Linkbuilding from different niche!
-
Hi Mozzers,
I have a small question.
If my website niche is Rent a Car, and lot of friends, people around the world, have restaurant, for example friend of me was a CHEF of restaurant for about 15years, and now he started working with Cars, how is danger if he receive backlinks from the restaurant websites?
Its this danger? can google penalize the site if receive backlinks from different niche, different cctld domains, and language too?
Thanks

thats what I do, keep a mix, try to get 80%+ close to the niche.

It's not a fine art. Google is far, far, far from perfect. Just build links as you would, just try to find places to post more niche relevant than your competitors, so you have the upper hand.
-
Just maked some competitor analyse, maybe 85% of backlinks, are from different niche. 15% image backlinks, 25% widget backlinks, 10% like article, and the rest only keyword with link on it or URL.
Why google doesnt penalise this pages?
-
Do you mean from 100 different domains, or completely backlinks.
Because i see here, he have more than 25,000 from 50 root domains, because their partner have placed the link to him at all pages.
And some of them arre on blogroll, on any right page of site the company name of this car website, and link, nothing more no descripton nothing.
Should i tell him to make a descripton about 50characters with keyword on it?

Google will not penalise you from getting links from different niches. The links will not carry as much weight as if they were from relevent content.
Google will penalise you if this is done in a spammy way. For example, if you all of a sudden receive hundreds of links from restaurant sites, where there is no context to your content, Googlebot is going to find this strange and potentially raise a flag against your site.

White hat techniques for difficult niches
Hi all. We've been approached by a client in the online gambling sector about white hat link building. Much of our focus is on guest blogging, but most sites have a no gambling policy. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for link building ethically for tricky niches.

Linkbuilding Suggestions For Technical Site
Hi Mozzers, I'm facing a tough link building challenge for a manufacturer's representative of technical controls and am struggling to find links beyond directories. The site mainly consists of manufacturers products and creating original content is tough for me because of the technical nature of the business. Any suggestions welcome.

Are directories still an option for linkbuilding
I know that after the recent slate of Google updates, many free directories got taken down. We've typically used the list of directories placed on SEOmoz (www.seomoz.org/directories). Before adding a site to a directory, we always check to see if it is indexed by Google. Is this still a safe option or should directories be avoided?

How important are different class c subnets and ip's
We're thinking of launching several blogs in our niche and 'building them up' organically, and then linking naturally from them to our sites (very conservatively). I was wondering if we should buy entirely separate hosting for these blogs and how important are separate ip addresses and class c subnets (shown on majestic SEO tools for instance). Is it possible to create a set of authoritative blogs in a niche and have them be a little 'neighborhood' within the same shared hosting provider (obv similiar class c or even same ip).

Outsourcing Linkbuilding: Companies, Costs, Payment models
Hi there I am looking at outsourcing linikbuilding to a new content site. I want to target one 3 word keyphrase to begin with, it has a keyword difficulty of 48% (moderately competitive) on Google US. Goal is to rank 1-3, the target page is well on-page optimised. Here are my questions: Are there companies that have performance based payment models? Any rough guestimates on how much money is needed to get a page to rank 1-3 for a 48% difficulty level keyword? Over how many months? Any recommendations for good companies? Thanks a bunch, Chris

Same Content on Different Blogs
We host our blog on WordPress as part of our site. The blog "address" is www.website.com/blog/post. If I were to take the same content that's on this blog and post it on a Blogger account we have, would Google consider that duplicate content? If not, would there be any benefit to doing this?

Nich phrase ranking
I'm trying to get a page ranked for a niche phrase. There are a few established players in the industry but no competition for this phrase beyond that. Open site explorer reports that main competitor for the phrase this page points to has 538 links but they are all internal with no extermal links. DA is 45 and PA is 25 My client has25 links for the phrase this page points to from 10 unique external domains in addition to internal links. Domain is only 3 months old. DA is 20 and PA is 30. Right now I'm buried in back pages and feel I should be higher. Should my strategy be to build trust and authority or concentrate on more keyword specific links?
