Sudden Site Rankings Drop
-
Good day guys,
We have been following strict SEO strategies for the past 6 months, all sites have been improving incredibly well, all except one. The site in question is http://bit.ly/IH4pkM . The site is regarding automotive spray booth equipment. We were ranking on the first page for the keyword "spray booth" (which is the most important one), at place #4 for weeks on end. However since half-way last week, the site has been dropped to half-way the second page (#17).
There are barely any crawler errors listed for our campaign on SEOMoz. There were several pages of which the meta description was missing, but that has been fixed earlier this week. When it comes to link building, I looked at what the top competitors were doing, and was looking for unique link building opportunities myself. We have received 0 webmaster tools warnings as well.
I do not believe we are penalized due to the "penguin" update. After all, if you search for for the company's name in Google, it is still listed on there (# 2). Nor have we been part of dodgy link networks at all.
So my question is, what do you guys believe made us drop the rankings? Is there some on-page issues I am overlooking? Any recommendations to restore out previous rankings?
Kind Regards,
Roderic

G'day John,
Currently our PA/DA is higher than all other sites that are on the first page for keywords such "spray booth" and "spraybooth". Besides that, we have more links than the others as well. The only reason I can think of is that they are ranking higher then us due to their domain age?
Also, link building has been steadily.

Thank you for your suggestions!
-
I also agree with the over-optimization ... the nav structure seems a bit heavy right at the top.
-
Here's some suggestion you might want to consider:
http://www.junair.com.au/spray-booth-products/ >> leads to 404 page, after visiting the 3rd level links , when you click on this link again doesn't work.maybe some miss-configurations there to solve.
The menu links beneath /spray-booth-products are leading to the root of your domain.you might consider to move them into a sub-folder structure.
In general I'd suggest to check your menu and usability structure.
Everything else looks to be seo optimized, but maybe you have been hit by Over-optimization????
-
And so the questions begin....
What about the quality of your incoming links? What are your "spray booth" competitors doing? Any changes there? Have you been steadily building links and content or did you post it all up at once?

Rankings have dropped but why?
Recently our keywords have plummeted with regards to anything hen related on our stag and hen website. We were on the first page ranking 6th for terms such as Newcastle hen and hen weekend Newcastle. Now were around 15th this has also began to happen with other keywords. Content wise our pages score 90+ on page optimisation, we do have various keywords on the pages alike our competitors and use the highest searched for term as our page title. Our page speed is good on mobile and desktop. I’m struggling to see why we can’t seem to crawl back up to the first page when people who are outranking us have minimal content on slow sites. I know we lack back links but this can't be the only reason? Our website is hangoverweekends.co.uk

SEO audit on a beta site
HI there, Is there much point conducting an SEO site audit on a site that has not yet launched and is protected behind a login? Presumably none of the usual SEO tools (Moz, Screaming Frog etc) can crawl this site becuase it is all locked behind a login. Would it be better to launch it and then do a site audit? Thanks

Duplicate content on partner site
I have a trade partner who will be using some of our content on their site. What's the best way to prevent any duplicate content issues? Their plan is to attribute the content to us using rel=author tagging. Would this be sufficient or should I request that they do something else too? Thanks

This page has dropped could really do with some advice please
Hi Everyone,
On-Page Optimization | | dashesndots
Quite a few pages on this site have dropped since the penguin 2.0 update. Unfortunately the backlinks seo has been done by a third party and I think the pages in question are sufferering from anchor text over optimisation but could really do with some opinions on this. I had quite a few backlinks from my own site to this site so i have removed them and I have also had a look at a directory site that was showing up and have requested removal. Is there anything else that is affecting this page - I have tweaked the content today and I get a ranking of A on the on page optimiser. http://www.cheapsnapframes.co.uk/pavement-signs.html Any help would be so much appreciated! On Site Problem Caused Rankings To Drop?
I'm getting to the bottom of why my site dropped rankings on the 9th March. I noticed that in google there is a cached version of my site on 9th March at 8.37am which is when my rankings dissapeared. Presumably this is when google last crawled my site? I guess this means that google found something on the home page or on the site that it didn't like? I wonder if anyone can take a look and let me know if there's anything obvious. Could it be a duplicate content penalty as I have lots of categories pulling content from the same posts?

Which pages on my site should I back link to
The majority of the back links I have been creating link directly to our home page and to the store page. Is this the best approach or should I be trying to spread the links throughout our site to include product categories and subcategories etc?

Site wide 301 or canonical links.
Hi guys, I'd like add code to my header file to specify www. as opposed to just http:// for the canonical links across my entire site. How can I do this? I'd like it to be site wide code that I can just add to my header.php file which is included across the site.

Did anyone Rankings drop massively last weekend ...Is this new google update ?
Hi all, My Site rankings took a battering in the past week , From what I have read, I know that google have updated their algorithm and supposedly it only affects less than 1% of queries but I was very surprised to have fallen in that list... Just wondered, am i the only site to have been hammered this past week ? or is it more of a case that maybe the new algorithm means I need to be more savvy with our SEO. Just posting a quick general consensus question ... thanks Sarah
