Geographically Specific Keyword Research - What do you use?
-
Does anyone recommend a particular keyword research tool or tools for geographically modified keywords? i.e. Web DesignerF Fargo.
I often find that searches focused on services in the area we serve does not get the traffic volume Google's keyword tool needs to provide me with a number. I know the traffic is there, because I see it coming in via analytics.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
-
I would suggest both, since someone might be searching for it while on a trip or visiting the family during the weekend and hence might not be geographically in the town at the time of his/her search.

Good idea. Thanks!
I'd been kicking something similar around but hadn't thought about the details. Do you suggest going for geographically targeted campaigns, and use non-modified phrases, (i.e. a campaign that targets New York for the phrase "Computer repair") or actually using the city or town in the keyword you bid on (i.e. "New York Computer Repair)? Or both?

Run adwords and bid high enough to get an impression on every pageview.
That gives you an opportunity to get numbers and test traffic.

Should I use our brand when choosing keywords/making lists?
I have recently joined an accounting firm and am in charge of SEO as we revamp the website. As this is the first time I've done SEO for this type of site, my question is: Should the keywords I choose include our Brand (name of the company) in the keyword. For example, I'm not trying to rank #1 for "Careers" but I do want to rank #1 for " <ourbrand>Careers". So, should I include the brand when doing my research, making lists, etc.?</ourbrand> If the question doesn't make sense, please ask for clarification.

Bulk keyword competition tool?
The SEOmoz Keyword Difficulty tool is great, but the 5 keyword limit is too small. I need a tool that will allow checking the organic competition level of 100's of keywords (to help in selecting blog topics). Anyone know of such a tool?

Keyword with or without stress?
hi to everyone, I'm new here I'm doing some research for keywords related to sofa in brazil. Portuguese use lot of stress in writing words. there are many important keywords that should be written with the stress. For example: sofás but I'm measuring many more researches for the same word without stress (see attachment). This is the same for many other key phrases with 2 or 3 words. in 90% of the case, key phrases without stress has many more researches Now I have 3 questions: results are very similar for these two keys. are really two different keys or are they the same for google? what number to keep for total search? the higher? the sum between the two? what keywords I have to use in the pages? "sofás" is the correct one, but "sofas" has many more research? U1sYe.png

Different pages with same keyword phrase.
I have my home page and an interior page targeting the same keyword phrase. Is this ok or would they be competing with each other?

Keyword research is tough isn’t it ?
I am only just realising that the Google Keyword Tool I use is aimed at Adwords customers and where competition is stated as low, they mean competition for adverts. When I have a ridiculously low amount of links and an equally low Domain Authority finding keywords is not easy. I presume there is some correlation between the SEOMOZ Keyword Difficulty score and the amount of Adwords traffic, but even very low Adwords Traffic Search Terms still seem to be moderately competitive. I guess its a case of plugging away with the Keyword Difficulty tool.
