How come some local 7 pack listings link to site and some link to the G+ page?
-
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Even though a site profile has had the website added to it Google continues to link the main "title tag" link to the G+ page and not the actual website domain. Thanks for any info in advance!

Hi Irving, the G+ L listing for Eyeglasses does not have a website listed, so that's why the link in G search only goes to G+. Here is the G+ L page search links to:
https://plus.google.com/112052218407614442300/about?hl=enHowever there may be an issue with that listing. If you view their maps page, the link shows but it does not show up on the Google+ Local page.
Looks like someone just made an update in Map Maker on May 23rd and added the website there. If you manage the listing I'd be sure the website is also listed in the dashboard and I would not typically recommend editing in MM.

Agree. "Mess" is a descriptor!

Thanks Tim, what a fantastic confusing mess G has been making as they figure it out as they go along.

In this new example, the query was for the actual domain name since it is also the business name: eyeglasses.com. You are already being served the cluster of direct domain listings, so when the Google+ listing is finally shown, it shows the Google+ listing link (in a single pack).
Typically, the main reason this occurs in a larger local pack is because of the disconnect between Google+ and the business website. There is quite a bit of confusion going on with this now since the Google+ Business page and the Google+ local (Places) page are not fully merged in many cases. What has happened in these situations is the business owner (or representative agency) set up a Google+ business page, but failed to claim/ verify and optimize the Google+ Local (Places) page, which is still sitting there unlinked to the main website.

Sorry maybe that was a bad example, this example for eyeglasses.com - it's verified and has a website but is still showing the G+ URL

In PetSitters Plus example, Google hasn't made the connection with a website. The most common reason you will see this issue is when there is confusion and Google hasn't made this connection or the website doesn't exist, so it defaults to the Google+ page. This is fairly common in unclaimed/ unverified listings where Google has only pulled the info from it's data sources which do not have the actual website info.
There are some other issues occurring due to the Google+ merge transition, but I don't think those issues are causing this example you have shown.

What is the site Petsitters Plus? coz if it is i dnt see the website on the G+ page

With MFI, should we delete our mobile version of our site?
I'll start by stating that a brand new responsive site is under development and will be launching early 2019. Until then, with Mobile First Indexing, we're curious if we should remove our mobile site altogether. Looking at Google guidelines, it looks like we have Dynamic serving content, so when a mobile device is used, a VERY TRIMMED down version of our site content is presented. I read that if a mobile version doesn't exist, google will use the MFI indexing on the desktop version still, since that is what is rendered on a mobile device. If Google starts using our mobile site for its indexing, we're not going to be looking good. At this point, are there negative affects to removing our mobile site and having the desktop version render on all devices?

Direct 100+ URLs to our sister site?
Hi, We have two websites www.eurekasolutions.co.uk and www.eurekaaddons.co.uk - currently the eurekasolutions site has eureka addon products on it - we are thinking of re-directing these to www.eurekaaddons.co.uk instead (there are 100+ pages which are being ranked and picked up by google) Would it be foolish to re-direct these from eurekasolutions straight to eurekaaddons after them being on eurekasolutions for many many years? if so what is the best way to go about it and would this have a direct negative effect on our SEO? Both sites are serving for similar terms. Thanks,

Should I Use A Local Hosting Center?
This question spawns from a comment I read in another post, but has anyone seen success switching from a hosting provider like bluehost, hostgator, etc to a local one in their area? Right now, we use Bluehost, but if there is a benefit to using one in Tampa, I'm all for it....before I do, I just want to see what the consensus is. Thanks, Ruben

What's the best way to redirect mobile site?
Hi, We have a mobile website using a sub-directory domain.com/m/whatever-page/. Our mobile is completely separate site from desktop version. What's the best way to handle the redirection from mobile visitors and those that are searching from mobile and see desktop version in the search result? Appreciate anyone's expert advise. Thanks,

Gathering Data on Link Removal and Disavow Tool
Hi, There is so much opinion out there about Link Removal and Google's Disavow Tool, but it's really hard to get hold of reliable data about what people are actually doing in this area. Through my involvement in rmoov, I've become really interested in participation and cleanup rates when it comes to Link Removal campaigns. So, I've put together a quick survey aimed at getting a real indication of what is happening out there. The survey is here The recent introduction of Google's Disavow Tool has opened up another area I'd really like to understand more, so there is a question on this included. I'd love to pull together a blog post with a decent snapshot of participation, success or failure for those trying to remove links and hope Moz Members might help out by answering this quick survey. Sha P.S. I'll update this post once results are available for those that are interested.

Why would my Bounce Rate drop from 40% to 2% over 3 days without making any major changes to my site www.hiltonhead.com?
Our Wordpress site has had an historical bounce rate of 40% for the last 3 years but last Thursday it dropped to 17%, Friday to 7% and now is running at 2%. The pageviews per visit have also increased from 3 to almost 6. Thanks
