High Domain Authority Even Though It has spam links to it...?
-
I own a domain that can provide links to my website, but it seems to have picked up a lot of spammy links - 2000+ linking domains. SeoMoz toolbar still gives it a domain authority of 66.
Should I use the domain to link to my site? Or will it have a negative impact?
-
Just a thought...would it be more beneficial just to use a 301 redirect to redirect the domain to my main domain name?
Would it retain the link domain authority?
-
Thanks that's a very helpful answer.
The domain name is the same owner and same server IP, so probably wouldn't massively valuable - however, it makes sense from a business point of view anyway, so I will probably do it, as long as it isn't a negative effect.

As long as your website hasn't got a particulary spammy link profile then adding spammy links to it should make no difference. Google recognises the fact that anyone can link to your sites and potential 'spam bomb' your site with numerous dodgy links, so rather than penalising you for it, if Google didn't like a link, it would just devalue the link to your site.
If it's got a DA of 66, then it's probably worth linking to your site. Although DA can't tell us if google has penalised a particular site, it's still a good measure.
On another note, be aware that google has the ability to detect sites that are linking to each other from the same server, C-Block or even with similar registration details. Therefore it's possible for your link to be devalued if it recognises it as coming from the same source/owner.

Sending Domain Authority from Root www domain to *
Hello all Some advice please. Im working with a friend who has a website (obviously). Its based on wordpress and is accessible by the link http://exampledomain.com. The problem is he has some good links out there which are pointing at http://www.exampledomain.com. As yet Im uncertain how he has setup his DNS, he maybe is doing a forward which would leave the DA back with the www subdomain. What is his best practice to inherit those links into his actual domain? Thanks

Footer Links And Link Juice
I'm starting to learn about link juice and notice in GWMT > Traffic > Internal Links, that the list is in this order by the links counted on each page. Some are in the footer and some are in the header, with some being more important than others commercially i.e. /register /privacy /terms /search /sitemap /disclaimer /blog /register So I am wondering if I should add a 'no-follow' attribute to the footer links i.e. privacy, terms, disclaimer and leave the others as they are? Does this help retain link juice on each page where the links appear? Or am I missing the point all together? This is my website: http://goo.gl/CN0e5

Link building from keyword domains
Hi all, I am currently working on link building to our site http://www.betxpert.com which has a number of keywords I am targeting. I have become aware that domains with the keywords are available. We (in Danish) target the phrase "ekpert tips" and the domain www.eksperttips.dk is available. Would it be a good thing for us, to register this domain and do one of the following things: a) DNS forward traffic to our main site b) Build a small blog with minor content and linking to the main site with text links with the tekst "ekspert tips"? c) Simply do nothing, save the money and spend it otherwise... Hope someone can give me a sound advice. Best regards, Rasmus

Linkbuilding from sites with lower Domain Authority and Page Rank than mine?
I have decided to approach all my suppliers and ask them for a link. If their site has a lower PR/DA than mine (PR4, DA43) is is it still worth asking them from a link, given the time that needs to be invested in this type of link building?
