Last click conversions (Assisted conversions report vs. Channels report)
-
Hi Mozzers,
Does anyone know why the last click / direct conversions (by channel) in the 'assisted conversion report in Google Analytics do not match the conversions in the Channels report. I thought conversion data in the channels report was last click / direct conversions?
Thanks for your help!
-
Hi Carson, thanks for the response and sorry about the super-slow response!
So, by adding my conversions from the standard channel report with my assisted conversions (to get a total conversions view) am I inflating my actual conversions?
-
So Google Analytics uses what it (sometimes) calls "Last Non-Direct Click" attribution by default. You can change this, but it basically just means the last channel clicked by the customer gets the credit everywhere but the Multi-Channel Funnels reports where you can change the model.
First, check that your total goal figure align across models.
Generally the multi-funnel conversion reports are off a bit. I'm not sure why, but the standard reports are more accurate than a report in multi-channel reports or the Model Comparison Tool. The goal value in other reports should be close to the "Last Non-Direct Click" model. Paid search tends to have less variance. All of my other channels are less than 1% off. Are you seeing more variance?
Hope that helps! It's just one of the strange ways where Google comes to a number in a different way, and it doesn't always align perfectly.

No Data in Custom Report set to 'Hit' Scope
Hi Guys, Been having a problem recently with a custom report I have set up... I want to find out number of sessions, bounce rate, session duration etc for different dimensions on my site - store area, store name, product type etc but I cannot seem to get the data to filter through to the report I have set up when 'Session' scope is selected. If I set it to 'hit' then I do get the data but this will only record the first instance of a dimension being triggered (from what I can gather) rather than all dimensions that might be triggered during a complete session. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Thanks, Dan

Google Analytics: Different stats for date range vs single month?
I've been scratching my head, chin, and you name it over this one. I have an advanced segment to remove bot traffic from my data. When I look at the Audience Overview data for a single month (let's say Aug). I am shown a session count. No problems here, however If I set the date range to (January - August). The august monthly stats is incorrect, much lower. What this means is that, if I export a CSV report from Jan-Aug, the data is wrong compared to individually recording a month. Anyone faced this? I've asked the question over at the Google Analytics technical section as well, but no answer P.S I even used the 'control the number of sessions used to calculate this report' tool but no luck.

Google Analytics Events that lead to Goals (conversions)
Hello! I'm in the process of setting up Events in Google Analytics to track the performance of banner ads on our site. While that will take care of the action performed by the visitor (i.e. the click on the banner), it doesn't tell me if the visitor ultimately completed the form where the banner ad directs them (which is set up as one of out site's Goals). Once the Event is in place, will I be able to track the Goal conversions that it leads to? It's nice that Events will tell me which banner drove someone to the form, but if I'm not able to see if that Event led to a Goal conversion it seems like something will be missing. So, is this something that's already available within Goals or Events reporting, or is there an additional step I need to take? Thanks in advance for your feedback! Erik

Google Custom Report Filters are a pain in the arse
Greetings from high weed pollen count Wetherby UK 🙂 Ok ive been having extreme custom reporting filter frustration with Google analytics. My objective was to set up a "custom" google analytics report that detailed: 1. Referral traffic from external sights in one reporting tab
Reporting & Analytics | | Nightwing
2. Visitor generic traffic report including direct, search & referral traffic e.g: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/reporting-tabscopy.jpg But Ive hit the provebial buffers 😞 Initailly i added an advanced filter as shown here: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/custom-reporting-with-filtercopy.jpg but the advanced filters do not stick / save. As soon as you exit the custom report the advanced filter is cleared as shown here: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/custom-reporting-filter-removedcopy.jpg I then added a filter under a specific custom tab but the filter cascades into all the reporting tabs see below: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/custom-reporting-cascading-filterscopy.jpg So my question is please... "How do can you set up filters that effect the data in one reporting tab and does not cascade into the others" Any insights welcome 🙂0 -
What does "on first page" mean in seomoz ranking reports?
Hi - When reports here show numbers of keywords appearing "on first page", there must be some implicit assumption made about the number of results listed per page. 1. Can anyone tell me what that assumption is? Is it 10? 20? 2. What about universal results Local links? If the answer to number one is, for instance, 20 results per page, then are there any assumptions made about the number of universal results Local links included? I'm just trying to understand what the reports mean. Thanks, Tim

Trackbacks vs Links: What's the Difference?
Our Google Analytics social pages report isn't showing several of our links. And several links are from high quality sources, such as about.com. Does anyone know why this may be?

How to track clicks and "impressions" on a certain botton on my website.
I would like to track the amount of impressions on all pages in a "sub category" doman.com/subcategory/all-impressions-to-these-pages and clicks to a certain button for a contact form. I know that I can add snipets to my analytics code but I'm not sure how to and witch snipet to include. Is it possible?
