Least expensive, correctly done way to hire product descriptions done.
-
Hello,
WHAT WE NEED NOW:
We need 300 product descriptions done. We have reached the point where we're hiring this done. How would you recommend we go about this.
200 products will be rewriting the supplier's product descriptions (one sentence each) and filling out a quicktable. There's just nothing to do there, no information anywhere.
About 100 products will be where the person writing the description and filling out the table will have to google the product's manufacturer and rewrite the information off of that website in an intelligible, interesting, paragraph that is informative.
Would you recommend we hire someone local to come work in our office that specializes in our niche, or are there any GOOD services out there for our case, even if it's just for the first 200.
OUR FUTURE PLANS:
We'll guess at the top few products and do some 10X work ourselves. No hiring needed there.
Once we know the top 50 products we will do some more deep hiring for 10X product descriptions, but that can wait.
Thanks.

Hi BobGW, I can point you in the direction of a great content writer, who has experience with technical writing as well. He's always done a great job for me! Let me know if you're interested (FYI I would not get a cut of his services -- I'm just happy to make the connection).

Why does Google rank a product page rather than a category page?
Hi, everybody In the Moz ranking tool for one of our client's (the client sells sport equipment) account, there is a trend where more and more of their landing pages are product pages instead of category pages. The optimal landing page for the term "sleeping bag" is of course the sleeping bag category page, but Google is sending them to a product page for a specific sleeping bag.. What could be the critical factors that makes the product page more relevant than the category page as the landing page?

Can you expedite the correction of erroneous information on the Knowledge Graph?
I have a client who is a major player in the continuing education vertical. They have recently noticed that the Google Knowledge Graph is displaying erroneous information whenever somebody searches for their brand name (no matter the location/IP address). The brand Knowledge Graph is pulling information from a permanently closed location. Our client has multiple locations. Why Google decided to pull data from this particular (closed) location is beyond us. Our client has reclaimed the permanently closed location Google+ page and they are going to permanently delete it. However we are wondering if there is anyway to expedite the process of updating the Knowledge Graph. Is there anyway to submit feedback to Google about the KG? Is there anyway to request a Knowledge Graph correction? The erroneous "permanently closed" data is very embarrassing for our client.

Best way of connecting with key influencers
Hi, I've identified a list of key influencers within my niche. I now want to connect with them, specifically to ask them to provide regular content for our site (they'll hopefully promote it via their own channels as well as us doing some promotion). The reason I want to do this is because it's easier to move Mohammed than the mountain! - I want to piggy-back on their success! How would you go about doing this? Some of the influencers are follwing us on Twitter and I've had some nice discussions with them over the last few months or so (our Twitter has only been going since about March this year). Would you reach out via Twitter, or call them up? I really don't want to mess this up! Thanks, Amelia

Adding new content wanted to see if we are correct path
Hello SEO’ers. This is my second post here on SEOmoz and I have a question / look it over type of deal. I have been reading through the information I have found here on SEOmoz from the community and it has been very informative and helpful. My question deals with my site http://www.tacticalbootstore.com One of the things we have learned is we needed better content as what we had was too thin. We have completely rewritten all of the manufacturer pages and are uploading them now 10/14 complete. This content I believe is about as unique as it will get. New Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/belleville-boots-m-74.html Old Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/altama-boots-m-86.html From these Manufacturer pages we have also written 3 other pages that are linked to from the manufacturer page Buyers Guide Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/belleville-boots-buying-guide-a-98.html FAQ Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/frequently-asked-questions-about-bellville-boots-a-96.html Sizing Information Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/belleville-boots-sizing-chart-a-97.html I believe this creates a virtual silo? We are in the process of rewriting all of the item product descriptions as well as that content was too thin. New Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/blackhawk-83bt02de-mens-desert-ops-boot-p-3916.html Old Example here: http://www.tacticalbootstore.com/altama-mens-inch-exo-boots-p-4086.html Please take note we have only uploaded the 1 new item description the rest of them still have thin content. We hope to have all of the products written and posted by week’s end. Would you guys mind checking what I have submitted here and tell me if we are on the correct path or not? Do you have any other ideas we could implement? I really appreciate your time in looking at this for me. I hope one day to be able to contribute to the community as well with the knowledge I will learn here. Thank you, Chris

Unsure where Google has sourced this inaccurate Product Data
Hi, This is a slightly odd one I was hoping someone could shed some light on. One of our staff just did a Google search and located these listings on Google UK Product Search: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ink+cartridges&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1074&bih=499&tbm=shop&prmd=imvns#q=ink+cartridges&hl=en&sa=X&tbs=store:3287803270081455254&tbm=shop&prmd=imvns&ei=xp5pUP6uN8i_0QXUuoHADQ&ved=0CI0BEMcMMAE&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=333b49ec245f6031&biw=1074&bih=499 Do you happen to have any idea where Google is getting this regionalised data from and in particular the pricing which is incorrect? We have a Google (UK) Product Feed however the prices given are different than those being displayed in this localised search. Additionally the product feed that we supply relates to our main website and not a specific store. If you click through to compare prices from multiple merchants you'll see our prices being listed correctly under our company name and website rather than the incorrect pricing attributed to a specific store. I have checked our Google Places Account and our Google Product Feed Account but I just can't figure out where this data and incorrect pricing is coming from and indeed why it only affects our physical stores and not the more generalised website pricing. If someone could point me in the right direction so I can get this corrected I’d appreciate it! Many thanks Chris

Removing hundreds of old product pages - Best process
Hi guys, I've got a site about discounts/specials etc. A few months ago we decided it might be useful to have shop specials in PDF documents "pulled" and put on the site individually so that people could find the specials easily. This resulted in over 2000 new pages being added to the site over a few weeks (there are lots of specials).
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | cashchampion
However, 2 things have happened: 1 - we have decided to go in another direction with the site and are no longer doing this
2 - the specials that were uploaded have now ended but the pages are still live Google has indexed these pages already. What would be the best way to "deal" with these pages? Do I just delete them, do I 301 them to the home page? PS the site is build on wordpress. Any ideas as I am at a complete loss. Thanks,
Marc0
