My Backlinks are Coming ZERO in Open SIte Explorer
-
I have made many links for my website, I checked in majestic it showed me about 40. But MOZ is showing Zero.
The last i remember I checked:
Add
noodp
meta robots tag sitewide in SEO YOAST. It said it prevents search engines from using the DMOZ description for pages from this site in the search results. Also I have a NoIndex (canonical ) on category, archive, author, tag to avoid Duplicate Data.
But when i see the source of my website, it shows <rel link="canonical">on every single page and post of website. Can this be the reason why MOZ is not showing any backlinks? </rel>

Hi Himanshu
Sorry to hear you aren't seeing you links yet in our Index. What you can do is search the sites you are building links on to see if we are crawling them and check the Just Discovered tab to see if any links are in queue. If you see links there for their site and including your own, then you can expect your links to appear in our index in the next 1-2 updates.
Hope this helps!

Just to elaborate a bit on the canonical part, people often put a canonical pointing to itself on all pages to avoid duplicate content in the case of session ids or other parameters being appended to the basic url.
This would not hurt your backlink situation, in fact it could help. If by chance there were backlinks to alternate versions of your base url, you would reclaim the link authority which would otherwise have been lost if Google dropped that page from its index seeing it as duplicate content.

The biggest probable reason Moz doesn't see any links is you didn't give it enough time. Open site explorer takes a bit of time to show links (compared to its competitors) so give it time, you can always look in majestic or ahrefs of webmaster tools.
as for the other stuff if you are unsure of anything its best not to use it but
noodp this will stop Google from using meta descriptions from DMOZ etc.
NoIndex (canonical )
these are two different tags but if they are on pages you do not want indexed that's fine.
you may see this on every page but as long as its a canonical of the page you are on it shouldn't be causing you and problems.

Open Site Explorer Showing Blank Screen
Hi Moz Community, When I go to search for backlinks for any site, I am getting a blank screen after starting the search. This is happening to every search I perform for any URL or root domain. It's been happening for about a week now and I am not able to find any solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Ryan

Open Site Explorer Messge - Mysite.com redirects to www.mysite.com
Hello All, When I plug in my site's URL http://mysite.com ( Not my actual URL of-course) into the OpenSiteExplorer tool I get the following message: "You entered the URL http://Mysite.com which redirects to http://www.Mysite.com/.
Link Explorer | | jjimen03
Because it's likely to have more accurate metrics, we're showing data for the redirected URL instead.
Click here to analyze http://Mysite.com instead?" Not sure why I am getting this message. On my hosting server, I have defined my preferred domain to be the non-www. version. I have also used a Canonical Tag on Mysite.com/index.html file ( ). In addition, on Google Search Console ( Webmaster Tools ) , I have added both the www. and non-www. properties, where on both property settings, I have defined the non-www. version as my preferred one. Also, on my server, I have not implemented any 301 redirects at all. So my questions are: Why am I receiving this message when plugging in my non-www. URL version of my website into OpenSiteExplorer? Is my DA or PA possibly being split up between the two versions as a result? Should I be concerned? How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.0 -
Open site explorer: error message "There was an error getting your data"
I"m trying out MOZ, wanting to make an informed decision (for myself and my blogging students) whether this is a useful program to buy and use. I've had no luck so far with the Open Site Explorer. Each time I try, I get the same error message, "There was an error getting your data". I used the URL: http://writetodone.com I asked about the problem in the chat, but my question was posed over an hour ago and is still marked 'unread'... I"m keen to continue studying the program as I'm creating a video about MOZ. How can I make the Open Site Explorer work? I've tried the Analytics module but it seems to take some days to get results. Hey, one of my sites https://www.automationanywhere.com/testing has had all it's pages drop to a page authority of 1 in Moz and the campaign doesnt appear to be indexing any pages from this directory. We launched a new site in this directory on the 12th and havent been getting any moz love since. The pages are indexable and followable, and are being indexed by google and others. The site on the root domain has been unaffected. Please help me get my moz campaign back on track. Thanks!

Why is my website providing no feedback on the Open Site Explorer?
Basically, whenever i type in my URL, http://www.locksmithplusincportlandor.com, I am presented with the following message: "It looks like we haven't discovered established link data for this URL yet." I have gone through all of the reasons why this could be, and none of them apply to my current situation. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Sites internal links are not showing as inbound links
My sites internal links are not showing as inbound links while my competitor site’s internal links are showing as their inbound links (In OSE). Is my site’s inter-linking weak? Or there could be other reasons.
