Some questions about URL structure and multi country website
-
Gajanand angela dayHi,
I have a question from SEO experts and web developers.
I want to setup a job website for 5 countries. for each country i will provide daily jobs listing on the basis of
1. jobs by categories - for example : accounting jobs. IT jobs, Sales jobs
2. jobs by city - for example : jobs in boston, jobs in chicago
3. jobs by companies for example : jobs in facebook, jobs in emiratescase :
a company name " emirates " located in "boston" having vacancy of "accounting job " having position of full timethis case job will be present in following categories .
1. accounting jobs in boston
2. jobs in boston
3. jobs in emiratesand open any above option there will be filter box on left side showing
position i.e full time
salary i.e 1000-1500
location i.e boston,chicagoQ.1
i want to know when user search on google these terms "accounting jobs in boston " or "jobs in boston" or "jobs in emirates" same job will displaywhich url structure is recommended in for each search term?
Q.2 how we can do on page SEO for these terms because jobs listing will be changing daily because of new jobs addition and content is changing not
Q.3 should i create website on separate domains for each country or same domain but with different folders in it
.co.uk or com/uk for UK and .ae OR .com/uae for UAENote : i will also attach blog on it and each blog will focus on specific country knowledge for example for USA , how to find jobs in new york and for UAE how to find jobs in Dubai etc .
Thanks in Advance

Hi Shahjahaaan
I am pretty sure I just answered your question on Facebook! If not I apologise but it looks the same
If you have 5 countries to target it is very ambitious without having a good SEO holding your hand. But my advice is:
1. Use a single brand name .com for all sites, so for example website.com
2. Each country has a country-specific folder:
website.com/en
website.com/us
wesbite/com/ca3. Use an hreflang tag on every page pointing to the page itself and the other country versions of the page.

Google will now not see each of the sites as duplicate even if you post the same content.
4. Folders can be defined to separate categories.
website.com/en/accounting
website.com/en/london
website.com/en/facebookIf a job exists in two categories it isn't a problem. - If of course the whole category is duplicated and all jobs the same then you either should not have the separation or you could canonicalise if you really wanted to keep both.

The fact that the jobs change every day is unimportant as long as the categories are well defined.
I hope this helps
Regards
Nigel

Removed URLs
Hi all, We have recently removed 200+ articles from our blog. However, those links are still being shown on Google weeks after their removal. In there a way to speed up the process? What effect will this have on our SEO ranking?

301 for a Very Long URL
Hey gang, Thanks ahead of time for the help. I have a url somehow that is very very long: http://www.colbysphotography.com/wedding-caterers-knoxville-east-tennessee/Here is an extensive list of wedding venues in the Knoxville and East Tennessee region. If you find that any of these links are not working, that the venues are no longer in business, or have a suggestion for an additional venue (at no charge), please contact Colby. Colby's Photography works hard on keeping this list helpful. I have tried Yoast Premium on a wordpress site to redirect the url but it doesn't seem to keep. I've tried a few other redirect plugins with not help either. I would love some suggestions on this one! Colby

Regarding Structured Data
I was wondering if you have any insight as to why my star ratings are yet to show up in google SERPs. I've set up a test (months ago) just to test the formatting, my code looks like this: <span typeof="<a class="attribute-value">v:Review-aggregate</a>" xmlns:v="<a class="attribute-value">http://rdf.data-vocabulary.org/#</a>">There are currently <span property="<a class="attribute-value">v:count</a>">15span> reviews for <span property="<a class="attribute-value">v:itemreviewed</a>">Ford Mustang brakesspan> with an average rating of <span rel="<a class="attribute-value">v:rating</a>"><span typeof="<a class="attribute-value">v:Rating</a>"><span property="<a class="attribute-value">v:average</a>">4.50span> out of <span property="<a class="attribute-value">v:best</a>">5span> stars.span>span>span> Any ideas why it hasn't show up yet?

Would these be considered dynamic URLs?
Hi, I have a (brand) new client (outdoor recreation), and it links to many different lodges. It's built in Wordpress (Pagelines), and the partner page link URLs. Although they do have the "?" in there, it's only has a single parameter. http://www.clientsite/?partners=partner-name Google is indexing the URLs, I do plan to increase the amount of content/on-page for each. Yet, weighing the risk/reward of rewriting all of these URLs.

Question for experts - a website is ranking defying all google rules
Hi all Today I saw a strange result in google's search page. When I typed a keyword: Rezeptfrei bestellen, it gave me results like number 1- http://www.rezeptfreibestellen.com/ If I check this site in opensiteexplorer, this is nothing but a new site with no backlinks, or any other offpage work. Onpage work is simply keyword stuffing and domain name is also same as keyword. Now why google ranked this website above others? Where are google EMD and Penguin, Panda? Amit

E-commerce site multi language product urls
Hi, On my E-commerce site I use optimized Url's (product names) with my native language (Hebrew) I am going to translate some of the product pages to English with differnat descriptions, correct layout, etc... But I was wandering about the product Url's. Should I stay with the original product URL and add a language parameter to the url? Should I add a completely new URL using the English product name? Of course what I'm worrying the most of is duplicate content. Thanks, Asaf

Question on 301s
Hi Everyone, I have a questions on 301 redirects, i hope someone can give me some help on this. There was some 301 redirects made on some of the URLs at the beginning of the year, however we are now re-structuring the whole website, which means the URLs which had been given a 301 redirect are now getting another 301. The question is, should i delete the first 301 redirect from the htaccess file? Kind Regards
