Webpage is ranking on google.ie / google.co.uk but not google.com?
-
One of our site webpage appears to be found in the first few pages on google.ie / google.co.uk but not on google.com. Is there such a thing being penalised on a specific Google domain?
Traffic is healthy despite this but I want to rank well for the page in google.com.
Any ideas?

Single-page penalties are uncommon but possible. Is the page indexed? That's step one. If it is, are you seeing duplicates when you search your index (use the "site:" operator) for the page's title? If so, it could be a filter. If you're indexed but not ranking even on exact-match terms (in quotes), it could be a penalty.

Thanks guys.
It appears one of our page seems to be penalised as it is not appearing in top 1000 in .Com or .IE. Could a specific page be penalised and not affect the rest of the site?
The page is showing in Google Places on the first page which I think would not show if it was penalised.
BUT I can't see how this page would be penalised..

You should check if you are ranked within the top 1000 pages on google.com (add &num=100 to the URL to see 100 SERP results at a time). If you are ranked just not in the top spots, as Irving said you are merely not geotrageted for the US in the eyes of Google.
However, if your site is not in the top 1000 spots it is likely because of a specific google penalty.
-
So you're not penalized, you're filtered by Google to show for your proper region based on the location you are providing.
IF it's a travel type of site or something that would appeal to a lot of people in the US potentially visiting IE then I would try to geotarget for the US.
Whoever your target market is should be your focus. It's good that it is a .com otherwise a .IE wouldn't rank in Google.com well. I would consider purchasing the domain as well and play around with setting a IE targeted site with that while casting the wider net for your .com site.

@Irving Weiss
a) No geo targeting set as we offer services in Ireland that applies to anyone globally that would/want to visit Ireland.
b) Webpage does show Irish address as well as local business address on website.
c) domain is .com
Any input would be great.
-
a) Are you geo targeting in google webmaster tools?
b) Is your site regional and does it include things like addresses from that area?
c) Is your domain a .com or a .co.uk for example?

Hi Experts!!! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year In Advance. I am been facing a issue with a few of my SERP results for "Singapore Visa" and related keyword. Until last to last Saturday i.e 16th December, I ranked for Singapore visa keyword with this url https://in.musafir.com/Visa/singapore-visa.aspx !!! But since 18th December I am ranking for "Singapore Visa" keyword with this url and message below it in place of description. Singapore visa - Musafir.com

go.musafir.com/Singapore-visa
No information is available for this page.
Learn why The go.musafir.com/Singapore-visa redirects to https://in.musafir.com/Visa/singapore-visa.aspx with some UTM parameters. The URL go.musafir.com/Singapore-visa is a shortened URL which was used for SMS marketing and all of a sudden Google has picked it in SERP instead of Singapore VIsa Landing Page. The Singapore visa Main page is not blocked by Robots.txt file. Please help me to resolve this.1 -
US domain pages showing up in Google UK SERP
Hi, Our website which was predominantly for UK market was setup with a .com extension and only two years ago other domains were added - US (.us) , IE (.ie), EU (.eu) & AU (.com.au) Last year in July, we noticed that few .us domain urls were showing up in UK SERPs and we realized the sitemap for .us site was incorrectly referring to UK (.com) so we corrected that and the .us domain urls stopped appearing in the SERP. Not sure if this actually fixed the issue or was such coincidental. However in last couple of weeks more than 3 .us domain urls are showing for each brand search made on Google UK and sometimes it replaces the .com results all together. I have double checked the PA for US pages, they are far below the UK ones. Has anyone noticed similar behaviour &/or could anyone please help me troubleshoot this issue? Thanks in advance, R

Number of Items As a Google Ranking Factor??
If I search for "hiking boots" and scan down the SERPs I see the following... Google reports "483 items" for the Zappos.com page. Google reports "Results 1 - 36 of 85" for the Shoebuy.com page (and that does not appear in their code). So, Google is obviously paying attention to the depth of your information or the number of items that you are showing. If they think that is important enough to count and report in the SERPs, might they also be using that information as a ranking factor?? PRACTICAL APPLICATION FOR SEO: If google is using this information, perhaps people should list all of their color, size, etc variants on a single page. For example if you sell widgets in five colors, instead of making one page for each color, list all five on the same page.

Google Unable to Access Robots.txt
We haven't made any changes to the robots.txt file and suddenly Google claims they can no longer access the file. The site has been up and active for well over a year now. What are my next steps? I have included a screenshot of the top half of the file. See anything wrong? D3H5tgE.png

Why is this site ranking 1st?
I'm a relative SEO newbie, so please go easy on me. I've been an SEOMOZ pro user for a few months and have used it to dramatically improve my organic rankings. However, for the life of me, I cannot determine why the site that currently ranks number one, does so. For the factors I can determine, they shouldn't be ranking where they are, but reality is different. Could someone please offer me some ideas? My target keyword is "photography classes edmonton" My site is www.bsop.ca and I'm targetting the Google Canada engine. Any and all assistance is appreciated.

Google UK search volumes
If a user searches using Google.com but is based in the UK, is it classed as a Google UK search or a Google US search in terms of monthly search volumes? Most of my clients are targeting UK consumers and often rank well on Google UK but outside the top fifty for Google US. I have mentioned that that is fine unless a client happens to use google.com. Am I talking rubbish?
