Is it a good idea to have campanion site?
-
I am just thinking to start a companion site, do you think its a good idea to have this sort of site. As i believe it may be the good source to get good referral traffic from this site.

I'm going to assume you're talking about another, smaller website in the same industry. We call these "satellite" websites and, generally speaking, they're not a good idea. As Bryan Leo mentioned below, there are some exceptions to the rule but without knowing more about what you're trying to do I would have to answer "no". Like Martjin said, it would be better to increase your efforts on your main site than to spread them across multiple sites in the same niche.

Hi Ikkie,
If you mean a companion site, then I would say it depends on what content you plan to host on it and how that content will not only differ from your main site, but how it'll add to it.
If you mean a campaign site, then I'd say so long as the campaign is strong and you're doing a lot with social media to promote it, then I can't see it being a bad idea.
I hope that helps, and if not, please provide more details so we can help you out as best as possible.

As far as I could know based on your description I'd like to know if there also is a main site. If there is why not do all your campaigns and content performance over there so you would fully benefit from doing everything over there.

What is the best tactic to fix thousands of product descriptions on an eCommerce site?
I've asked this to dozens of people already, but I still haven't found a satisfactory answer... perhaps someone here can help me: I keep hearing how important it is to update product descriptions to avoid duplicate content, decrease thin content and improve conversion rates - but for any new eCommerce sites like ours, with thousands of listings going up at once, this is nearly impossible to control. Outsourcing is clearly a bad idea from an SEO standpoint as well as a UX standpoint... But are there any other options? Should I let go of my other responsibilities and focuses as an in-house SEO manager and virtually stop, drop and roll out unique product descriptions? That would be a project that would take me at least a year to complete. Do I just give up? Do two descriptions a day and hope for the best? What do you guys think? What have you recommended for others? I can't imagine our company is alone in this dilemma. Thanks in advance! Hanna

Are Microsites a good idea
I am a plastic surgeon with a website and active blog which has done well over the past 7 years. I use my blog to feature specific procedures such as Breast Augmentation or Tummy Tuck. Should I continue to just use my blog to generate traffic or consider a microsite specific to a procedure? My concern is that google may consider the microsite a black hat technique.

Network of small sites or one large site
Hi there, I am taking a group of mums through how to set up a blog and how to build up traffic to that blog. Should I suggest that we all blog on the same domain so www.dsdsds.com/myblogname or get them to set up their own domains. My aim is for everyone to support each other, share and link content so would it be more powerful if they were all on different domains or on the same one? Would love some insight as it is something I just can not get my head around this part. Thank you so very very much 🙂
