-
Hi,
i Have a website that is powerful and i dont want to hurt it.
right now i need a projects gallery page that people goes there to find out the models and products and services images. i have created the page and it would be 6 slider in the page and each slider has at least 10 images inside.
first question is having this much images would or wouldnt hurt my webiste.
second what ALT should i use for this many pictures in 1 page. for example i think having ALT like below in one page would be bad SEO wise.
Sliding-gate-1, Sliding-gate-2, Sliding-gate-3, Sliding-gate-4,...
please take a look at the gallery page and let me have your pro ideas.

Hi Roman,
I know the sliders are not working on the page and its because i didnt want to put them there yet.
i didnt set any shortcode yet for them because i wanted to first talk with you guys and get your ideas and then set them. so i know about problem.
i have already categorize them to type of garage doors but this gallery page is only for customer to see the designs for their home.its not for selling any products or service.people like to see the different designs.thats why i put them in slider.
please give me idea for an album of design if you think the slider is not good. how should i put the album of our projects in the web?
what should be the ALT? we have over 40 images and as i said i dont want to put for all of them the same ALT.
i think that is so spammy and is not a good SEO Practice. give me idea about the alt

Hi Mishel
1. As Miriam Ellis is saying, there is a problem with the sliders and Im pretty sure that the problem is the ID of Master Slider (probably the shortcode is mistyped). 10 years working with Wordpress told me that
if you have received the message “Invalid slider id. Master Slider ID must be a valid number.”, you might have inserted slider shortcode with wrong slider ID, or after inserting the slider shortcode, you have removed the main slider from the slider list page.
2. The images wouldn't hurt your website as long you optimize the performance of the site, in your looks that you already worked on that. But 3.2 MB of weight looks pretty heavy.
By the way the ALT DESCRIPTION are mandatory mainly for your local seo efforts

Thanks Roman,
this is not about the frontpage and this is not for products.
these slider will be for album. people want to choose from 1000 models of garage doors to install.and you should provide them an album to check the design.
please check the gallery page and home page and you'll find out what is the exact question.

Hi Mishel,
Thank you for inviting the community to brainstorm this important decision with you. I'm visiting your gallery page right now, and unfortunately, half of the sliders aren't loading for me ... I'm getting an "invalid slider ID or alias" message instead. The page loaded very slowly for me, and while technical SEO/UX isn't my area of expertise, the current state of the page concerns me, due to broken sections and slow loading. From a brief look at your site, it seems you carry a variety of garage door options and are looking for a way to provide a big-picture presentation of all the options so that the customer can drill down from there to the product that most appeals to them.
Instead of using sliders, how about breaking down the garage doors by types (wood, steel, swing, etc.) and then presenting the main page for them something like this Crate & Barrel setup for outdoor umbrellas: https://www.crateandbarrel.com/outdoor-furniture/outdoor-umbrellas/1
From this page on Crate & Barrel, you can then drill down to a unique page with each umbrella on it, which would be a great place for you to write fully about each garage door choice.

Focus
What you’re saying with a slider is basically: “I really don’t know which product or picture I should put on display on my homepage, so I’ll just grab 10 of them!” In that case, you really need to add focus. If you don’t know what to choose, how would your visitors or clients?
You should know what your own business is about and what product or picture deserves that front page spotlight.By focusing on the right (static) image or message, you will give people a far better feel of your business, and you as a person, than a slider ever could. Not in the least because sliders, as we’ve said twice now, are simply ignored in most cases. And a message that’s ignored hardly ever comes across (notice the sarcasm).
SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization
There is another reason why we recommend against sliders. Sliders push down your main content, plain and simple. In fact, most sliders we encounter in our consultancy these days, are big enough to fill out any screen. This means the content won’t even be visible above the fold. And this backfires on your SEO efforts, which we’ve already shown through the article linked in the list of findings above.
There’s not a CRO expert that will disagree with us on this: sliders kill your conversions. So simply having a slider on your website, will get you less sales than without that slider! If that’s not a deal breaker, I seriously don’t know what is.
Just combine the two and realize what a monstrosity the slider actually is. It kills your rankings and your conversions!

