Why have I slipped off the 1st page?
-
Hi Forum, this has me baffled. I'm an experienced SEOer and have many sites ranking well for their clients but this one has me completely demented.
I work for Easigrass.com and we used to rank on page one for the key term "artificial grass". Now we're on page 3 and this has all happened since we launched the new (Better) site in February 2016.
We have better content, better seo, better social media and better linking than all of the major competitor sites but we still seem to be falling down the ranks. I don't know if its me just trying too hard and missing simple things but I cant see if we're being penalized or not.
For searches performed in the UK we're currently 22nd (we used to be 5th!) Our competitors are;
artificial-grass.com
expressgrass.com
artificialgrass-direct.com
artificiallawn.co.ukThe one area that keeps popping up is potentially keyword stuffing but that can't be the only problem. We must be getting penalised somewhere!

You probably have quite a few issues going on that would account for the drop in rankings. One that jumps out at me is that the site does not appear to be optimized for international SEO. For example, you have a subdirectory for Denmark with pages in Danish, but there's no hreflang tag to let Google know which country or language you are targeting. In fact, the tag for those pages includes lang="en-GB", indicating that the site is in English targeting the UK.
Here are some resources for International SEO that might help.

Wondering why my site ranks well for one page and not another.
Customers mainly find our site from searching very specific part numbers on google. My site is launch3telecom.com. Take for example these two parts:

MT500A-81015 MR050-81045 Search only those parts in google - we rank 3rd for one of them and don't rank at all for another. Is there any way to check backlinks pointing to those pages? We even show up before big sites like ebay and such on one of them. Can anyone help me understand this?0 -

How to compare my pages with a Keyword Difficulty Report
I'm very new to SEO, but know just enough to be dangerous. I've run my first full KWD report and formatted the results per Jordan Judson's blog post. Now I'd like to compare how related pages on my site compare to these results. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to accomplish this task. Any guidance would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Steve

Can't Grasp Why Pages rank Higher?
The first result "Bankruptcy on IRS" is the search term. Why does the first url rank higher in google. The second one, the IRS.gov page beats them in PA, DA root domains links. The title meta has bankruptcy near the front. unclefed does have the IRS keyword in the title, but an I missing something here? What are the other factors, that are most obvious. Sure one can have bad links, and other negative criteria, but these are pretty decent sites that probably don't engage in much in seo, let alone bad SEO. Sure link text and mix of links can help, but am I missing something here? Actually what I think I really need IS A CHECKLIST OF WHAT TO CHECK IN WHAT ORDER WHEN COMPARING WHY ONE PAGE RANKS BETTER THAN ANOTHER. Appreciate all discussions. Thanks in advance. http://www.unclefed.com/AuthorsRow/Daily/Fwdcsea.html http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=98701,00.html
