Business located inside hotel showing as "Duplicate"
-
Hi Moz,
I am going to be cleaning up and optimizing our client’s business listings using Moz Local Essential package. The client is a hotel and the bar inside of the hotel.
When I used the Moz tool to check the current status of the hotel's business listings, the score returned 5 possible duplicates. The 5 listings that were returned as duplicates are the bar located inside the hotel. When the bar runs through the Moz tool, the hotel is returned as a duplicate.
On Google My Business, the bar is shown as “located in” the hotel. Is this an option that can be implemented across other business listing sites via Moz? If not, what steps can be taken to prevent these “duplicates” from negatively impacting SEO and rankings for the two businesses?
Thanks in advance!

This is correct. Also it will be important that the bar is listed completely independent from the hotel name, just as if it was in its own building across the street. The directories we submit do not support containing location identifiers. How it is currently listed on Google as no impact as long as the business name and local phone number is unique.
Hope this helps!

As long as phone numbers are different and businesses operate in different niches you should be fine.
It's a heads up for you on Moz's part.

SEO for multiple retail locations
I have a retail client with some 200 plus retail locations around the U.S. In light of this I am wondering about the best way for them to be practicing SEO with regards to social and multiple locations. Moz Local recommends listings with services/sites like Yelp, Yellow Pages, Acxiom, Foursquare, Facebook, etc, but what is best to do when one has many locations? Should there be a listing in these services for each retail location? Do they stick to 1 of each social sites but have a listing for each store in each online business directory? What about Google +, which seems to play an increasing role? Thanks

Does the "Unmanaged" number go up immediately after submission?
I just submitted a CSV file with the information about 3 businesses to Moz Local, but I can't tell if it went through properly. The page gave me a message saying "0 are ready to publish. 0 need validation", and didn't list any errors in my listings. However, the number next to "Unmanaged" is still a 0. I know from looking at some of the other questions on here that from the time that Moz sends the information out, it can take a few weeks for the listings to propagate. But I'm not sure whether or not it's supposed to take some amount of time for uploaded listings to show up on here as Unmanaged listings. Should I try resubmitting, or does it just take a few minutes/hours for unmanaged listings to show up?