answering your first question
R.Yes will hurt your websiteWhy?
https://yoast.com/opinion-on-sliders/
https://unbounce.com/conversion-rate-optimization/10-conversion-killers-and-the-hacks-to-fix-them/Let’s look at some of the findings:
1. Only 1% of the people actually click on a slide, which almost always was the first slide;
2. Sliders confuse people, as you’re sending multiple offers they may or may not be interested in at once;
3. People simply ignore your slider, because it triggers banner blindness;
On that same note, visitors just don’t get the message because they will skip the messages in your slider as they consider it advertisement or promotions;
4. They slow down your site, negatively impacting your SEO and conversion rate;
5. Sliders don’t always work well on mobile devices;
6. They push down your content, which is not smart, as Google already mentioned in 2012;
It’s most probably as effective to use just one image instead of putting all that effort in slider plugins and images.That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Over the years, many studies have shown that sliders should be avoided.

SEO Best Practice for Managing a Businesses NAP with Multiple Addresses
I have a client with multiple business addresses - 3 across 3 states, from an SEO perspective what would be the best approach for displaying a NAP on the website? So far I've read that its best: to get 3 GMB account to point to 3 location pages & use a local phone number as opposed to a 1300 number. Display all 3 locations in the footer, run of site

Call Tracking Best Practises for General SEO
Hey folks, So I'm aware of the importance of consistent citations, and the mayhem call tracking numbers have been known to cause in regards to that in that past. So just wanted some up to date clarification on these two things: Local SEO isn't strictly speaking a big deal for us as we supply a software and as such are technically global. I'm presuming consistent citations are still worth aiming for though, and will help increase general authority as well? Let me know if I'm totally wrong about that! What's the best practise set up for call tracking, given that your main NAP number you'd obviously want hardcoded somewhere, alongside showing your dynamic numbers to relevant visitors. Apologies for any ignorance, as always any help and advice is muchos appreciato.

Can you, somehow, use dynamic number insertion on a click to call button (image)
Hello Moz! I have been beating my head against the wall for a few hours, and I am starting to get a headache. My question is simple: I am doing some work for a local salon, and we started a PPC campaign recently. It's very important that I get accurate ROI metrics from both our PPC efforts and Yelp advertising program, and the best way to do this is by using custom phone numbers and dynamic number insertion w/ CallRail to track phone calls being made to the salon. I can then cross reference the numbers used to call with the salon POS software to see what they spent, how many appts. they booked, etc. A VERY large portion, the majority in fact, of traffic comes from mobile, and in the past I had a big, fat, beautiful CTA click-to-call button that showed the salon phone number. However, I have found that with dynamic number insertion, and my near non-existent programming skills, it is impossible to have the number dynamically insert into an href image. Sooooo...any ideas on how to do this, or is it just not possible????

SEO and Redirecting Site to a Different Firm's Domain while Maintaining Current Domain's Rankings
I am a plaintiffs' attorney with a website that ranks well for my major practice areas. I am considering taking a position with a new firm. As part of the discussion, the new firm would allow me to keep my current site so long as it redirects to my bio page on their firm's site. My goal is to keep my current site ranking well and continuously work on SEO efforts, in case I leave the new firm and want to rely on my current site in the future. My questions are: Is there a way to redirect my site every time it shows up in the listings (I have 1000+ indexed pages) without sacrificing its current rankings b/c of bounce rate issues, etc and 2) If I continue to add pages and work on SEO for my site while it redirects to another, will those efforts be worthwhile due to the redirect? I want to keep trying to build my site even though it redirects to a page on a different domain.

SEO for local business directory type site
I am thinking about creating a local business directory type website that lists all local Tattoo Shops. I am familiar with both local and global SEO and how to differentiate between them, however, I am not sure how I should approach this type of website. It isn't an actual business, but I want to target local searches that are looking for tattoo shops. In other words, when someone types in "tattoo shops" or "tattoo shops near me", or "tattoo parlors", I want the website to appear. Is this something that is manageable, or will the individual Tattoo Shop websites always show before mine since they are real local businesses with google+ pages?

SEO companies
Hello, I hear there are a lot of small SEO companies in Boston (that have about 2-3 people) - does anyone know of any they can suggest? They don't necessarily have to be in Boston - please suggest small SEO consultancies if you know of any. Thanks! -Polyvore
