May last year my sites orgainic listings, and therfore visitors, plumeted. Why?
-
Hello,
May last year my site took a major fall. I am unsure why, and it's time I found out why. Recently I have rebuilt the site from scratch, except for the urls and content, and it's starting to turn back.
What is the best method to go about understanding just what caused the decline? What are the options I have?

My website in question is: www.ditalia.com.au
Thanks.

Michael's questions are spot on but based on the timing and a quick glance at your anchor text profile I think it's pretty safe to say you were hit by Penguin. I'd assume there was some shady link building done to your site in the past through a link-blast service or some black-hat SEO.
Your site has a ton of links with the anchor phrasing of "wedding dress" or some variation thereof. I would suggest that you do some research on Penguin penalties and how to clean them up and definitely check Webmaster Tools for penalty notifications.
This is a good community to stay close to throughout this process. There are a ton of helpful people here who can help with questions along the way.
Good luck!

It might tie in with either Penguin or Panda updates, although content is Panda and Penguin is links (URLs).

You need to examine closely so that all your work doesn't fall flat again.

Same person on my site, every day, for over 6 months??
I watch my Google analytics real time while I work and for the last 6 months, I've had one person on my site consistently during every Monday to Friday. It's only the home page there go on, it never shows they look anywhere else. But it's starting to concern me a little since it's been going on for so long. Does anyone have an idea what they could be doing? I do my own SEO, there is no one else working on my site. Thanks in advance!

Advanced Segments for Remarketing Lists
Hello Moz community! I have a question around advanced segmentation for a client and was hoping someone would like to take a crack at it. Basically, I’m trying to establish segments which map to areas of the sales funnel, which I can then utilize as remarketing lists. So the scenario is this, for the time being we have 4 stages, let’s call them Aware, Interested, Engaged and Intent. For each of these stages a user will need to meet specific criteria. So for instance, Aware segment looks like the following Aware: Visited 1x (site.com/home) Had 2 unique page views/session That’s pretty easy to do in segments. Where it gets a little more confusing is when we try to take it to the “Interested” category. Which would have the criteria of Interested All of aware Repeat visitor (2x in last 30 days) Visited specific deeper pages (site.com/home/page1) (site.com/home/page2) Had specific events fire Clicked on download data sheet In GA, does this segment architecture make sense? | Filter users Include Page Contains site.com/home AND Unique Pageviews per session ≥ 2 Filter Users Include Page Contains site.com/home/page1 OR Page Contains site.com/home/page2 AND Count of Sessions session ≥ 2 Filter Users Include Event Label Matches download datasheet | I would love any feedback on this! Thanks in advance

.com site referral traffic to ccTLDs
We have 7 international domains set up along with our main .com site. All of the ccTLds are showing their main referral traffic as coming from the .com site in GA, and most of those being from mobile. Each site is set up correctly with geo-targeting and hreflang tags. Has anyone experienced this before?

Tracking Clicks on a Global Header Across Multiple Sites
Hey All, A particular client has multiple websites and we're planning on implementing a global header across 15+ sites. I've been looking for a way to track the clicks on this global header across all sites (that is that they are summed up), what's the best way to go about this if I am using Google Analytics (I know Adobe site catalyst could do this no problem with some advanced tweaking), any ideas? I could do the general click tracking route and tag every link but that will only help me if I do that for each site (that being said, if the global header for all sites pulls from a single HTML, then tagging it would technically count all the clicks from all the sites, the only caveat being that I'd have to pick which Google analytics profile I'd want to track the header with). Thoughts? Thanks!
