Sudden Drop in Organic Traffic through Image Search
-
We've have been facing a strange issue with our Organic Image Search Traffic since July month, 10th July 2016 to be precise. There is a significant decline in our Organic Image Search Traffic that we can see in our Google Search Console Account, We have noticed a sudden drop (Almost 80%-90%) in our daily clicks through image search in Google Search Console, Does anyone here have any idea why this has happened suddenly though everything is same as it was before and we haven't done any changes in image names and images path.

Hi there,
It's known that image search is rather random than understandable. Also, there has been some movements in the algorithm in the past 5-6 weeks.
Check two of the most used sources:
Mozcast.com
Agoroo.comAlso, have you checked if what images where the one ranked? Is it possible that those images where updated? Or that the newly ranked are more optimized?
Have you noticed any changes in your server? Loading time might be a plausible cause.Best Luck.

The rankings in Google image search move up and down constantly in response to new images entering the competition and rankings adjustments for historic images.
To really determine what is happening you need to look at which images were bringing you traffic before the traffic loss and which of those images have lost traffic. You can then go to the image SERPs and see how they rank today.
I believe that image optimization is a factor, but I mainly believe that visitor engagement is more important to the rankings of the images. Those that are clicked and viewed a lot are promoted over those that are not. There is not much that you can do about that exept produce more popular images.
If your image traffic has taken a massive loss it could be a result of infringement. Spammers grab lots of popular images and place them on their site, hoping that they do well in the image search results and pull in traffic. When they do that the traffic of the copyright owner tanks and the traffic of the infringer goes up. Then if the copyright owner polices the image SERPs and files DMCA complaints, google will remove the images that are complained about and the traffic of the site hosting them will fall. We file more DMCA complaints to image search than to any other type of search - and Google usually responds to them quickly.

Traffic cut-off since Google core update
Hi all, I am the webmaster of www.chepicap.com/en (Cryptocurrency news), and since the 3rd of june (Google core algorithm update) we got the hammer from Google. Organic traffic dropped with 90%+ overnight. We are still in the dark whether we can do to improve the current situation. Does someone have suggestions regarding this issue?

Anyone seeing big drops in Bing this month?
Seems like our Google rankings are improving on most sites, but BING took a big hit this month for many of the sites we working on. I have never seen them drop like this before. Anyone else seeing the same thing? I am wondering if it is because we are building a lot of brand links vs. keyword links and Bing still wants to see the keyword links. What have you seen?

Ranking drop Feb 2013?
I'm trying to get to the bottom of why Directholidays.co.uk suffered a drop in rankings for the term "cheap holidays" in February 2013. Im looking at this recently and as an outsider so I haven't got access to Webmaster tools and I haven't been tracking rankings/link profiling. They moved from 2nd to 10th temporarily and then recovered at 7th the new 10th! I've looked at keywords improved/declined on, keywords lost/gained, traffic, traffic price but im failing to see exactly what I can use to show whether Panda #24 (officially 22nd of January) had a significant effect. Can anyone shed any light on this? It would be massively appreciated!

Effectiveness of a Guest Blog if it is not getting you any traffic
Hi, I have been paying adequate attention to Guest Blogging for the past 4-5 months. I have posted good quality articles on some decently ranked websites. Of late I managed to get a guest post on a website with a page rank of 4. But I didn't get any referral traffic from it. My concern was will the Guest Blog also contribute to my Organic Search ? Will google give me any points if my links on the Guest Blog are not generating any traffic ? I was under the impression that Guest Blogs will work in your favour and will help in improving your search traffic only if you have visitors from that particular page. Any comments on this ? Eric

How to search for popular press releases
I would like to research popular press releases in my industry. Ones that got picked up by many popular outlets, got a lot of coverage etc. Besides mindlessly searching the web for press releases, is there a better way? Almost looking for a service that ranks press releases in terms of effectiveness.

Why have organic hits to my site suddenly started to fluctuate widely?
Hits to my website have been gradually growing over the last 2 years to a point where there was 1300 organics a day. Recently the hits crashed to 300 a day and stayed there for a couple of days. They then bounced back to 1300 a day for a few more days before crashing down to 300 again. This has happened a few times now. Oscillating between two points. Its like the site is crossing a threshold of something, back and forth. I have looked at different parts of my site and every part is down by approximately the same percentage. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Organic ranking vs Local ranking
After reading this blog entry from Dr Pete on Mirametrix, my question would be:

What's more important for a local company, being in the 7 pack or in the top 10 organic results? Which one attracts more clicks? Is the optimization for local ranking just became more important than the traditional SEO?0 -
