Drastic drop in LRD from OSE report has me confused... Any idea why?
-
We just got our report from OSE and a week ago we had over 80 LRD's with DA34/PA44 and now we see only 27 LRD's DA32/PA34? Why such a significant drop in our LRD's which I'm sure has affected everything else in the software.
We checked Google Webmasters and don't see a drop in our linking URLs. We see it fluctuate all the time, but nothing like this. I'm not so much concerned with DA/PA at the moment as I know that dropped from lack of data the system can read, but why did over 60% of our LRDs disappear overnight?
Anyone else seeing this happen to them? Our URL is whiteboardcreations.com

Hi Patrick,
My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help Team. Thanks for reaching out! This question is a little tricky, as I can't see any historic page level data from OSE. All I can check is historic domain level data within your campaign. I looked at your historic data in your Competitive Link Metrics, and I didn't see any dramatic change there to reflect this kind of a drop in your LDR's.
We are kicking around ideas on better historical databases, but there's nothing set in stone right now. Currently the only data points we have are based on domains in the current index. I apologize that I don't have a more concrete answer for you, but this is the best I've got with the tools available to me. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
Happy Friday!
Erin

OSE Getting Less Accurate
It seems that the more links I get the lower my DA is. My DA has been dropping for some time now as I gain more backlinks. It also does not seem to pick up anywhere close to the number of domains that is linking to my site. My url is hiddentriforce.com GWT says I have over 600 domains linking in. The majority of the links are from news or articles that we cover which other sites pick up and link to us as the source. We also have a ton of scholarship links from .edu and education sites from a giveaway that we do every year for students. Why does OSE seem to lower my DA the more I get off-page factors to the site?

OSE not picking up all internal links?
Hi! I've been checking a few pages in OSE. For example: https://www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk/holidays/last-minute This, according to the tool, has only 6 internal links. However, a Screaming Frog crawl picks up 700+, which is about right seeing as there is a link in the footer. What do you think could be behind the discrepancy?

OSE results vs. Google
Is OSE still a worthy analyzer of the factors breaking down Google rank of a page or website? More so over the past six months, I've seems to noticed how the page comparison in OSE seems to have less and less correspondence to Google rank. For instance, I'm analyzing sites where the top result has a Page Authority rank of 11, Subdomain MozRank of 3.53, outranking a page coming in in spot #14 with Page Authority of 36, Subdomain MozRank of 3.94. I see this frequently, that by the factors measured in OSE, a certain page with favorable scores is being outranked by a page with poor OSE scores. Of course, I realize how sophisticated Google's algorithm is and the OSE can't reverse engineer the whole thing. Also, there are lots of other factors, such as personalized search results, banklink velocity, and who's in my G+ circles, that isn't taken into account in OSE. Yet, I see this more-and-more, where websites kicking ass in OSE measurements rank poor, and poor websites ranked in OSE come out near the top in Google. So, given this, where OSE is apparently a less effective tool to help analyze the factors building Google rank as Google evolves and values brand, what should a chap do? I already know the predictable answers of do RCS, build your community, and so on. But, I want to know what's driving the juice behind these top ranking websites, and OSE doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore... Your thoughts?

Expired domains and OSE?
If a domain expires will it remain in OSE indefinitely and show external backlinks? Or at some point does the domain get removed from OSE?
