Bing not indexing pages
-
We have taken all recommended steps to index our site sitegeek.com pages to Bing Bot but failed to index them. Bing bot crawled more than 5,000 pages every day but strange why pages are not getting index ?
if we query site:sitegeek.com in Bing
Bing Search Engine shows only 1,200 pages got indexed.
but we query site:sitegeek.com in Google
Google Search Engine show more 546,000 pages got indexed.
For example :
https://www.sitegeek.com/000webhost
Above page crawled by Google but Bing.
Can anyone suggest what we are missing on this page? what need to change to index such pages?
Thanks!
Rajiv

There isn't anything different you should be doing for Bing on site. The page you mentioned is indexed in Bing (url:https://www.sitegeek.com/000webhost is indexed in Bing). So it's tough to understand what might be going on.
There are many potential issues here.
1. The language changes causing an issue. Bing's tag is different from Google's.
2. The site quality or content quality is not enough for Bing to want to index. I doubt that, but it's a potential issue.
3. Sitemap issues. Bing is not as good as Google at telling us what the issues are with sitemaps. Without doing a full analysis, there isn't much we can do to tell you the problem.
4. Sometimes it's just Bing. They are always behind ...

Hi Williamson,
we have submitted three sitemaps for different-different categories or we can say different-different pages. When we check the sitemaps status under Bing Webmaster, it shows sitemap last crawled date and this date is sitemap submitted date. Here ! we assume that sitemap only crawl on the day when it was submitted and later it is not crawled.
Earlier, I give you an example of url : https://www.sitegeek.com/000webhost
Can you check and suggest which is missing on this page which need be fixed for Bing Bot ?
Thanks,
Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,
This is a pretty common thing to be honest - you should find this thread interesting - http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4692634.htm
Have you setup Bing Webmaster Tools? - if not I would suggest that you do this and make sure you submit a sitemap etc. I found this helps with visibility in Bing...http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster
You may also want to run some of your page through the Bing SEO Analyzer - http://www.bing.com/toolbox/seo-analyzer
Hope this helps

Any SEO disadvantages with creating pages under a directory page which doesn't exists?
Hi, Let's say we are going to create pages in the URL path www.website.com/directory/sub-pages/. In case this page www.website.com/directory/ doesn't exists or redirected; will the pages created in this URL path like stated above have any issues in-terms of SEO? We will link these pages from somewhere in the website and planning to redirect the /directory/ to homepage. Suggestions please.

Landing page redirect along with complete content
Hi Moz community, We have a page with "keyword" we are targeting in slug like website.com/keyword/. This page doesn't have much back-links or visits like homepage. So we decided to redirect homepage to /keyword page along with complete content. Will this going to hurt? Only change anybody can notice is URL. Are there any risks involved. I think this is the best way to highlight the page we been thinking about. Thanks

Product Listing Pages
Hi I had a question regarding product pages and the best way to display the page for SEO. For example, is it best to have a page for - Blue Euro Containers including a table of the capacity options you can buy.. Or, have each product split out so it has it's own product page - 60L Blue Euro Container, etc etc I know a lot of the information will be fairly similar, with the capacity being the one major difference - is this a bad thing? Some of our product tables are too big and the idea was to split them out. Thanks!

AMP pages - should we be creating AMP versions of all site pages?
Hi all, Just wondering what people's opinions are on AMP pages - having seen the Google demo of how AMP pages will be given visibility on page one of Google for news-based content, do you think it is worth considering creating AMP versions of all pages, ready for when Google expands its inclusion of these super-fast pages?

Why are organic search results vastly different on Bing, Google and Yahoo Search
We searched two words for a client so see how/where their site returned results. Depending on both the browser we used and the search engine, the results were so vastly different we were shocked. The site returned #2 or 3 on Bing and YahooSearch and not until the 3rd page for Google! And it also returned much worse on Chrome than any other browser, a Google product. I know this topic must be covered somewhere, or perhaps someone would be kind enough to chime in and shed some light? We have been working hard to optimize for Google and failing, but doing very well everywhere else. What gives?

Page rank of 2 with zero SEO and a 2 month old domain?
Hello, I helped work on a website for a friend. We used wordpress, a theme from elegant themes and wrote the content over 4 days. Zero back links, no seo, etc. Well, a little on page optimization and that's about it. Oh, we did ONE back link from a review site. The domain was brand new; never registered before. About a week after it started getting indexed, it jump from no page rank to a page rank of 1. About a week later, it jumped to a page rank of 2. Again, zero seo (aside from above stated). The site is: trade lines review dot com A page rank of 2 is nothing to write home about, but given the circumstances, how is this even possible? Thanks you!

How could Penguin kill my top ten rank and promote this garbage page to a #5 spot
Hey, Before penguin, I had a #9 rank for the term "yoga poses". So as many of us are doing, I started looking at my link profile... and yes, there were around 300 links from an old yoga news website (anchor: yoga poses)... that lead to the page on my site optimized for this term. The problem is they took the site down, but not properly... I.E. they generate a "not available" message for browsers, but underneath, I guess the bots can still index all the pages... so I guess they were interpreting these links as coming from a cloaked site. So, I was able to get them to remove the links... webmaster tools reports half of them gone now. What I don't get though... is how Google can give this garbage page a #5 spot for a competitive term like "yoga poses"... Check out http://www.ebmyoga.com/beginyoga.html and compare it to my page... http://www.yogaclassplan.com/yoga-poses/ This page leads to highly quality 100% unique yoga pose articles... in my mind we deliver so much more value than the site with a #5 rank. I don't understand. Any insight? Thanks,
