 Generic license. Technically you are using it on a commercial site, but you are not directly making money from the image or selling it.

Images for WordPress
I'd be grateful for any advice regarding sourcing, adding & attributing images/photos for my WordPress blog. Budget is tight so have to rule out paid stock libraries, but I heard that Flickr images can be used under Creative Commons providing they are correctly attributed. eg. http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/business-of-it/2011/04/07/mps-criticise-bbc-siemens-38m-contract-failure-40092428/ eg 2. http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/networking/2011/10/05/bt-lines-up-300mbps-broadband-launch-40094109/ Example 1 does not seem to link back but example 2 does. Are there any rules on this? I have looked at some plugins: Insights, iFlickr, WP Flickr Manager, Photo Dropper. Looking to save time by streamlining the process of adding images, resizing and attributing. Many thanks.
