HI Stephen,
As somebody who has worked with eCommerce sites with lots of products I can appreciate where you're at and what you've gone through to get there. My next step would be to fill up the site with content that sets you apart from competitors. Really easy advise to give, hard to implement.
What I like to do is take my favorite online shop and compare what I have against them. My goal is figure out what I could do that they aren't doing, or how in general I could compete with them. For me my favorite online shop for just about everything is Amazon (yours maybe different) , then I say why would somebody buy from me instead of Amazon. Since Amazon is my personal favorite site, it removes the bias I may have towards my own shop.
Can I offer better prices or value? Can I offer items they don't sell? Can I offer better support? Can I offer faster or cheaper delivery? Can I show better content? Better reviews? Can I offer a better shopping experience?
With these questions, most sites I come to the conclusion is Amazon has set the bar so high, it is very difficult to compete even if I have a huge budget. In your case, Amazon may have many of the items you sell, so you have to get creative on how you market them and make sure your content is on par with theirs. That means add reviews, add your own personal description of items, your own images, customer images, and make sure you are where your customers are (social media).
I can't tell anybody how to run a business, but I can say that being creative when your up against such big money is the best way to make a name for yourself.
Good luck,
Don

Hi Stephen,
My general advice is yes, finish your page optimization before link building and here is why.
When you start your link building process it is likely that you'll be reaching out to other sites to ask for links or to submit pages. Those sites that you want links from, are likely going to review what they are linking to, as such they are going to grade your site in one way or another. You want to put your best face on those pages. Sites are more likely to link to you if you look good and have the content to warrant a link.
Hope that makes sense, and helps,
Don

Am I better off with ten links from one site or one link from ten sites?
I am writing a series of linked-back articles for a highly-ranked web publisher, but wonder if I'd be better off sharing the articles across different sites. My goal is to grow our domain authority and SEO rankings.

Interdomain linking from partner sites
I'm looking for a bit of advice on best practices when it comes to linking domains that are operated by the same umbrella corporation. Are links from the header/footer no longer beneficial? Is there such a thing as too many links among domains? How would you reap the SEO value of a small network of sites that were associated? Thanks!!

Setting up a separate site for link building
We are jump starting a link building campaign for a personal injury law firm. We're planning on doing things right with earning links to content people will actually want to share, sponsoring local events, etc. We're a little worried that some good opportunities could be missed due to the fact some people have assumptions about personal injury lawyers and would be hesitant to link to us simply because of our injury, regardless of what we're trying to share/promote. One solution we're considering is creating a foundation associated with the firm that supports relevant causes and provides the public with educational resources. That might get over our branding hurdle a bit. We've also discussed setting up a separate site for the foundation and actually building links to it rather than our main site, then linking the foundation site to our main site. The hope would be that we could get more links to the foundation site and it would in turn pass on link juice to our main site. My concern is whether this strategy makes any sense. We'd be putting good content on this foundation site rather than our main site. How much link juice would actually be passed on to our main site in this case? Would so much be lost that it would negate the whole purpose?

Link Building
I'm having difficulty creating a solid link base. I would prefer to only have links that are on relevant sites that are likely to drive traffic rather then just adding my company page to site directories. I've checked out the whiteboard Friday edition of link building and have also used the new Moz analytics that helps recommend sites to link to, but all the recommendations were directories. So, could anyone hold my hand and guide me through the world of Link building? Your help, as always, is much appreciated. Thanks everyone Dave

Link building - am I too cautious?
The only backlink building I am doing is guest blogging as it seems most other methods have potential to harm rankings in the post panda/penguin era. As mentioned in another post I'm trying to get a strategy for social media that works as I believe social likes/shares are important. What other link building methods can I use that are totally safe? Is it okay to 'buy' a link on botw r examleas theyre editorally reviewed? I'm asking myself 2 questions when acquiring limks. 1. Would I want this link if google didn't exist and 2. Will it bring me relevant traffic. I'm almost scared of link building in case google punishes me. Are there any legitimate methods I'm missing?

Hi Guys, I'm trying to have my page rank better for "sell my car Houston". I'm about to start working on getting links to our site and my question is should I work on getting links to that specific page or would it be OK to just get links to the home page (same seo effect)? Specific page: http://www.motorsonwheels.com/pages/sell-my-car-in-houston-tx Home page: http://www.motorsonwheels.com Thanks! -Nash
