What social would be good, what buttons to use
-
Hello,
What social media do you recommend for
nlpca(dot)com
and what kind of buttons convert best for a site like that?
We're working on facebook right now:

So far I like the buttons on the top right of this site: weddingmountain(dot)com.
Thanks!

Currently you have a share Facebook button, however a "like" is much easier for the user (just one click) and still shows up in the user's timeline. I'd suggest changing that to just a "like" button. It wouldn't hurt to have a link to your facebook page as well.
Since your page is so new, I'd ask all your friends and family to like your page so that it looks like it has a few more interested people.
I also agree with Phillip that you'll probably need to test what works best for you. There is no magic number or formula when it comes to placing social buttons.
Hope this helps!

Let's focus on facebook. Do you suggest that we just put the basic 'like' button up for now?

It's nlpca (with an L) not nipca (with an i) I think is why you oculdn't see the site. It shows up fine on this end.

You're probably going to need to test to get the answers to these questions. Those buttons on weddingmountain look good, but that's because they fit into the theme of the site so well. Once you have a theme set up you can find buttons that match, and then you can play with placement to see what works for you.
Also, nipca doesn't seem to be a site yet.... I got the default GoDaddy page when I visited it.

Creative ideas to invite G +1 button clicks
Hello, What's some creative white hat ways to get people to click our G +1 button? A competitor is offering a coupon in return but isn't that black hat? What are some 100% white hat ways?

Facebook Like Button or Like Box
Hi, A client has a FB like button on their website but is frustrated that those "likes" are disconnected from their company FB page. It is possible that they could change their website like button, to a like box, which will then mean people are liking their FB page and give them a greater opportunity for on-going engagement through FB. However, from an SEO perspective is it better for them to attract likes & potential sharing of their website content rather than their FB content? Thanks.

Facebook Like button on website: which "URL to Like"? Website or Facebook Page?
Hello, I have a question about the Facebook Like Button. We we are setting up a Like Button to put on the top page of our website (300 likes) However, we already have a Facebook Page (1000 likes). Now, in the set up of the button, we need to decide which "URL to Like" and I really do cannot realize which one is best. Do you think we should use the url of our website or the url of our Facebook Page? Why? Thank you in advance for your help, Dario

Social button yes or social button no...
Hi everybody! It's quite clear that if you have a pretty, clean, compact html code on your website, Google loves you as a lovely mom does with her kids. But it's not a dream world and you have actually to choose between social and clean code. In fact to add, for example, the Facebook social button, you have to include some files from the Facebook servers. Even though the googlebot doesn't download them (but people do, with page optimization decreasing), it reads some javascript code. Moreover you have to add some code where you want the button appears. I think it hasn't much sense for the googlebot, so that could it be punitive for your website / page to place that bunch of code? In the end my question is the following: Does the social power win against negative factors like additional files to download and a bunch of ugly code in your body? social power > bad factors (file downloading+more code)?

Need a good Oracle friendly CMS to host our blog
I'm trying to convince my tech dept to take our blog off of a subdomain and move it to a folder on our root domain. Understandably, they don't want to build it from scratch, so I need some good CMS tools to build the blog. Our first choice is Wordpress but it isn't compatible with Oracle. Does anybody know of any good solutions that are Oracle-friendly? Our platform is PHP.. Thanks!!
